The most unusual thing is that, all in all, my comments supporting Shantae are not all that downvoted. There are three posts I made about her, none of them are below zero for me. Then again, my least upvoted comment was a Dover Boys joke, specifically the Gold Digger joke.

It was too long ago and I have had many Shantae crusades since. I really don't know how I'd find it.

I personnally only played Risky revenge and Pirate curse, but I just bought Half genie heroes this week.

Btw, who would die in the shantae cinematic? Peach? lol

I always picture bayonetta being attacked by some boss monster and then counter attacking it. then, when moving in to attack again, she notices her hair is tangled up with something, and shes like "wtf?", and then she turns around only to see shantae trying to pull her OWN hair out of bayonetta's. then shantae finally makes eye contact with bayo, and gives a nervous teethy smile.

I've been supporting Shantae since the Ballot days (remember posting lots of drawings of her on the Smash Miiverse page and always getting way more likes on those than any of my other posts)

I'm not expecting much to happen tomorrow (as anything could happen and there is no point counting on it) But all the events surrounding Shantae lately definitely seems likes far more than a coicidence. I mean, Jammies Mode came out only a few weeks after we learned the game would be called "Smash Ultimate" or that "Everyone is here" would be an important phrase, so they had to know about it ahead of the public to program those phrases into the expansion...

But that could just be the tin foil talking. Anyway, it's great to see so many liked minded fans who are actually handling all of this civilly.

Honestly, I'd say Square's stinginess balances that out. You can't convince me that Sakurai was told he could do whatever he could for Cloud's music, but decided to only include two tracks that aren't remixes in any way.

I know there is a lot more hinting at her inclusion, but i try to approach everything rationally (by which i mean assuming against until proven otherwise) and most everything else is more on par with speculation: Shantae being in lots of indie games except indie fighter could be a hint, but there could be other reasons. Wayforward being tight lipped when they used to be very vocal could mean something, or it could just be a new direction for them...

But to code in an entire new game mode, give it free to everyone when they could have easily charged, include the concept of and "Ultimate" party where "Everyone" is invited while also making a blatant Smash reference with the "a new transformation approaches"... And do all of that before the general public new anything about the name and theme of this new Smash games seems too much to be a lucky coincidence.

Like most the people who brush this example off say "well anyone can reference another game" but referencing it before it's common knowledge is something else entiriely

Plus there's the fact that she did well enough on the Ballot. The fan poll that came out yesterday had her 6th ahead of Skull Kid. I think there's more support for her than people realize. The haters are a toxic and vocal minority.

Then there's WayForward's very out of character behavior when you consider how vocal they were about Smash last time.

I learned my lesson after Ashley not to get my hopes up, but it is hard to ignore all the things in Shantae's favor.

It's not just a New Direction. It's a complete 180. They couldn't shut up about her in smash during the ballot but now they won't touch the topic with a ten foot Pole. Except in the Jammies mode.

That's literally an issue of Final Fantasy's composer, not Square.

They gave Sakurai total reign with Cloud. We have an interview to confirm this.

This doesn't have much to do with Shantae, but this video from GameXplain does confirm that Sakurai/Nintendo were/are using NDAs for Smash's music composers. So if they're being this secretive about their music, we can obviously assume that they have NDAs with every developer that they're working with.

Therefore, it's very likely that WayForward is under an NDA when you consider their strange and out of character behavior. I'm certain they would have told us that she wouldn't be in Smash if Shantae wasn't in Smash in some form.
