Firstly, I'm not going to apologize for my candor. If you don't like my tone, well, them's the breaks.

Secondly, I'm not contradicting myself in the slightest. I'm not the one sitting here and throwing out stupid **** like "EVERYBODY PLAYS FOX," "THIS GAME NEEDS TO BE CLOSER TO MELEE OR OTHERWISE THE COMMUNITY WILL IMPLODE ON ITSELF," "THIS GAME WILL BE HACKED WITHIN A YEAR," or what have you. If anything, you are contradicting yourself. That, or you're resistant to change. Maybe both.

Either way, sounding like a harbinger (which is the kinda vibe you gave off, btw) isn't logical in the slightest. It leads to people calling you out on your **** like this.

Ask Frostwraith a thing or two about logic.

I'm glad it isn't a carbon copy of Melee in the sense that the design of that game having a heavy bias towards incredibly agile characters. Which is a bigger problem then people think because it discourages diversity with selecting characters.

I think you're kind of contradicting yourself - you said that we should be happy to see something different, and then when I agree with you that because Melee has been around for so long, of course the meta is getting a little stale.
Dat reading comprehension doe.

Dude said he can understand your opinion about the game being "stale" he didn't agree to it being stale.

We in here!

That link gives a 404 error.

That error means that file doesn't exist on that domain. It could be that the image is no longer available or that the URL has a mistake somewhere.
I noticed that I get sent to that page every time I enter this page. It sends me here, which is correct, but then quickly sends me to that page.

Hmm, wasn't there an unused online mode in Brawl?

"Slipspace" it was called. Iirc, it would have been some sort of beat em up (what would they beat up? Others players? Fighting Alloy teams?) mode, where players could jump in and enter whenever they want, and there's a time limit.

There's actually a lot of scrapped things on the Brawl disc... so much unused crap lol.

Something I'm going to do when I get the game is make a Peach vs. Rosalina vs. Zelda vs. Palutena FFA. Which of Nintendo's magical girls is the strongest?

I remember when people wanted more females and it looks like it really happened.
Neato.

I'm going to do: Zelda vs Peach vs Rosalina vs Marth. The princesses battle, and the winner will win Link's affection!

But then it will turn out Link doesn't swing that way, so then I'll have a Little Mac vs Ike vs Male WFT vs Pit battle. Who will be the winner and win Link's heart!?

There seem to be branching paths in Classic, according to the 3DS trailer. It appears that you can choose between an easy, medium, and hard path. A trophy is also visible on the world map, presumably as a reward for choosing a harder path. Perhaps this means we'll have a pseudo-randomly generated Classic mode, maybe with more minigames. Thoughts?

Yes, but strangely not on this page.
Really weird. I had no problem browsing the last page.

What browser are you using? It could also be some advertisement or something.

I had thought about that and if that's true, it would undoubtedly be a breath of fresh air on the mode.

The difficulty system is the same as the Fiend's Cauldron from Kid Icarus: Uprising. Sakurai sure loves recycling elements from his previous games...

It could also be Adventure Mode, when Classic stays classic. Speaking of difficulty paths, we also saw a KI:U-esque difficulty generator. This could be used now instead of Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard and Intense modes. Way better, since you have 90 difficulties instead of 5 with 9 categories (Nothing Easier - Nothing Harder). Im SO excited how they make all the new modes.

So went to SmashFest yesterday. Would've talked about it then, but I wiped out soon as I got home.

Anyway, me and my friend got to the Best But at Buckhead an hour early, and still had to wait until almost closing time to play (for the event, anyway). So, naturally, me and him had to wait a very, very long time to play the game. I made it my mission to use Mega Man and get the Smash Ball the entire time.

So some guys brought a laptop, emulator, and four GCN controllers (and adaptors!) and played Melee (tourney rules, FD, four players) during the wait, and eventually we got invited to join in. At one point, me and my friend had a 1v1 where I was Marth and he was Roy, and of course, Marth wins (though he threw me off with his counters, I tricked him by using Shield Breaker)
They played about twelve matches, where I won about six of them, I think. (I didn't participate in all of them) and they played until the laptop started dying.

So after that I met a couple of guys who were really cool and knew what they were talking about, and we talked to them until it was time to play. I basically had people to talk to on every side who were really cool. I noticed that there was a guy carrying around two 3DS's with Smash Run, but he ignored us.

So me and my newfound allies made a pact for everyone to pick Mega Man to generate hype (and so we could guarantee the Final Smash) in our second match.
The game froze when someone else was using Greninja's FS, which was funny.

So we played two 2min FFA matches. I picked Rosalina (which was a bad idea, as someone else chose ZSS). We played Skyloft because I wanted to hear Ghirahim's theme on the stage (and I did, I was happy about that).

In the second match, however, we all picked Mega Man (which made the crowd around us cheer) and the Boxing Ring (it was supposed to be Wily Castle, but I changed it :troll:)
I got second place in both matches, but I feel like I was the real winner because both times the guy who won did so accidentally, but more importantly, I GOT THE FINAL SMASH!!!

Everyone, of course, cheered.

So I went home with a Mario Kart 8 flag, a Paper Mario sticker book/diorama book, and a Smash Bros pin.
I can say, although I didn't win or play that long, it was very hype.

As for the game:

- It was definitely faster than Brawl.
- The Pro controller sucks for it.
- Rosalina and Luma are difficult to use because Luma dies very fast.
- Little Mac combos like a m*********
- Zero Suit Samus and Greninja = Super overpowered

Yes I understand Fox isn't the only character, and maybe that exaggeration wasn't something I should have used to exemplify such a tired meta-game.
One of the fundamental rules of making an argument is to not use extreme statements like saying everyone plays Fox.

Anyway, this game is very different from previous entries. Instead of comparing to Melee or using Melee as a golden standard, you should be looking at the game as its own entity.

But couldn't the same be said about comparing Brawl to Melee? How is SSB4 different?
To be fair, Brawl's demo wasn't severely different from Melee's regular game when it came out. Didn't it even have Wavedashing at the time?

We have a huge amount of differences, like extreme landing lag on some moves, and no manual L-Cancelling(that we can tell), and a lot of glitches that have come up. The games have froze more than once.
