Summer release could go either way. Well, that helps with the drought at least. I'm still not sure what to think really... I'm waiting for it to actually be out and either be slammed or praised in reviews.

(Because you know there isn't a sonic game where people just say "Meh" unless it's sonic and the dark brotherhood where I didn't know what to think the whole time)

People are far far too certain that we're not getting another rep from Sonic ever in Smash Brothers.

I know this is a game series about Nintendo All-stars and that is what it should always stay first and foremost.

But look I hate to break it to you, but out of the three third party series that have currently been repped in Smash Brothers?.

Sonic happens to be the biggest and is probably the second series most people think of when it comes to platforming.

Characters like Tails, Robotnik and Knuckles are just as iconic to gaming as characters like Luigi, Bowser, Wario, Yoshi and Peach.

I'm not saying it's ever happening for sure, but there is a far stronger chance of it happening than most seem to be willing to admit.

You do know how strict Sakurai is when third parties are concerned right?

No, there really isn't.
There is a chance there could be another, but it's incredibly doubtful. Not strong at all.

Because we aren't getting a second character from Sonic, It just ain't happening. Anyone who actually think there is even a remote chance we will get a second Sonic character is just deluding themselves.

Here's what I ask.
Sure, many are iconic, but are they to Nintendo? We already have Sonic. After him, who's next?
With Luigi, Wario, and Yoshi. They're not only iconic, but a major part of Nintendo.
What about Sonic characters? The few that kinda come close are Tails (2nd most important; could be to Sonic what Luigi is to Mario) and Shadow (popularity).

While there's a point for secondary characters in Nintendo series, for what Third-Parties are suppose to do, it's fanservice. Pure fanservice.

edit: On the other hand I'm not against two characters from one company.

Not while Sakurai is around. Once he retires, then anything could be possible in terms of 3rd parties. Otherwise, Sakurai has expressed his strictness on 3rd parties.

Which I'm all for since third party developers are going bankrupt left and right. It's slowly getting to the point that developers have to team up in order to survive. Plus Nintendo would get Altus in the deal too which, all and all, wouldn't be too shabby.

Now, instead of 10 IP's that Nintendo doesn't use, you can now have 40 IP's Nintendo doesn't use!

On a serious note, I'd actually be happy if only for the fact that Shining Force 3 HD could actually be a thing.

I really hope one of Sonic's color alts is gonna involve a scarf. I loved how some characters got some accessory with the different colours, hopefully they'll do more with that in ssb4.
