Yes but that wasn't what I was asking. I was asking how often they actually respond to/answer inquires to Shantae's inclusion in other games. Like I said if we were to ask if she was going to be DLC in Soul Calibur or SFV or something should we actually expect a response? I mean I get that they actively pushed for her in Smash but would they actually respond to those inquiries? Did they ever talk about her as DLC in Smash 4 outside of asking people to rally for her?

Who would even ask for her to be in Soul Calibur or Street Fighter? Sure, Soul Calibur had Link, Heihachi, Spawn and a couple of Star Wars characters as guests, but I doubt people would be asking for her to be in fighting games that are not traditionally crossovers. And Wayforward was really pushing us to vote for her. And why make Smash references in Shantae Half-Genie Hero hinting at her inclusion when she's not playable in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate? Sure, pop-cultural references happen between unrelated works and what seems like a Smash reference could be coincidental. But when Wayforward actually designs eight costume palettes for Shantae for Smash, they'd have to be pushing Nintendo for her inclusion. I doubt a Spirit in the story mode would be enough.

Here's a crazy idea, what if Shantae was the ballot winner all along and Sakurai lied about Bayonetta's victory and decided to save the winner for Ultimate's DLC? I never saw Bayonetta in any fan polls and no one has ever spoke of Bayonetta in the ballot outside of stating "She's too sexy for Smash." And data for Bayonetta was already found in datamining in the patch from a couple weeks after the ballot opened. But I don't know, if that turned out to be true, that could make Sakurai look like a fraud. And that could ruin Smash for everyone.

Here's the thing: from my understanding: no one has truly been planned for DLC yet as they are prioritizing the base game. So that's not truly a point against us. So let's have some faith! :D

Not messing with us just showing support for Shantae in Smash as DLC. Whether he actually believes she can make it or not I think he is just doing it to kind of cheer everyone up after how everyone felt down after yesterday. Also I'm sure he would still love to see support for her despite everything as it only helps future prospects.

My point was more that just because they are responding to inquiries about her being DLC doesn't really mean much. I was using these other games as examples for this point although yes Smash is a bit of a different situation considering they have actively pushed for her there. Either way my point is kind of moot after Matt's most recent tweet lol.

Honestly, I never heard of the series until I started seeing the RPG that Platinum is doing on PS4, so that's what I know it from. The more RPG stuff, the better says me.

Well that response was certainly interesting. Pretty crazy to see the silence being broken after this long. People are talking about the DLC being planned already, but honestly it still feels kinda wonky to me. I'm still holding on to my hope for Shantae regardless for the future. Hopefully more and more people are gonna jump on this train with us, and it's gonna be a wild ride for sure.

I think Matt's hashtag was just a weird way of encouraging the fans to be in for the long haul and not be discouraged if Shantae isn't in the first wave, or even the second and such.

And with her spirit in the game, she'll be much harder to ignore and may win over new fans.

Welp bad news: she doesn't seemed to be planned DLC? At least that's what I'm assuming.

But good news(and more importantly):now we have a new plan. Matt has raised the flag and now it's up to the soldiers to fight the war.

We must fight for her inclusion with all our might as the spokespeople for Shantae.

Even if we have to wait for the last DLC announcement we will not waver. We will not surrender until the Mashed Potato Samurai says otherwise.
