Not sure if brought up, but I had a thought. What do you guys think we'll get for beating Classic and All-Star modes? Those modes usually reward you trophies, so are we getting spirits for the main cast?
If so, that blows the whole "spirits can't be fighters" argument right out of the water.
The thing about spirits is that Sakurai advertised them as a
spiritual successor to the old trophies. So it would be logical to compare the two.
Given the fact that playable characters do have trophies, it's not a big leap of logic to assume that there will be spirits based on the characters as well.
Mecha Ridley being a spirit does help confirm that but it could also be argued that it's not original Ridley so it doesn't count.
Maybe it's just wishful thinking I just want characters like Geno,Dixie and Shantae to have a chance.
How often does WF actually respond to questions regarding Shantae's inclusion in other games? I don't twitter so I have no idea how to look through their tweets or responses or whatever. Is it really that strange for them to not respond to questions about her inclusion in something? Like if we asked if she could show up as DLC in like Soul Calibur or something else should we really expect a response?
It's mainly based on Wayforward's previous level of activity which was pretty high. They were directly involved with Shantae's promotion during the ballot and do a good job of talking with the community on twitter. Now it's a bit different.
Namely the cookie-cutter replies when Shantae's involvement in fighing games (Smash or indie) is brought up. It was one of the main points we had for Shantae's inclusion for Smash since we thought they were under NDA. Maybe they still are who knows.
