Hmmm... I'm not sure I agree completely on the Young Link thing, Sariku. I'd say if he utilized his abilities from Majora's Mask, we could have a completely different Young Link on our hands.

wow, nice job Youko and Sariku. and Aeronite's Kiseki. a few mess ups Sariku, but no one's perfect. i think that this was a nice ending for season 1, and can't wait to see what season 2 brings. hopefully we'll get crawling and a new character next week.

Ok so, I have yet to listen to the cast because I'm at my girlfriend's house, but I hope the BV isn't similar to mine.

Which I wrote 3 weeks ago, which I haven't been able to send until today. =/

Loved the show - thank you for the Family Guy quote Youko!

Best "Who's In" by far, well done Sariku for going out with a bang!
And that BV? WIN just for
"Take Fourside out, Put Saffron City back in" *high fives Kiseki*

New segment...
"Veteran vivification"
Take the veterans, reinvent them from Brawl
We haven't seen everyone's moves yet (and we don't officially know any "A" moves)
Assume EVERYONE from Melee is returning
Predict the reinvited moveset i.e. what's needs nerfing, what needs improving
Say what you think about the things we've seen so far (i.e. Mario's F.L.U.D.D.) and predict what will happen in future match ups (i.e. what the F.L.U.D.D. will be affective for, who against)
Stage strategies, character strategies
A franchise each week
And then, by December 3rd 2008, predict where they are in the tier list
...just a brainstorm

Rar, I'll review it the second the Download comes up Youko.

Call me picky, but I only review the cast when I can listen to when downloaded. Dunno why.

All the ep seems to have great reception, and the whole "Mario RPG" thing is just nitpicking. Can't wait to hear it all Youko!

i had a good idea for a new segment, which probably wouldn't be too long. near the end, or beginning, you can go over mistakes made in the previous segment, factual, or otherwise. i just think it would help clear a lot of things up.

Wow... I didn't know how many people accually listened to Who's In, or atleast liked it...

It feels really good to be appreciated, since I tried really hard. (Some more than others.)

Is this how you always feel Youko?

I enjoyed this weeks podcast, but I felt something was laking in it all. I can't put my finger on what, but perhaps it was the circumstances I had when I listened to it. Perhaps I'll listen through it again and it'll change a bit for me. It's always a good listen regardless. While this weeks Who's in was much better then any other, not enough attention was put on the original characters that we're set up, and more attention was thrown into the 'Melee clones?' part.

Moving on, The Brawl viewpoint had potential, but I didn't really feel it like the other ones. This one I was seriously looking forward too, because I had never really taken the time to think about Melee stages returning. That being said, You made a few mistakes in it as Corneria was never a stage in Smash 64, as that was Sector Z. A better way of referring to it was along the lines of the 'traditional Great Fox levels', referring to the horizontal view over the front. I believe Youko made me smile more in his singular line of bringing back Fountian of Dreams, which had the best music in Melee by far, followed by SMB. 3, IMO.

I look forward to finding out what the new segments are, and how many, seeing that SMYN could be longer... just sayin. I also would like to see how the Round Table goes, but I think it's a grand idea to get more people into it then just you and Panda. That all being said, I'm off to see the Pokemon bottom ten.

nice week youko. you were really hillarious, as always.

enemies-agree. although it is cool to know what you're going to be fighting

Snake-YES!! excellent job. i'm like you, my mains seem to be dominated by how awesome Snake seems to be. however you missed his grenade...but the theme comments were awesome. and his grab is always SWEET!

Online-"Dear Diary...Jackpot!" made the section. and i agree whole-heartidly with everything you said

Who's In-sounded like you did research this time. too bad this was the last one. if it continued like this, i would be happy to hear it. good job

BV-you had some bad quality there. however, i do agree with the stage choices you made. however, you missed Link's stage in 64. but good nonetheless

you gotta mean roomate Youko. i like him already

It's simply Snake's taunt. Mario's position has nothing to do with it - he just used his Up + B And that's his falling animation, and they took the screen at that time. Nothing more.

...Wow, I could have sworn I had the neutral-special in there for Snake, I had it written down and everything...just a slip-up on my part. Here's what was in the script:

"Next is the neutral special; Snake pulls out a hand grenade, and depending on the lateral direction next used in combination with the special button, the grenade travels different lengths. There’s forward for far, neutral for medium, and back for short. What makes me worry is how the game will know, when you want to thrown the grenade weakly, which way you want to throw it. I mean, since pressing back will likely change the direction you’re facing, would that cause some mix-ups, or is it just me?"

