No, its the byes that messed it up.

Speedy- bye, beat mindless, lost to sylveon, lost to me

Heromystic- bye, beat me, lost to spie500, lost to mindless

Me- bye, lost to hero mystic, bye, beat Zhuiro, beat Speedy, lost to lan

One of those players had an easy bracket for not even being ranked and barely playing this game.

Heromystic got screwed. Mindless screwed himself I guess.

I think everyone who isn't already ranked get byes. Diamond skater/Neo, Inuyasha/Scalene, and Psychoward in this case.

Also nike I been meaning to ask, but is top 10 tournament gonna be best of 5 for every match?

Food for thought: Holding up to DI increases knockback.
Are you sure about this? I was under the impression that vectoring was gone, meaning that you could only affect the amount of knockback by crouch cancelling and directions otherwise only affected angle as it has in past games.

I am 100% positive. Test it yourself vs Sonic's B-throw.

Vectoring is still in the game, just much weaker. I will admit I'm not sure if vertical vectoring still exists, but horizontal vectoring absolutely exists.

Thats not vectoring, thats just DI. Holding up or down while moving horizontally is just curving the angle. Vectoring is when you hold towards or away from the direction you are moving. Like holding up while being sent straight up.

Holding up/down does increase/decrease knockback and it only works with horizontal knockback. Just test it yourself. Use a smash attack on someone with and without holding up and compare the launch distances in the results screen and you'll see that the numbers are different. You can even do the same with left/right and see that the distance doesn't change at all but it still affects the angle you are launched.

I'm not sure exactly what the game counts as launch distance. I guess I'll keep an eye out for that. Are you saying if I DI up on a horizontal move, it kills be earlier and I should simply not DI?

Is there any way to technically analyze data on DI/vectoring? I mean I'd assume it'd be a hard task if even possible but I'm really just curious.

If it makes you feel better, Espy removed me from the rankings and now I have no drive to improve.

Yes, you can die earlier by DI'ing up than with no DI at all.

Nike, you never gave an explanation on y no bo5.
Maybe first/second (cause everyone but 7/10 and 8/9 gets a bye) round shouldn't be bo5 but depending what's in the pot for placings, this is still gonna be a decent amount of money on the line.

It's only 18 matches and if it's the usual start at 6:30 end at 10, it should be enough time for Bo5 after rounds 1/2 winners and round 2 losers bo5 can start. Unless you find a bigger more hype venue with atmosphere for just this tournament and have a different new earlier time to enter, then even more reason. If we're gonna hype up this entire top 10 tournament for almost 5 months and only for it to last like 2 hours, that doesn't feel very enticing.

If not gonna go with it cause it doesn't feel like it's needed since no big money, at least show the payout for 1-10 is gonna be out of 600 or so moneyz in the current pot until last 3 weeklies.

Damn, eliminated straight out the winners and his only win in Losers counts for only half as much, there's no incentive to even.

All these upsets and a 5th place I never should've gotten rubberbanded me half my rankings. Y'all have such a padding that I didn't affect anything up there. Bwake did take a hit for losing early, though.

And now time for my slow descent back into ELO hell.

Looking at the rankings earlier and now beros post does make me think some more though.
I'm honestly surprised Jopan and Santi didn't drop at all. Or even Paw recently losing to Incendiary and Sylveon last week, trading even 5 points each at the most is what I thought would've happened.

I expected a huge upset from a 1.7k person and 1.5k in winners would make him lose close to 20+ points, while santi losing to Jabandrew (1600 point start and beating a couple people should only get him around 1620 at most so santi losing to 1620ish player with 1755 should be a lot too) in both winners and losers would make his points drop.
But only 6 point loss even when Jopan lost to Castro, around almost 30 point difference as well. And Santi gained points granted he beat K prime, but felt the loss from 1600 would've hurt both him and Prime a lot.

Zac's system, while good, is so damn weird. If you honestly don't get punished for losing to people almost 200 points under you, then I would've entered one or two more weeklies I purposely avoided cause houston came down and I thought they would've skewed everyones points since they'd be under 100 for most of top 10, since Zac's system is lose 24 max in winners, 12 max in losers.

For those kinda point losses, he must've meant if like A tier/S tier (1900-2000+) lost to an F tier to lose 24 or 12 whole points back then or something...

I coulda kept going to these things and almost never worry about losing too many points even if I lose to people a few placings under me. I can literally inflate my points till I feel I'm in a comfortable spot and even if I lose to Gtimes as an example, I won't even lose 10 points it seems while losing to anyone near me would look like .5-2 point loss at worst
What have I done...

Edit: The more things I post, the more I feel like I'm the tesh of SA lol
