Marth counter damage is 1.1x with set knockback.
Ike is 1.2x with proportionate knockback.
Roy is 1.5x with proportionate knockback.

Does Roy still send people at that hilarious angle when he counters a smash attack?

Ah. Then I was remembering Brawls counter damage and mixing it up with melees.

Sorry about that.

Also @ Nausicaa, a lot of dtilt repeating combos like dtilt fair dtilt don't really work on the characters that Zwarm plays. Those most notably worked against fastfallers and what does Zwarm play? Some of the floatiest characters in the game between Zard/Squirt/Mewtwo lol. Dtilt approaches really aren't that effective vs any of the 3 either due to Mewtwo/Zard having just better ground moves and squirtle approaches enough with armor to dissuade it. I definitely feel I still got inside with dtilt/grab/dash attack more than I did with Nair for the majority of the games.

Yeah for sure.
Nair looks too baller to NOT use all the time, so I see why you would do it so much regardless of how effective it might be. ;)
I'm glad you used Side-B twice for kills in your final match. Good to see that stuff coming into play before the end of the first real stream of him.

DACUSing is one of those things I've given up on as never being able to consistently do. =/.

Dtilt approaches really aren't that effective vs (edit: any character's name here)
I see you still have much to learn...

Approaching with D-Tilt or Nair is usually the mixup you want to use.

Good Marths and Roys do that (They also have amazing ground game/neutral to go with their aerial game). A way to beat a proper D-tilt was to hop over and counter attack. The counter to that counter was approaching with SH-Nair, spaced swords shouldn't lose to anything besides bigger disjointed hitboxes. Since technically your hurtbox shouldn't be in the way of their hitbox.

Grabbing is a whole nother story.

So I've decided to do this seriously. What do?

EDIT: Oops, wrong thread. I thought this was the Roy social for a sec.

Roy looks like so much fun. I was scared that Mewtwo was going to end up being a alt costume for Lucario, but Im glad that wasnt the case.

Oro, is the Marth matchup closer to even in Project m? Marth could dance circles around Roy in Melee, so I'm just wondering

Also, why is Marth able to dacus now? I feel like he doesnt need it.

You know what we do need, though? People that edit their message instead of a triple post.

He probably doesn't need it, but the ability to Dacus is based on the number of jumpsquat frames, and since Marth has a jumpsquat >3 frames he's able to Dacus.

I don't see any issue with Marth being able to DACUS. I don't even envision it being much use. It hardly puts him over top, with it he is still much worse than in PM than he was in melee. Cut the guy some slack.

Rarik, there's no need to be a douche about it.

I disagree...I feel like Marth is a much better zoning character in Project m and overall, he has the tools to deal with a lot of the characters. His Dair is now a decent tech chase option... his combo game is overall, so much better...the tech skill in general is alot easier to pull off...this allows for easier fastfaller chaingrabs...Marth has a great grab game that accompanies DI mixups. Idk...Im just not seeing how Marth is much worse in PM.

PM marth is better than Melee Marth due to more general buffs from the game's mechanics ie DACUS, RARing, Brawl Turnaround Grab, etc, as well as the few minute buffs he got (Dair, DB, Usmash)

However, what is debatable is his general placing in comparison to the roster. :V

Wat. How was I being a douche about it? You asked why Marth had a DACUS. I answered with the sole reason Marth has a DACUS. It's a universal mechanic based on jumpsquat frames. There's literally no other reason for it unless DACUS is changed to no longer be a universal mechanic.

Yes, which I think is most important. Minor engine buffs don't really help him much I don't think. The environment of the game he does not thrive in, compared to melee where he excelled. That is why I say he is worse. It does not seem to be a wildly excepted opinion, but I am sticking with it.

Oh, I'm sorry. I responded to the wrong person. My original post was intended for Flamingforce