Yeah, I don't know when the download will be up on the normal site...but you know, I've ONLY been plugging the Smash Brothers Blog site at www.smashbrawl.com for SEVERAL weeks now...go check it out there.

Glad the reception is good though! :)

Good cast this week everyone. Last week was kind of lacking for me, but this week was really good. It was funny and Youko gave pitched new ideas that I've never heard of, and put the WiFi haters in their place.

Sariku, good job. It sounded like you did alot of research and your segment was really good. It saddens me how it's the last one.

The BV was funny. And the random burst of music at the start was hilarious. It wasn't like my BV at all so I'm sending mine in.

Did you get it Youko?

A few things I gotta poke at:

The Rundown:

You forgot gernades, but I guess we all saw that coming [except me]. They seem basic, but could be good.

MGS2's PS2 version alone outsells Melee, and is one of the two nono-GTA/Grand Turismo games to outsell Melee last gen [the other is Halo 2]. Add in it's Substinance expansion pack on the PS2, and Xbox port, and you get the picture. And if MGS4 goes to the 360...it could very well outsell even HALO 3! It almost outsold Halo 2, after all. Now those sales are impressive, at over 8 million sales with the original PS2 and the only Xbox port alone. Add in the PS2 expansion pack in Substinance...and....ya. >_<

And the dB...Sakurai is Sakurai'ing [mindgaming] us. :dizzy:

LOL at the fire alarms....and "Dear Diary: Jackpot."

Foxhound symbol... WAT!? the original FOX unit from MGS3 is the best. Defintely....and I agree with the Youko thing. Also, I agree. I hate being NGHT, I wanna be Johnknight f***ing numbero 1!

And btw, the best 4 taunts=1. "Sorry if I suck, this is the first time I played Super Smash Bros." 2. "Woaw! You can jump in this GAME! AMAZING!" 3."Hey, how do you move=???". 4. "Way to get 5-stocked ;)"

^^^ Gotta love it!

And downloadable content...I could see it go either way. Thankfully. Downloadable content FTW! And I can't wait to start getting good via online. Then I'll need to find a biweekly. LOL.

9.4/10

Coulda had a bitmore coverage on the enemies, but meah. And the MGs4 music...I agree. Imagine the MGS2 main theme in Brawl [click here btw]. Hopefully not the MGS3 theme [click here for a link to it] Maybe the MGS1/Twin Snakes opening theme.

Who's In:

-Megaman: 3rd most....He's a ICON! ICON! Geno's popularity is nothing compared to that. He's no icon, he's a cult classic. Megaman is much more reconizable, definitely. And wat....no Johnknight1's extremist pro-Wind Waker Link reference. :( You obviously never heard him talk about holding Sakurai hostage to put Wind Waker Link in Brawl [it's true].

And ya, no legal issues. Capcom and Nintendo rocks. AND yae to yes! Megaman for the WIN! And his chances are better then Geno, by a mile. Seriously. Don't kill me Geno fans, I'm pro-Geno [and Sonic] as well. Fantastic Four 3rd parties FTW! [Solid Snake, Megaman, Geno, and Sonic...BOOM!]

And the pichu bros.....no! Thank you for spreading the ancient way of the extremist Plusle/Minun hate! Welcome to the winning side! God curse whoever came up with the idea for them, and put them on Sakuria's Japanese poll.

Captain Olimar: YES! YES! YES! Originality, awsomeness, etc. Though I gotta disagree, new characters rock. I agree, though here's the deal. Ike is in Brawl to support Goddess of Dawn, and Pikmin 3 via Captain Olimar. Yae to Captain Olimar, and I heavily agree with this.

-Falco: Decloned. Decloned, decloned. He needs to be somewat decloned, but I doubt he'll be completely.

-Dr. Mario: Gone...but not forgotten. Agreed 100% on the alternate costume.

-Pichu: Idc if Pichu returns or not, as long as everyone I want is in firrst. But definitely gone.

-Young Link: Well...I technically consider Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass Link a replacemnt upgrade/newcomer [both], but watever. Plus MGS4 music confirms WW/PH Link could use PH moves, since PH comes out on October 1st, and MGS4 comes out in fall 2008. And PH has been out in Japan since June.

