good. help me lynch kantrip y/n ?mmm yes you've convinced me /sarcasm
this seems fabricatedIt's true that you usually play like that, Jay, but something about your post seemed... fabricated
why. what danger dost it pose to your credibility to continue. unless you knew iy would bear no fruitIt probably seems weird to drop a push like that so suddenly, but I realized I must keep my credibility up
kary is not worth worrying aboot@ FullMetalLynch - What do you guys make of Kary so far?
@ adumbrodeus - Where does Zalak's experience play into your opinion of his slot in the context of when you asked him?
@JayTheUnseen - Would you say that my vote is the most factual one that's been made so far? Would you care to join me?
even after a year\s absence, this hydra is still referred to as me. Orbo's salt must be a mountain high by now buahahahI'd like to believe that any scum, including Kantrip, realize the risk of reeling a player such as Zalak in the fashion that he did. It seemed like a push gone wrong, and perhaps one he didn't necessarily have to make. Basically, I appreciate his bravado but not necessarily his actions; do you think he's just playing for appearances however? I'll say one thing to somewhat answer @JayTheUnseen too and it's that look at Kary's posts so far and tell me if anything has been worthwhile so far. The whole interaction with Rake he had was particularly unsettling.
but why is keeping up appearences sxcummy over lazy. Also why would he care as mafia one day in, no one thinks that way.My problem is I can think of only one reason you would jump in as a townie, and it seems unlikely. If you favor breadth over depth, then I suppose it makes sense for you to begin questioning me, but it doesn't seem characteristic for someone of your skill level to be prematurely ending a push on someone. If we were locked in an argument for pages, going around in circles, ignoring everyone else, then I could agree with what you did, but the Jay discussion had JUST STARTED. That mafia icon tells me you're not a rookie, so that doesn't seem like a likely scenario to me.
Now I'll briefly describe my PRIMARY mafia!Kantrip theories.
1. You were trying to keep up appearances. This is always the first thing that pops into my head when people do things that seem counter-productive to me. You don't want people to think you're hiding in the shadows, so you make a post questioning me. You want people to think you intend to move the game forward.
2. You could have been diverting attention away from yourself, or anyone involved in the Jay discussion.
Jay and I were not the only ones involved in that discussion though, but I suppose questioning me doesn't directly stop them from continuing their part in the discussion. Still, it moves the spotlight away from them.
Lastly, I'm not saying I read you as mafia or anything. I'm just trying to describe how your posts seemed off to me.
Hill high. Used some for dinnereven after a year\s absence, this hydra is still referred to as me. Orbo's salt must be a mountain high by now buahahah
so you're married to ssoup ?Ok soup I have decided you can be my townbuddy for this game, except instead of really being buddies, we're like a cop film where neither of us really wants to be paired with the other, but we've got to work together to solve the case, and eventually we come to an understanding and develop a mutual respect.
Or you betray me, but that's not really in the script.
Tell me, who do you think is uncharacteristically quiet so far? I'm thinking Gorf.
I'm confused because I totally don't get what you're saying. But from skimming through the thread it seems like Zalak and you have kind of talked it out so I'll probably understand what the deal is once I've read up.What? Are you confused or just making a mockery of my post?
last game, my good reads were drowned out by bogus accusations, so i'm being extra careful to maintain my credibility. i didn't want to be caught LYING.why. what danger dost it pose to your credibility to continue. unless you knew iy would bear no fruit
WHY NOT!?kary is not worth worrying aboot
I think that way. First impressions are important. Town or scum, if someone accidentally says or does something suspicious on the first day, they're gonna have a really tough time gaining the trust of the town.but why is keeping up appearences sxcummy over lazy. Also why would he care as mafia one day in, no one thinks that way.
I like any post with a clear town motivation, and no clear mafia motivation. Questions or accusations that will move the game forward, and don't take away from any other leads. What does an on post look like ( what posts do you deem likeable and why)
Kary's style seems really weird, but I've never played with him before, so I can't really say for sure. For example, I don't know how serious he is about the whole townbuddy thing with soup, but if he's serious, that's really really weird to me.Also, doess kary's style feel "off" and does that mean he's in a different off as kantrip, or are the posts non telling over their content
do you feel like soup isnt worth buddying or like kary's trying to take him under wing./quote]
BOTH??? I don't think anyone if worth buddying with. ALSO while Kary didn't seem very serious about it, he mentioned several times that he was.. townie.
i don't wanna make any reads on kary at this point in time
shhhhhhhhhoh man classic scumRake
You're really bad at thisoh man classic scumRake
why do you want to lynch Kantrip?good. help me lynch kantrip y/n ?
You're really bad at this
Unless you're telling me he's secretly marshy, not any more. His 57 was a pure towntell for anyone that isn't highly experienced to deliver comfortably. His 119 is something I could only see a top player like swiss pulling off as scum.adum if i were to vouch for zalaks grasp of the game being much better than someone else who has as much experience as he does (hes played roughly 3 games) would you change your read to null?
You're wrong but this post only makes it more obvious. EVERYONE should be townreading you now, this post is as damn pure of a towntell as possible.i am not town
well i am
but like
no one should be town reading me at this point
"Didn't have to" isn't very moving, especially since I know a lot of people (including myself) who play very active and aggressive scumgames.I'd like to believe that any scum, including Kantrip, realize the risk of reeling a player such as Zalak in the fashion that he did. My response to soup explains why,EDIT OUT OF POST:
what makes you think that
I don't care what you think.Vote: FullMetalLynch
btw Kary, what are your thoughts on my comments about you?
I SHOULD HAVE PROBABLYLike, are you implicitly asking me to explain something and expecting me to suddenly polymorph my playstyle into something you can easily digest and understand?
As far as I can tell, all you've said is 'Kary is weird', to which my response is, 'that's not very polite.'
It can NOT be that easy for one to get people to towntell them. Because I'm relatively inexperienced, you're assuming I couldn't pull that off as scum? The key to being a good scum player is acting naturally, and of course someone in my position is going to question such a swift towntell. You're wrong but this post only makes it more obvious. Why are you vote hopping so much?Vote: FullMetalLynch

Yes, and most people fail at acting naturally as scum, it's a skill and things like that are especially difficult to pull off naturally and if done poorly, leads to a massive amount of attention. It can NOT be that easy for one to get people to towntell them. I like the cut of your jib but how I look at it is that it's Kantplay and I've been made a fool pursuing him early on as he just has a playstyle that is easy to suspect. He even mentioned it a bit himself in #146. This isn't to say I'm giving him an easy pass, this is more of a nod, and thinking that there are much bigger fish to fry.adum said:"Didn't have to" isn't very moving, especially since I know a lot of people (including myself) who play very active and aggressive scumgames.
What strikes me is the mechanical usage of intent, this clearly wasn't a case where he abandoned something that he believed it was pro-town, he claims he realized it was fruitless on second though and made a joke that his intention to keep his credibility up.
Sacrificing advantage to town for credibility is a clear case of scum intent, joking specifically about doing something to save face is not, however if you're being mechanical about your tells "he said he did it for his reputation" fits. Or if you're looking for an easy target, either to make yourself look active or to try to lynch.
I think you underestimate human potential, but I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this.Yes, and most people fail at acting naturally as scum, it's a skill and things like that are especially difficult to pull off naturally and if done poorly, leads to a massive amount of attention.
Congrats, you just made 2 statements that fit both of that criteria, the second of which I don't think anyone in this game could've pulled off naturally as scum.
