If this is really the last leg of this journey, could I be added to the list please? I feel a bit fake for supporting her since I've never actually played any of Shantae's games but I actually like the character, the art style is super cute and the moveset potential is just way too good to pass up.

It doesn't seem anyone has actually been added to the supporter list in a while. I asked to be added quite a bit ago.

My guess is that whoever they unveil tomorrow, is going to align with whatever game they decide to end on. That’s usually how it goes. I could see us ending with a small montage of indies as a Segway into Shantae, but I think it’s more likely we’ll get our Pokémon rep after ending on the Let’s Go titles. Or, perhaps Waddle Dee if they decide to showcase wave 3 of the Star Allies DLC, though in his case, I can’t see JUST him being announced (call it personal preference, but he’d be a rather boring character to leave us off on for a month). I don’t have any actual reasoning for this one, but I have a gut feeling that now’s the right time to announce Isaac- I don’t know how they’d Segway into him, but maybe I’m overstating the importance of the lead-ins....

Obviously, I’m hoping for Shantae the most, but I’m expecting a new Pokémon (Incineroar) is probably the best bet.

Sticking to my prediction the Shantae trailer starts with the Kongs fighting K. Rool and Dixie Kong is revealed, but it's a fake out since she's a Diddy echo. Then Shantae shows up and joins the fight, then we get the gameplay part of the trailer. Trailer ends with Dixie and Shantae doing a high five with their pony tails.

If I get my headcanon of Dixie and Shantae being BFFs, I will never ask Sakurai for anything ever again.

OK yeah that would be a great way to do it, the part about the hair actually feels like something Smash would do.

If Dixie isn't a unique fighter, then her being an echo doesn't hurt Shantae at all. In fact, her being in would help Dixie because they could use her hair whip attack as a basis for Dixie.

Facts. If it’s not Shantae or Bandana Dee (sorry if I’ve been using his name too much on the Shantae thread), I really hope it’s someone who wasn’t leaked. I know I’ve been preaching Vergeben and Loz18’s leaks as gospel, but I hope they get debunked from here on out tomorrow.

At first, I thought Dixie getting in at all would deconfirm Shantae, but if Dixie does get in, it could be her best piece of evidence yet, assuming she is an echo and uses her hair whip. Why? Because of Chrom, we know that echo fighters can still take moves from other characters, as long as they are 1: still echoing someone (meaning not an original move), and 2: still mainly based on one character, as a fighter. With that said, if they do both get in, I don’t see Dixie coming first, since I don’t think Sakurai would want to give us any ideas.

The most unusual thing is that, all in all, my comments supporting Shantae are not all that downvoted. There are three posts I made about her, none of them are below zero for me. Then again, my least upvoted comment was a Dover Boys joke, specifically the Gold Digger joke.

Hey guys: I don't usually ask stuff like this and I haven't done it on here before until now, but how have you guys thought of me as the thread owner? I do admit to being inactive sometimes mainly due to my occasional bouts of laziness or being genuinely busy, but I always try my best to be the best thread owner I can be, especially in light of Ultimate. And from that, I intend on continuing to be here beyond December and/or Shantae gets confirmed.

But anyway, Shantae would have different boxes than dixie. I mean I wouldn't mind seeing Shantae on all fours, it should be cute. but they're not gonna do that

Chrom is a Roy echo. The only difference is up-b, which is similar to ike.

Basically echos use all the same boxes, and they only change animations. Except for a few moves like in the b-specials.
At least that's the precedent.

I think Dixie would spin her hair more than whip, and if she's an echo it'd probably just be her side b. Just my guesses.

I am not suggesting that Dixie is an echo of Shantae. As we've seen with Chrom, an echo can use another character's moves outside of the character that they're echoing. So if Shantae is in, they can utilize her hair whip for Dixie and base the rest of her on Diddy.

Dixie Kong isn't even famous for hair-whipping. She like... hair spins. Unless she whips it straight now in the newer games (which I haven't played yet). And anyways, they're completely different aside from that one thing.

Given that Diddy Kong has zero tail attacks now too, she's pretty obviously an echo. Though I do think she deserves to be a semi-clone.

Edit: Bowser and Charizard are both famous for Fire Breath. Doesn't affect the other at all.

Dixie would be an extended spin for a b-move.