-Ganondorf: He will return. Hopefully with a sword. Hopefully.

Roy: Here's the breakdown, we NEED A Game Boy Advanced Fir Emblem rep. 4/10 of the Fire Emblem games are on the Game Boy Advanced. Marth was both a NES and SNES FE [he was the star of 2/4 of them], and he reps both. Ike was on the only 3D ones on th GCN and the Wii, and was the star in the first, and star of 1/3rd the game in the later. What about the 4 GBA FE games=??? Roy best reps them...he simply has no competiton in other GBA FE characters, other then his father. I assume there are 3 FE reps in Brawl, and Ike and Marth come first. After that, it's like this...either the new villian of PoR and GoD in the Black Knight, or Roy. It could go either way IMO, and either way, I'm satified.

Geno: Super Mario RPG was on the SNES. Sakurai mentioned him twice that he liked the idea.

on point 1: Good point, and Sakurai has shown major love for the 3rd gen of gaming in Pit, Ice Climbers, Marth, and Mr. Game and Watch, and the SNES era in Ness and Marth.

on point 2: Maybe not. Well, a SMRPG 2 would be neat, he could also appear in a Paper Mario game. And also, since Square Enix recently brought their 2nd biggest franchise in Dragon Quest over EXCLUSIVELY to the DS and Wii, this helps his chances.

And he still has minimal fanbase next to Megaman in general, and look on youtube to find out that he is more wanted then Geno. Out of all the Brawl Character PRediction/Want List videoes, mine is probably the only one to feature Geno. Again, don't kill me Geno fans. Geno is my #8 most desired character for Brawl, while Megaman is #2. Guess who's #1 [hint: don't look at my sig]

Overall, best episode, but kinda long [but I understand why]. Good, and long.

9.3/10

Aeronight

SSB 64 Stages:

-Corneria...it was Sector Z. But...it rocked, though to big.

Safferon City: Yes, it rocked. But Ness users hate it. And it needs to replace Safferon City.

-Mushroom Kingdom: Yes, it was better than Melee's. POW Block...I love/hate it, depending which side of it I'm on.

No Peach's Castle....NO PEACH'S CASTLE! NO PEACH'S CASTLE! Man....that rocked. Or of course, there were the three in Melee [minus Yoshi's Story]. Plus Zebes 64. Anything from SSB64, actually...though if Yoshi's Story returned [again] over Peach's Castle, I'll hunt down Sakurai. Seriously.

Melee Stages:

-Yes, Mute City needs to return. If Big Blue returned, I'd be happy, but not as happy as Mute City. And we do need better F-Zero stages. Seriously [though Mute City rocked].

6/10. Should have covered more, but meah. It was still a fine job, and I probably did worse. ;)

Also...FoD, FD, Jungle Japes, Yoshi's STory [Melee], Mute City, Pokémon Stadium, Rainbow Cruise, and Onett [sorta] returning ftw foks! And Mushrrom Kingdom II needs to be redone [or everyone needs to be able to wall hop....I am a angry Link and Peach user].

And I AGREE! Youko, you mindreader you. We need SONIC on Monday, TOTALLY!...or Tuesday....But Sonic would totally cancel it out, followed by Megaman, and Geno [all playable]. Then we have the fantastic four 3rd party characters! And everyone shall be happy!

For the last part...WTF?

Overall, best week ever! And for the overall podacast.... 8.4/10. Well done. Can't wait to hear SamuraiPanda helping out again. Next week shall rock, definitely. :)

Edit: LOL at Pokémon Bottom Ten. Everyone should watch it=HILARIOUS! I feel stupid having watched that show as a kid.

I have trouble believing that the cardboard box would be used in a taunt rather than a move....but anyway...

Can Snake hurt himself with the Remote Missile I wonder? And if he can, would it be possible to blast yourself back towards the stage as an alternate recovery method?

SlackBladder’s in-depth review

OooOooo. Holidays are a real charmer. I can get in decently speedy reviews, even when bogged down by such things as friends and…other stuff. Anyways
-wait.
What was that about retro stages? *Rewinds*
Oh, I see. BV. Righto!

