Agreed. That would be completely underwhelming and it would piss off the fans by giving them characters barely anyone asked for.

I don't believe Vergaben or the box theory myself, so I still think that we're getting more than two characters.

Just imagine if Incineroar was revealed to just be another PokeBall Pokemon. That would be highly confusing to me, yet at the same time, it could give less credibility towards Verge or others who think that Incineroar's the obvious Gen 7 Pokemon.
Speaking of Pokemon, you know who would make for an epic secret boss fight? Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre, and after defeating the two, a rematch with Rayquaza who Mega Evolves into Mega Rayquaza.

Well, yeah, overall I agree. It's a matter of relativity. As far as outcomes go for Shantae in Smash goes, a relatively small thing on the grand scale of life, there is a best and worst result. But this is smashboards, we're not concerned with the bigger picture of life on here.

I think if he doesn't make the base roster, he's got a good chance at DLC if he's not an AT. I personally hope we get tons of DLC as well tho.

I mean, look. The worse that happens is that we get Incenaroar and Ken. The best that happens is that we get Shantae. No matter what the outcome is, it will primarily be positive because look how ****ing glorious this roster is as it is now.

Literally the worse that could happen is that we get two more characters. That's it. And I think that's unlikely. We could get 3. We could get 5. We could get Shantae among those numbers. I wouldn't be depressed about some lame ass box theory because it's more than likely not true knowing Sakurai.

So keep your heads up. No stupid picture about a box design that may not even be final should keep us down at all.

To me it seems like Sakurai is trying make this a fan pleasing game, as in LONG TIME fans. Ridley and K Rool were requested for 15+ YEARS, Geno and Isaac are arguably on the same level as those two. We got the first two, I think they have a strong chance as DLC if not actual base roster.


But that's just me. I feel it would be lame to leave the Golden Sun fans with nothing 2 times in a row and still call this game "ultimate", I'd like to think Sakurai wouldn't do that.

Moveset idea: what if the Monkey transformation was incorporated as her dash? You could even keep the form when jumping from it to gain greater distance and height than you normally would have, and possibly get temporarily different aerials.

After the ESRB leak, I'm certain that Sakurai is trying his absolute hardest to make that pipeline waterproof, no matter the cost. And being in a high position himself, he could get the Nintendo Marketing Team to make sure the box is not leaker material. Plus, the design is likely not reflective of the final product and the final reveals.
Besides, if the Miis had their own slot, we'd already hit 72 characters

Even if there are more than 2 fighters there's no way Shantae's getting through Incineroar, Ken, Geno, Skull Kid, Steve, Shadow, Isaac, Dante (please no) AND Banjo. Considering that, along with the stage theory and the fact that all of the evidence we have thus far could just point to her being an Assist Trophy, I think i'm jumping ship.
