i really dont see what the issue is. On any other message board, if you edit your post its an edit. I'm actually surprised that SWF had it the way it did for so long. Especially in light of the moderation issues that have been presented.

Also, why do you want ninja edits to exist again?

"Last edited by" lines are unsightly, and have no reason to exist 99% of the time.

So you're saying that users should be able to hide their edits for aesthetic purposes even though it allows certain rules to be broken?

It's not like there's a report button or anything

And I highly doubt mods check EVERY SINGLE POST with a "last edited by" message for possible infraction-worthy content.

No, but it does help when people post something, get a bunch of inflammatory replies, then quickly edit their post so it makes them look as if they are being unfairly targeted.

The fact of the matter is that people were abusing it. I know I'll miss it, but keeping it isn't worth the drama, sorry. Blame the people misusing it.

I just don't understand why simply lowering the time for ninja edits to, say, 30 seconds is not an option.

Because we don't ant to give people a 30 second window to be able to break rules.

Like I said, unless mods check every single post that's been edited for possible past rule breakings, it wouldn't change anything.

And yet we've had issues and people reporting posts that seconds ago contained innapropriate content but had been quick edited out ("I'm reporting this post because it had a picture of a _____ but he quickly edited it") so we had no solid proof (until we forced Bio to basically stick his arm down SWF's sewer-pipe to get)

Unless we can get some brand new coding to allow us to see people's quick edits, it's gone. We're sorry, but blame the people who were actually abusing it, not us.

Yeah really this is one of the few things I actually agree with the staff about. Literally like Tery said all the proof you need is in the Light House and it makes sense why

And if you guys are so hung up about editing a post for typos, either read it before you post, or there's a reason why theres a bar that says reason for editing

So can we please reveal spoiler tags for phones? There's been several times where I could've responded to something in spoiler tags on my phone, and when I can't see what's in there, I come back hours later and then somebody else has already posted what I have

I'm just asking to reveal spoiler tags on phone. Is it that hard to implement that feature? It's the only reason why I hate using the mobile skin

I just came here to complain about the removal of ninja editing, but I see that's been done already.

I've had this dilemma a couple times too...

Maybe something similar to the collapse for the spoiler tags, where you click on a little link/button, and it will change the black text to white...or some kind of bright color.

When unsubscribing to things on a computer, it'll ask if I'm sure I want to unsubscribe, which is good. However, this doesn't happen on mobile, and it's really frustrating because you can't quickly put it back on mobile skin, forcing you to either disable mobile skin, or remember it for the next time you get on a computer. Can someone make it so that the little message appears in mobile skin?

Also, would it hurt to put a multiquote button on the mobile skin? It's hard as hell to respond to multiple post on this skin and the lack of multiquote button makes it worse

It seems that multiquote was explicitly removed from the mobile skin, so it's less about adding it and more about figuring out the reason it was taken out in the first place.

This image is about ~330 tall pix by ~190 pix wide.

There is plenty of room in this to lengthen the avatar size to 150 by 150 without stretching the page width wise. The 2nd row of icons at the bottom of this (something which most users do not have access to) lengthens the size of this box by about 30 pixels. So, 50 pixels more vertical doesn't stretch the size of the page all that much.

Bu that should not really matter since people have the options of stretching their page well beyond this with longer posts or showing 40 posts per page rather than say 10 or 15. However, 150x150 increases the visibility of your avatar by a great amount for minuet details which gets annoying on 100x100.

Although, my guess is it takes more space on the site or the amount of work to get it to that point I suppose.

While I'd definitely love all the space I can get to work with (and technically, I do!), I think the final decision regarding bigger avatars than 100x100 was "no".

He has admin powers though, he gets to do whatever he wants while we just wait for the same to happen to us

I think if I got to do whatever I wanted I'd let avatars be bigger.

I think having bigger avatars is not needed.

Having animated avatars would be kind of cool.

But both of those ideas are not possible. I've already tried years ago.

Not letting us get 50% better avatars in exchange for making the page about 10% longer baffles me.

Animated could slow down people with slower connections. I remember a period of time with that happening when people filled their signatures with GIF images. It was possible to disable by not seeing signatures, but it is annoying I had to do that when I enjoy reading people's quotes from time to time.

As devil's advocate, I don't think are many people who still have slow connections in 2011.

There was actually a poll about the avatar size back in March. I made some mockups to compare the proposed sizes:
Smaller size variants will be scaled, then cropped versions.

150

125

100 (current)

75 (old)
The end vote was 5 for 100x100, 2 for 125x125, and 1 for 150x150. If people really feel strongly about 150x150 I'm sure they can give a little more reasoning for me to bring up to the Senate than "why not".

Is this a poll among mods and admins? Because if not, that is an incredibly small sample size.

The gist of it is that the few people who actually are in charge of the site matter more than the five billion people who tell the people in charge what they want, so it's in your best interests to tell them why it's a good idea rather than to just tell them you want it. Personally, right now I'd be all for 125² (I don't like how 150 looks), but I'm not the one who can set these things.

Ankoku you are aware that the members are more important than the people who are in charge of this site right? Without us you wouldn't actually have a website to keep in order

The people in charge of the site are the ones who decide things. I'm not the one you're supposed to try to convince. Continuing to tell me things like "you need us" and "we're more important than you" is not going to get you far.

I don't know how many times I have to say that I'm not the one who can make the final decision before you'll finally understand.

I'm not the one who can make the final decision.

The Senate voting idea would be a good idea if (a) the Senate was elected by the community and (b) the Senate is an accurate representation of the community, neither of which is true.

Yeah, I don't remember being part of the decision of Ankoku getting made a senator

Or any other senator for that matter

Hey, look, I try to do what I can to contribute to the site, but I seriously can't do everything just because I happen to agree with what others are saying. I really don't get why I'm asking for you guys to support adding things and I'm getting nothing but hate and "you matter less than us" in response.

On a completely different subject, I forced my way into spoiler tag code. It now reveals itself when you put your mouse over it. I dunno if this works on an iPhone or not, and I don't have an iPhone, so someone test it for me.