The Rundown:

Golden Hammer/Piplup/SubSpace Enemies: Right! I now know that Youko still has his wit on sharp during his Hammer rants, still can hold down a “I don’t give a f**k” feeling when talking about Piplups’ in Brawl, and, most wonderful of all, is able to say what we all wanted to, and did, say after we met the Sub Space crew.

“…why do we give a crap?” – Youko

That’s pretty much how it goes for me with…well, all of those updates we have in the convenient “Quick rundown” section of the cast. Huzza!

Snake Bundle pack: What’s there to say about this? It was pure pwng. I never had any real thoughts I would really test Snake out to see if I could play him secondary, or even main. This update helped me decided that I may well try this. Try. I doubt I’ll main him in the end, but it’ll be fun all up. The near highlight of this part is probably the wonderful talk on the now favored grab that Snake seems to posses. Even Youko loves it, as it’s so “Assassin like!”. That’s classic in it’s own right. It’s very clear you enjoyed talking about Snake here, which really shines through in this talk. I can almost feel the excitement from you man. Seriously, awesome talk. Informative, clever, and keeps a pinch of humour in, as has become one of SYMN staple signatures.

WI-FI: Why this part of the cast begun with a Dr. Seuss Esq. sing-song, then trailed into a story about fire alarms and cold and lack of sleep. It all becomes very clear however, with one simple sample:

“Dear Diary-Jackpot!” –I wish I knew

And that was a very easy and pleasant thing for this old Adder to listen to. I have actually come to really like this episode, as it is far less “rant” emphasised, and far more “Easy going Brawl talk” style. And essentially kicked back in my swivel chair, closed my eyes, and just listened to this little chat. And I was satisfied with it. So very, very satisfied.

You’re right of course. The complaints people have about online are total bullshit, and the system we have now is fine, and cute. Besides, Sakurai promised more features. What more is there to say? Awesome WI-FI rundown.

Final “Who’s In”:
Well…Oh wait. I can’t turn this down. Smash 64 game with a guy. Had this waiting for 2 weeks. *Goes to play Smash64 online for a bit*
Okay, that was a disappointment. Stupid “Mupen”…what the hell…*grumble..*Mumble*

Anyways! This is the last “Who’s In” so I’m gonna really go full-out review on this one.
Les’ do it yo.

Mega Man: Well, I’m no Mega Man buff, but I think a lot of what you’re saying here, Uchiha, is truth and fact. It really seems you researched your topic greatly this time Sariku. I can’t say that I know everything about Mega man, I really, really don’t, but this is truly quality stuff. Neat attack ideas, good reasoning with some things, and…I’ve actually grown used to your voice! o.O

Also, the fan mail was extraordinarily cute. I loved it.

Olimar: I just really have to start of this review segment with this hilarious quote:

“After talking it over with ‘Fan-wa-gy’…” – Sariku Uchiha

I laughed at that man. Fanwgie’s name is a bit of an odd one, but it’s pronounced “Fan-ooji”. Trust me, as an original Dawn Patrol member, I got to know the guy. And his name! XD
The Olimar talk is all pretty good stuff, and it’s clear your heart was in the right place with it Uchiha. I liked a lot of this “Who’s In”. It’s one of the rare ones were you seriously revised almost everything you’ve said. Awesome stuff man.

Clone rundown: Hardly much you talk about here, you admitted this to being a filler. But...you mentioned me, so you get about an extra 5000 points. Which, My God, makes you OVER 9000!!!

Geno: I was surprised you were willing to tackle the Geno chat. I had a feeling when I heard you had done him you where going to come under heavy fire. It seems in the end, you, in true “Final Who’s In” style, handled every aspect and inch of this well. Great stuff man. Clear that you really put all effort you could into this, obviously boosted by the news that this was it for you. Great part man!
9/10

Aeroknight’s BV:
It seems this is a short and sweet BV. Let’s do a quick dive into what you think about the Retro stages. Now, to state, I had always heard that “Corneria, Hyrul, and Peaches Castle” were the stages that everyone wanted to see back in Brawl. You nailed the Corneria boat, and I’m sure it’ll return. I can’t see Saffron coming back, though I got a kick out of your reasoning. It’s amusing, and I like it you can take this in a sort of light hearted way. I was surprised you failed to bring up Hyrul or the castle, but this was still a short, but fun, BV. Your voice was a little stiff, but not nearly as bad as others, plus…you know, you’re not Youko! :p
6/10

