There is proabably a very old thread on this, but wich do you perfer? Does one take more skill or team building than the other? Or can they not be compared at all?

I personaly like doubles battles because I like have a greater chance of covering all my type bases with two diverse pokemon, also I like the diffrent type of stratagey nessacary for doubles battles.

I used to be strictly singles, but iv been practicing doubles for the official poke tourney comin up and i gotta say - i love it. everything is so diverse. so many pokemon that were considered bad in singles all of a sudden have a new chance, and some of the extreme powerhouses are toned down a little bit. its much more balanced overall, and there are like 8 million more strategies to choose from.

I think both are pretty fun, but doubles arguably involve much more strategy. You have 2 pokes out on the field, and they have to rely on each other in order to win; one supports the other somehow. Whether its healing, using Follow Me, or using weather effects, that one poke has to help the other, and vice versa. However, in a singles match, each monster can work independently pretty well with its own individual strategy, or it can help others using Baton Pass or Light Screen support setups.

Bottom Line: both are awesome, but doubles teams take a little more thought. I really can't decide :p

Doubles is very one-sided. It relies on you fulfilling your strategy while preventing your opponent from fulfilling theirs. I always seem to see some sort of Endeavoring, Lv1s and Sporing Smeargles in every Doubles team. It's very silly to see a meta like that. I personally prefer...

OU>UU>LC>Ubers>Doubles

IMO, I've grown up with single-battles, so I like it better than double battles just because it simplifies things!

Double battles are pretty much just for setting up combos quickly!

i prefer singles, but I am decent at making doubles teams.

or I am just decent at strategy, but dislike using the same pokemon (i hate OU for this reason, but i deal.)- doubles gives me the chance to use the crazy stupid **** i think of in my free time.

I'd say singles. Doubles can turn a game around so much sometimes, wait now that might be a good thing I guess. Last I heard the winning strategy for the most recent doubles tourney was earthquake or surf and protect on the other pokémon. The following turn, the roles are reversed and etc.
Kinda lame I guess, but it is hard to have like 10 strategies and guess which one you should bust out
