Aspyr is a character made from scratch taking some design cues from Dark Matter (Kirby) and Black Mage (Final Fantasy). The previous Flight character (which got scrapped) looked almost like Sonic.. funny isn't it?

So Palutena made Whatever Pit and Pit was ignored? Dark Pit must be jealous...but not that jealous since he's going to be playable in Smash 4.
It might not be authentic, but yeah, at least it's much more innovative than Sonic recolors' backstories.
Maybe Whatever Pit can use Substitute.
