The vast majority of anime movies like the Bayonetta one will get mediocre ratings, due to people not getting anime. So I would not take that seriously.

For some reason, Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva has 6.7/10 on iMdB, even though it's really beautiful.

And I'm not biased because I'm a Layton fan, as the movie got me into the games. It's that good.

So I'm sure the Bayonetta one is too, though it's strength will probably be the sexy action.

Now that I have that out of my system, I'm neutral on Takamaru. On one hand he seems cool, but on the other hand, I don't know much about him, and his appearances seem inconsistent.

Call me sick and twisted, but I think 90% of the reason why I enjoy it so much can be attributed to

The fact that basically everything goes wrong. I had no idea what to expect going in considering my source, and having never watched any magical girl anime previously, so the extremely dark/depressing stuff I found to be the most enjoyable parts.

But yeah the entire thing is one simultaneous best part.

Depends. If you were interested in Murasame Castle (Takamaru's game) and you live in America, then yes, because that game is being released on Virtual Console. Otherwise, no. Gameplay is interesting enough IMO, though.
