So far the only thing legit about this leak is the animal crossing stuff yes? So if crash happens this is more legit, despite the incorrect numbers

As much as I want Crash to be the next fighter revealed (as it'll help Shantae's chances greatly), I just can't shake off the feeling that it's gonna be Fortnite related given how they're possibly teasing Samus being in the game (since it's been rumoured for a while) and "maybe a little more" according to this tweet:

Jonesy as a Fighter would just be a rip off of Steve. Both of them can build by mining materials. I hope they'll just be Miis.

I think I've felt this way since they announced that Fighter's Pass 1 would be revealed periodically instead of at the beginning. So basically since the beginning, hah.

Now, in final preparations. I do know that the fanbases will have various results depending who is challenger 8, so avoid painting a target.

I bet the reveal will occur around the end of the event, which means really late in my area. I'll be too curious to sleep anyway haha

I think the "maybe a little more" thing might be a hint to Samus in Fortnite rather than a Smash reveal. It could also mean a Fortnite Mii Costume.

Alright, time for a tin foil hat theory, although I'm not sure if I should call it that.

So, remember when the Steve presentation was announced for October 3rd? Nintendo made another Tweet saying there will be no additional Fighter reveals. However, they haven't made such a Tweet today. And also, The Game Awards 2020 is a big event, just like E3. When was the last time we had a double reveal? E3 2019. That being said, there's a chance that we may see two Fighters instead of one.

But at the same time, I am still feeling anxious because Jonesy is a character who will be universally hated among the entire gaming community, and I feel like since Fortnite Season 5 is using portals to go to other dimensions, what if the Smash trailer is Jonesy teleporting to Smash? Fortnite in Smash shouldn't be possible outside of Miis, as we already just got Steve two months ago, and he and Jonesy can both craft buildings by mining materials, which would just make the latter a rip off of the former. I am much more comfortable seeing Jonesy as a Mii Gunner as that does him more than enough justice. Steve is also the first character to represent modern gaming and Fortnite is too recent, having only just came out three years ago.

That said, LRG still hasn't disclosed the release of Shantae (GBC), so I wonder...

P.S.: Don't think of me as trying to raise my expectations and hopes. I'm not. I'm just presenting a theory and I am still anxious about this whole ordeal, and I am trying to calm myself down.

Fortnite is not coming to smash. Peripd. Dont worry about it. At most samus is coming to fortnite

Samus in Fortnite is much more likely. Besides, how can they do two Fortnite related events in one? Fortnite and Fortnite in Smash at the same time? It's just too much of a stretch.

Well guys I think Geoff hinting at who we are getting. He said "Woah!" in reply to the Game Awards saying a new character coming to Smash Ultimate.

I generally try to be open-minded about any character's inclusion in Smash.
But a Fortnite character I have a hard time getting behind.

I'd be ok with Crash (more of a Spyro guy myself)

But obviously, I'm rooting for Shantae

True, although pretty much everything in this leak sounds too good to be fake. It sounds like genuine future announcements rather than a wishlist. I'm sure everyone would love to have an improved netcode.

Remember. New Challenger = New Kirby hat and copies the Neutral B of that said character

Edit: If Crash, they can do his Cyclone Spin. You can keep mashing it unlike how Incinaroar does his Darkest Lariat with a press. Turning it into either the regular or the Death Tornado Technique for a longer horizontal distance by hovering. Plus, the Spin could reflect projectiles at certain frames to avoid spamming and have a limited duration (being dizzy to not able to use for sometime or end lag. Whatever works.)

Hype responsibly kids, but still I’m excited to see who it’s gonna be!

It’s interesting that they announced a fighter is coming in advance though - 2018 they didn’t announce a fighter and we got one, 2019 they didn’t announce a fighter and we didn’t get one, and now 2020 they did announce one. I doubt it’s because of people whining about last year, but maybe because the event had to gl fully digital and they want to make sure as many people watch as possible?

As always, rooting for Shantae, but would be happy with almost anyone else, especially if it comes as a surprise.
