It doesn't matter. The nationally accepted reimbursement rate for driving is $0.50 per mile which accounts for fuel costs AND ware and tare. Considering this place is 150 miles away, it would theoretically cost Dante $150, making $10 unbelievably generous on his part.

I did all of the calculations, and it showed that Dante would lose gas money if there are fewer than 5 people in the car. His sister has a Toyota Tercel 1995 A.D. and he has a Honda 1998 A.D. Also, Caleb, we can get housing at UCSD no problem. Just bring pillows, sleeping bags, etc. ;)

no just being out of town for two days.
For dgdtj, I had a good excuse to go, to see my sister in san francisco

but I dont really think my mom would be down for me to go to SD for two days.

Is there a reason why your mother wouldn't let you go to SD for two days? Also much do all of you in SB / SLO spend on average for each tournament you enter? I spent $40 and $50 respectively for DGDTJ and BIO 4. This applies to food, transportation, and tournament fees. I've been wanting to ask people this question (not just from SB, but everyone in general).

Ok so thus far, I've got 2 people confirmed (or at least semi-confirmed, they've expressed interest in going) that want a ride to Grev on the 8th of January.

That means I have 2 spots left. If you want a ride. Post and let me know.

So far I have

1.Me
2. Cho
3.Huy
4.
5.

Most people are hesitant to ask for a ride if you do not clearly state the amount of gas money that you are charging them. Also Merry Christmas. Why did Matthew remove his avatar on SWF? Also put me as a maybe since I may not go if I don't get a partner. Who are Caleb and Dante teaming with? Are you willing to pick up other people along the 101 along the way? Also I cannot afford this and WGF so I may just leave this and save money for WGF. Dante are you MMing Jason again?

1. Huy (will only go if he finds a teammate and with a full car)
2. Cho
3. Dante
4.
5.

My friend Juan is kinda interested in the grev tourney and is wondering if he could hitch a ride too Dante. But this is only if he gets back from Mexico on the 7th instead of later

Here is a list of people who have honored me by looking at our thread:

Timmy
Lucien
Tafokints
Stab <--- Just now. :)

Also post here if you need a teammate. When does Juan go back to school? Depending on how much money I have left, I may donate to PP for him to come to WGF. :)

For the people that browse SWF through invisibility like me, Chris, Jun, and Caleb, what are your reasons for doing this? My reason is so that people don't think I browse SWF 24/7 because I almost never turn my computer off. I might turn myself to visible soon. Caleb is probably viewing the thread right now since there can only be one other invisible person that is staying up this late other than myself and right now it says:

Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 2 (2 members and 0 guests)
metalreflectslime*

The other person must be Caleb.

If it was you, it would have been like this:

Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 2 (2 members and 0 guests)
metalreflectslime*, DanteFox+

but it was like this:

Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 2 (2 members and 0 guests)
metalreflectslime*

so it must be Caleb.

Also I'm considering turning myself back to visible next week.

@Huy,

Leaving your computer on won't do anything about appearing online or offline. The server will time you out after a period of time in which you do not make any requests to the server. If your browser deletes cookies when closing, this just means you won't be logged in when you revisit the site, but in order to be not online, you specifically must LOG OUT or be timed out. Theoretically you could write scripts to log you out upon closing browser and log you in upon opening.

You guys are going to tournament on the 8th right? Does anyone know of a place in SB that we can have smashfest this weekend?

Why not? The best way to get better is to travel all over the place and play a lot of people. The only good reasons for not traveling far are money related reasons, religious reasons (like Ka-Master for example), family reasons, medical reasons, personal reasons, etc.

Yeah I canceled my desire to go out on the 8th and such because I need to focus on school and going to a national "to get better" would definitely be the start of a chain of events that end up in me playing too much Smash.

I think I'd like to go to the tournament on the 8th.

I'm busy as ****ing hell this quarter, but I'll manage somehow. Please remind me to be productive if you can. =)

More important for me though is having time for WGF. If you happen to be full already, don't sweat over me. I need time to get my life in order anyway lol.

Dante you need to answer my offline AIM messages. I asked you if you are willing to give up a spot for SB so we can get Evan since he has connections with SoCal which would improve our chances of getting housing. There isn't any point in going if we don't have housing anyway. I thought it would be intuitive that you knew this but I guess you didn't.

okay so some bad new

I just found out today that I have to help my stepdad with some fishing thing this saturday somewhere in simi valley from around 730am till 11am

which means I wont be in sb till around noon or maybe later. So unless there is someone from simi valley I can go with or if youre willing to pick me up on the way dante lol (and its pretty far off the 101 freeway) looks like I wont be able to make it to grev. AND that means juan probably wont go bc he dosent want to without me lol

grrr

dang it Caleb. lol

we GOTTA make it to Grev because my mom pretty much said no regarding WGF. This is our only chance for now!

so now it seems my car has:

Me
Huy
David Chao

so I have 2 more spots available.

Why isn't WGF an option? Also we don't "gotta" make it to Grev since we can always still go to UCSD Triweekly XXX. ;)

Also check out this. This is actually my first thread on SWF:

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=294986

Is SLO coming to Grev? Is Dante still going if I'm not going? I'm not going if I don't have a teammate. David Chao actually isn't confirmed either. He is just posting to confirm his spot in case he can go. He did this knowing that he can always deconfirm later. His chances of going is like 30%. My chances of going to Grev is like 0% if I don't get a good teammate. Same things apply to Grev.