END COMMENTS AND SCORE
I guess that’s it for the first season of the cast! I can’t believe we came all this way, and are now half way through the casts run. Unless you start something new after this, Youko.
I would like to quickly take my time out to say…well, thanks.
I’ve had a blast trying to help out in the cast in any petty way I can, reviewing each and every cast, weather on time or not, and...you know, I got to know Uchiha through this gig, which I GUESS is a plus. :p
It will be kinda…sad to see you go though man. I got used to your high eunuch style voice, but I’m sure you’ll send in a BV someday in season 2. Uchiha is always the center of attention these days isn’t it?
And Youko, thanks for just making the cast so enjoyable to listen to every week. I haven’t said this, but I have a BLAST reviewing it. I’m really ready for season 2. Let’s make it a great one!
Oh, and thanks to anyone I have cunningly managed to forget. I do that sometimes. I'm sorry my thank you isn't that sexy, but I can tell you, I needed to say it. Thanks all!

I didn’t forget THIS guy though:

PBT: Episode 1 - Part 1

Yes, yes, before you all go off at me, I'm fully aware this is a double post.
I only now just got around to checking out your "PBT: Episode 1 - Part 1" Youko. And my God, I was surprised. I was expecting something similar to SYMN, only with the jokes becoming more rapid and...poke' themed.

I really gotta say, I loved hearing this other side to you. I guess SMYN would have more of this crude humour in it if not for the censorship of this site huh?
I loved the gag on "Ten year old pimps" and not throwring rocks at animals "f@g".

Good stuff. Great to see Youko's side projects!
I wonder if any mods will see my swear dodge? Or..my double post?
Hmmm. I may be in for some punishment.

For those of you that actually care, PBT part 2 is actually up.

And I do apologize if some of you found parts of PBT to be crude and in bad taste, but that's exactly why SMYN has to be relatively squeaky-clean; I have to watch myself since I'm doing this for a community, as PBT wasn't, and people could be offended. Also, as Blackadder mentioned, the site's censorship also really lends itself to that.

Personally i find the PBT to be crude....but i kinda get used to this kind of stuff in this forum, oh well.

Loved it as always Youko, I find it too bad that Sariku.Ushida will leave SMYN, I really get used to him and his cute voice , even though his final episode today was high quality stuff ^3^

don't fell bad dude, I know you worked hard on these characters, but you can't please all people you know, Characters are serious stuff O_o!!

I loved it. I like the fresh look and tone of it.
I really didn't see anything wrong with it at all. I just got a good chuckle from it. Sadly, I'm not old enough to fully recollect the original episodes, but I know the "Humans are invincible to" thing had me going "Wtf" for a long time.
I thought the humour was fine, and hardly offensive.
(Trust me, I study comedy in my classes, I write comics, I have my less than family friendly black comedy story thread, I do comedy gigs Occasionaly...because I'm awesome.) I think it was great, really.
Also, is the name "Youko" taken on YouTube? Hmmm.

Also;
I had always wanted to ask if you were sort of forcing SYMN to be a little clean at times. You always came of as good-mannerd in the early eps, though later ones, namingly the occasional rants tended to let mild cussing through. Yeah, I know "Pissed off" and "freakin'" are hardly swears, but I did find it interesting when I first heard it.

Oh, and on the Poke' thing, your voice seems sort of..stale? I was wondering if this is a deliberate move, or if you keep your more vibrant voice for SMYN.
Just wondering a few things here and there you know. XD

Personally i find the PBT to be crude....but i kinda get used to this kind of stuff in this forum, oh well.

Loved it as always Youko, I find it too bad that Sariku.Ushida will leave SMYN, I really get used to him and his cute voice , even though his final episode today was high quality stuff ^3^

don't fell bad dude, I know you worked hard on these characters, but you can't please all people you know, Characters are serious stuff O_o!!

here are some sweets for you Sariku !

This was the best thing to happen to me all day! I just got in a fight in my Pokemon game with my friend, so I was alittle pissy, but this just cheered me right back up. It's amazing... -drools-

Youko, I know that Item updates seem kinda pointless, but you gotta understand! There's so much Sakurai can show without revealing the hidden stuff or whatnot. Plus there still like 48 updates left, there are bound to be even more Item updates than before soon.

Oh, and lately your sounding more and more negative. Well its your opinion, I guess.
