I saw this movie in theaters last November with part of a larger group and while I liked it for what it was, it doesn't deserve the continued hype and fandom since its only high points were its maybe two decent music numbers, neat little story and a few mature main characters. For a while I was worried it was going to explode and become a parallel universe "Brony" culture. No thank you.I haven't! >8D
The fact that its continuing fanbase is dominantly male makes the idea of watching the movie again deeply off-putting because of the waifu subculture that seems to inevitably develop out of male-dominated hobbies these days. I like the movie enough to where I wouldn't mind watching it again but it'd have be under the condition of watching it with family or a girl friend because I don't want to be associated with that subculture.
