sigh, everyone im really sorry.

i swear i didnt mean for all this. i was a little heated and i said some rude things and pointed out a lot of stuff that is now old argument and has been stated by no fewer than 4 sjsu attendee's

please disregard the post talking about academic charges, that was a troll (but someone who was also extremely frustrated about the lack of respect for the venue)

my whole purpose for letting everyone know that there wasnt going to be any more tourneys was because officers of the club are required to be at the tourney at all times, this was the reason i had to cancel the biweekly a few months back. none of the officers of the club take smash very seriously, as none of them really have time to. kizzo doesnt anymore, thats why he stopped.

something i might want to mention is that the garbage mostly just irritated me and josh and wally. that alone wasnt going to break tourneys happening again, it was the fact of how long over time this thing went, and it put a huge strain on tim, who didnt exactly want to be there in the first place.

as andy said earlier (and dont mind his vocabulary, thats just how he talks, seriously) i really asked for a lot of favors for thous tourney to happen at all, and that was the biggest reason i suggested that these tourneys will be exceedingly infrequent if they happen at all, and the way things turned out i just dont think that said favors will be granted even if asked for.

im really sorry that so much was instigated over this. i know that whoever swiped the club controller probably took it by accident, but i specifically remember putting them all in the drawer so im just a little concerned that they were taken out at all.

germ, to you specifically, i didnt mean to start crap. i was just a little cranky and a little miffed because our moving of the tables was the only thing that allowed the finals to happen, but i shouldnt have talked back. i know you're for the most part you're a cool guy and i hope all of DBR doesnt hate me like boback does.

san pablo has some pretty good players who sorta came from obscurity, i for one wsa fairly impressed by some of their playing. i dont understand why people are griefing them (except pocky, i'll agree with you just a little bit)

it seems like the splitting issues have been more or less quieted down, and i hope we dont bring them up again.

like i said in my post that started all this drama, i DID have fun, but dont have a venue besides my house so i probably just wont host any more tourneys. but i'll keep my eyes out for a venue.

once again, i truly am sorry for all the trouble that i have or may have been the cause of.

Besides my friends, Josh & Wally:

The CS Club and their new posters on the boards are suffering from group delusion.

Bring back David Kilgore.

I bet that if he were leading the officers, none of this cry-baby follow up stuff would happen. People will follow leaders, and when people are new to things, they trust whoever they first follow. The guys who are new...didn't know what to think.

If you don't know what you're saying, if you don't know the community, shutup.

Well, I would understand if the color of the controller left behind matched the one that went missing, but sadly, black =/= silver. Just to let you know, I'm not sweating much or losing sleep over it, because its just a controller, more easily replaced than most things.

As for personal issues, would most of the attendees say that trash was the main problem, or were there other problems that you think could've been fixed? Table arrangement, ventilation, etc.

I did not insult the way you guys were brought up I was stating how you guys act in this particular way. I have no way of knowing how you were brought up so understand this. Also I am angry at a lot of people because they don't clean up after themselves. I've even yelled at some of my friends for this. Also I never said anything about maturity I said stuff about being clean.
I will agree that the trash cans should be more and be emptied more so I think that next time we should take turns to empty it
However it would be great if everyone who comes to the tournaments agree to pick up after themselves especially during the waiting periods between plays.

That will be noted. Possibly considering setting aside large cardboard boxes for trash so you guys don't have to walk as far.

I don't think how far we had to walk was the problem, because the trash cans were in the same location as they were for every biweekly but they needed to be emptied.

The room has always been hot and smelled bad. If you can make people smell better and have it better vented, it would be the bomb. But as this has been a problem since way before I went to biweeklies at SJSU I don't see it being fixed.

The table arrangement has never been a problem, and at this one it was just as good as it's ever been. I guess if you put a table in the hall with the couch then someone could bring their own set up to have out there and that could possibly reduce the number of people in the CS room [this also could be good if we wanted to have brawl TV(s) or maybe other games.]

The trash wasn't a problem to anyone but the people that put it upon themselves to clean it up it seems. And again, I think that problem would've fixed itself if it werent for the time crunch at the end of the tournament.

Ok right now no one is attacking anyone. I myself was not there so I can't say much except of what I hear which was pretty bad. I know that it is natural for all people to litter but that doesn't mean it's right. I myself can say that I try not to litter as much as I can, the most I do is leave something somewhere and forget it is there when I havent finished the food in there but thats about it.

That's what most people were guilty of doing. When you have 20+ people doing that, it adds up.

Hmm, let's see. For those of you that don't know, I'm the guy that ran the tournament, blond guy in grey shirt/pants.

First off let me say that regardless of the disrespect you preceived, SJSU biweeklies were the backbone of the Norcal community for a long time, and we were all happy to have this back, if just for once, and I thank you for giving us the chance in the first place, and especially those of you that aren't directly involved in the Smash community for giving up your time.

