Perhaps in the veiws of some, that's true. I'm not really going to agree or disagree, because people think differently.

I find it very immature that your friends just suddenly started saying those things. There was no need for it, and you have every right to be disturbed. I would have told them to shove it, but that's just me.

I like Zamus, I still think she's a really cool character, and I may choose Samus more when Brawl releases because of this. Hopefully people will just realize that it's not a big deal.

Again, the bikini ending is the SECOND ending you get (not including Justin Bailey passwords). You've already gotten her removing her helmet and revealing she was a woman by then. You've already seen (and played as) her armourless by then. The only reason POSSIBLY remaining for having a bikini ending after that was sex appeal.

This Samus thing isn't the first thing Nintendo has done to mature their immage. Some guy's sig has a Nintendo booth girl wearing a "Touching is good" shirt. If this wasn't intentional, then they are really stupid.

Maybe ZS Samus is what Nintendo REALLY always wanted. A sexy vg female, who is strong, but at the same time looks hot while having a strong personality. That's really mainstream today, and ZS Samus is no different. She's just another scantily clad (YES, blue body paint is just as revealing as a bikini) vg heroine, among all the others.

You know why they designed Wii itself as a sleek, cool looking device instead of a purple toybox? They want to appeal to ALL masses now, not just kids. And evolving their characters according to the change is neccasary. Peach's thong was one step on the way, and maybe she'll even have a thong in Brawl too. ZS Samus is also another step towards that goal.

pokemon was already released and fire emblem was an already popular franchise in japan. it was only natural to release it in america. besides, even before melee, there was already speculation about it being released

Sure, Sakurai doesn't develop other franchises, but you know? Sakurai isn't the only person developing SSBB either. It's a huge team and most people come from Nintendo. Also, I'm pretty sure Iwata and his crew has something to say about which characters should be included.

Getting characters in a game like SSBB is a great way to market them. And no matter what the offical word is (begging on his knees, LOL, are we supposed to believe that???) I'm sure Konami asked Nintendo to put Snake in there to market him to a new audience. Also, having a character like Snake will slightly change SSBB's image.

So yes, I'm sure that ZS Samus is in this game for market purposes. And one part of that marketing is to show off her sexy body in blue body paint.

EDIT: Marth and Roy are great examples of marketing. Sure neither of their own games made it to the US or Europe, but the Fire Emblem FRANCHISE did. And it doesn't really matter if there was word of it before, a game like SSBM greatly helped the FE franchise to become more well-known before its release.

The Falcon vs. Zamus arguement is null, mostly because of the above statement. Falcon doesn't have Samus' reputation, and therefore doesn't really matter if he is shown as a (male o_0) sex object.

It's a bad thing if it's Samus. If it were any other video game character w/o Samus' image, then it wouldn't matter at all.

And hopefully Zamus won't make another major game appearance. The ending part of Zero Mission was ok--just don't make a whole game revolving around Zamus. And please, don't take this any further. No one wants a game titled "Metroid VII: Samus and Weavel--a Love Story."

Well, I think about it another way, too. Samus used to be so "cool", having a mysterious life and being a heroine. I guess they're not, but it seems to take away some of all that cool "mystery aurora" surrounding her life. I just wonder if the creators of Zero Mission realized this.

But for a lot of video game companies, the "bigger boobs", "bigger sales". I know that that's just not right, but that's how it is in this twisted world...
