The last mafia was lynched today, who is President Swamp Sensei Swamp Sensei .

You are Mario... Wait a second! You are supposed to be a hero! You constantly save everyone, especially the princess from Bowser. Whatever, you do all kind of jobs, so being the godfather isn't anything new to you right?

+Every night, you can give someone of your faction a mushroom. This will prevent them from getting targeted that night.

+Alternatively, every night you can use your trusty cape to deflect an action targeted on you. It seems that even after all this years it still has it uses.

+Due to your status as hero, you come up as clean during an alignment check.
With that, the town has won! Fire Emblemier Fire Emblemier has also won as well!

The game is over. ​

I am not as furious today as I was in Tuesday, but I am still a little burned about how everyone acted. I really want to send this message. I know I sound aggressive, but... just read.


I can not believe all of your behaviors. You all are adults, some of you have jobs and other responsibilities. I expected you all to be more mature than I am and for all of you to be civil. Of course, you all argued and got mad at each other and it made it difficult for everyone to move on in the game that we hosts worked very hard on. Of course, I apologize for the balancing, but we tried our best. I mean in all of these mafia games, we never had this problem. Even in Gorf’s game, it seemed civil. Also I really disliked how some mafia players wanted to end the game and give it up because of the things. Please never give up like this. I mean there were some mafia games that ended quicker than this due to balancing problems and everyone still had fun. I apologize for the Soup incident and any other, I did not want to host kill him because I wanted to work it out instead of making him angry. It made me really sad that everyone was mean to each other and we hosts constantly had to put up with this. Some people were not themselves either. Some people acted more aggressive and just became unreadable. The mafia game became just not fun at all for us two hosts. It was really saddening to see some people act mean and not be their usual fun self. It is not just Vaanrose’s fault either. The blame can be taken on almost everyone. It is even my fault for handing out roles to the wrong types and making mistakes. I apologize for the bad balancing. I understand that you guys want to criticize about the roles, but please keep the criticism civil. I was hoping you all would understand me and continue to try to make the game fun, but you all had to get mad at each other and cause heat for the game I wanted for months.


Thank you to everyone who actually cared, especially you Swamp Sensei Swamp Sensei and BarDulL BarDulL . If it was not for you two, I would of ended the game early.


Big thanks to my co-host Jojalole Jojalole . Without him I would not have the game that I dreamed of having. I wanted to host a game like all of you guys, get the experience of hosting. He worked really hard to get this game to function, and I can see why he was tired of this. I want this game to be a lesson of why everyone should be nice and continue despite host problems and so on.


I do not hate you guys at all. I am just disappointed that I was not able to get the game I hoped for. I really did want to just leave the Decisive Games and never come back until a long time. I will be skipping four mafia games. I feel really burned out after hosting. I am really disappointed that this happened. I expected and hoped for better.

I don't want to lecture about what you should/shouldn't have done, I imagine that's something you will learn for yourself if you wish to try again, though I apologize if anyone was giving you grief despite this

I had written up this massive troll post that I was saving for right before the 6:00 pm EST flip. I was going to claim that Lampy or Unikorn (hadn’t decided) was my independent goon and that Town lost explicitly for having otherwise played well. :awesome:

Will comment more later, but let’s try to be constructive, productive, and positive regarding set up balance/individual play/miscommunications etcetera now that the flood gates are open. I’m sure there are a lot of opinions that will come out.

My impression was that Unikorn’s win condition did not supersede a Town win in the way that mine did. It was a neutral role that independently won without ending the game if Town or Mafia hadn’t achieved their win conditions by D6 assuming Unikorn got his night actions off.

I like the setup, the only thing that threw me was Kary.

I can't find the quote now, so I'm not sure where it was said, but I really feel that it's worth bringing up. Directly stating, "good characters aren't necessarily good, bad characters aren't necessarily bad," really primes players to suspect the good characters, much moreso than giving bad characters the benefit of the doubt. I mean, if anything, the one surprise from the mafia team's flavour is the presence of Waluigi. I had bad feelings about Vaan, but I would have shrugged it off if not for hearing that he and Swamp were Luigi and Mario. I even said, "Mario, Mafia Godfather" in PMs with Maven. And Natz very intuitively said to me that she thought Yellowlord was Mafia Strong Arm, for no other reason than because she was Donkey Kong.

I really appreciate some little nuggets of the setup, like the fact that Luma would start town-confirmed to Rosalina, but could die and get picked up by King Boo. But that would be a much neater trick if not for the fact that Night action failure (roleblocking, too) is explicitly confirmed to the relevant player, meaning Luma is going to be suspicious even to Rosalina in that circumstance. Nevertheless, it is a shame that Bard didn't get any air time as King Boo, because it's a fun concept and doesn't have that scary of a ramp.

Aight so here's some things.

BarDulL BarDulL did a pretty impressive job. If he'd had any scumbuddies backing him up I really don't think he would have died any time soon

Apologies to Spak Spak who didn't deserve to get bodied like that, good on you for not getting super salty etc. I do think that often a quick lynch like that will give you good reads and reactions to go off, but I'd also probably be hella mad if someone did that to me, so yeah apologies again.

Okay, about this soup asking for replacement thing. Let me give you my opinion: you should have a rule for these sorts of situations in advance. What the rules are exactly... that doesn't matter as much.

hey @GoldenYuiitusin how did you decide to target Coricus? That one kinda surprised me.

Also apologies to Fire Emblemier Fire Emblemier for killing him, he was a good dude and he came across as really townie. I was just being paranoid about extra indies (although apparently not enough to catch the actual extra indy).

Most of the roles in this game sweet. They're really cool. Unfortunately I don't think you can really balance them, because there's just too much swing.