As for the tourney itself, I'll take the hit for it running it overtime. Yes, one pool was remarkably slow, taking at least an hour longer than the other 2 pools started at the same time. But I decided on pools for both singles and teams to begin with, so it was my job to get it done on time. It was an incorrect assumption on my part that I could let the pool run itself, and I don't mean this in an indignant manner to those who were in the pool. So I want to apologize to the CS Club people for making you guys stay later than you wanted to, and don't yell at any of the other smashers for this.

Now for the garbage or whatever, as people before me had pointed out, this was the first time such an amount of food was available for purchase in the room. I mean we had nearly 50 people at the venue, and you decide to sell food, not to mention messy food like Cup O' Noodles, to people, and you're surprised there's a mess? The fact that club members are genuinely BAFFLED by the existence of a mess given the number of people and the nature of food available is in turn baffling to me, and I take issue with all the righteous indignation being shown by some people.

I of course don't condone the leaving of garbage around, and I don't even think you "shouldn't" be frustrated by it, but I don't think you're being reasonable or responsible by chastising everyone and making threats after the fact. Not to mention that if you discover the trash only at the very end, it means for the duration of the festivities, you weren't monitoring the situation (I don't mean to criticize your hostmanship [if that is a word], but merely pointing out what follows from the fact). Being a host isn't a free party (in fact you made at least $40 from it plus whatever from food); I've hosted large smashfests and parties at my house before, and although I tell people to clean their **** up, I know that some of them won't, or forget, and I know this in advance. I clean up their mess the next day and I don't come on SWF and post about how messy everyone was and how disappointed people didn't clean up MY house FOR ME. I think you only have yourselves to blame ultimately. When you host something, and it doesn't go the way you wanted it to, especially if you're playing friendlies all day (doesn't necessarily apply to all of you) while someone else spends his entire day running the tourney, you own up to it. I'm convinced if you didn't sell so much food this problem wouldn't have materialized.

Ian pretty much hit the mark on the issue of Germ's comments. I know when you guys are trying to clean up, such words might not be perceived lightly, but I'd expect in retrospect, after you've had time to sleep on it, it wouldn't be stuck in your minds so much. When I'm trying to run a tourney and people ask me the same quesion for the 20th time, I'm often short with people too. And they sometimes get on my case for that, but after everything's done I know that it really doesn't amount to anything and I see no point in calling people out on annoying me.

Anyway, again, thanks for everything, and I'm sorry things didn't turn out the way you expected. I'm honestly disappointed in some smashers too, I just take issue with the way it has been posted about, and as the TO and resident old man of the community I felt a responsibility to respond to it.

EDIT: I didn't realize how much had been said in the time to take to write this post, so some of this is moot. I suppose I'll just leave it up anyway.

I think it's good that everyone expressed what was a problem for their party

Now in the event of another tourney (which would be hella cool), everything would go much better

i say.. SJSU sucks ****. everyone who runs or tries to run SJSU sucks sick (with the exception of kizzo/mike)

i say we BAN SJSU from any further tourny. NCB's were dead along time ago, this was a bad idea to bring back ESPECIALLY with such a ****ing ****** as Nick.. the same person.. might i remind you guys.. that was the laughing stock of the whole smash community in Norcal... what do you expect from a dip**** like him? run a successful tourny ALL by himself? llooooolllllllllllll.. no suprise to me that this whole tourny went to **** the second nick had a ****ing grand idea to bring back the ncb's the SAME ncb's he tried to resurrect, and CANCELED.

i dont know why you guys are all arguing about cleaning and ****. if youre going to open a venue for a tournament.. except to ****ing clean up. that means YOU. im guessing no one had any knowledge prior to going to this tourny that they had to stay and clean up and help some dumb**** like you to do their ****ing job. yes job. a job that you took upon yourself, to get the room, secure it, open it, and GET SOMEONE ELSE to ****ing run the tourny, and then act like youre worth a **** because you provided it for everyone. if youre going to act like that.. i suggest you ****ing do something other than sit around and suck your thumb and ***** about every god **** little thing that isnt to your liking.

if i was german, i would have ****ing got up and socked you in the face.. and thats partially why i didnt come to this, one because i didnt want to go, and two i didnt want to separate your jaw from your skull, because i know you would have said some dumb *** remark that would have lead up to that.

stop ****ing hosting tournies.. STOP ****ING HOSTING THEM. THEY ARE ****ING DISASTERS.

Vote YES on Prop NCB

Banning Nick from further tournies that involve him and the game of Melee.

i think it was up until the point that you decided re-enter the scene with a triumphant return of the NCB and then re-quit the game when you realized you were still in that **** hole you dug yourself in earlier this year.

go the **** away

p.s.
nick your tournaments are fun
but this isn't the first time you've come on the boards after wards and made a HUGE DEAL about how hard it is for you to host tournaments and how you don't get respect and blah blah blah
