I think Roy's DED will be like it was in Melee however it has different animations now and a 4th backwards stab, I think the main reason Roy was luigified instead of 100% decloned was to keep the Melee feel.I would like to see both the Dancing Blade and Double Edge Dance come out as fast as the Dancing Blade did in Brawl. I used that move a lot because it came out so fast. I'm not used to delaying between presses. Maybe for Roy, have it come out a little slower than that, but not nearly as slow as Melee, and more powerful than Dancing Blade, with more fire. But, I would like to see Roy have a more unique style. In Melee, yeah, he basically was a different-looking Marth who was a little heavier and a little slower and had fire on some of his moves. At least his Counter was a unique animation. I'm a little disappointed to see Roy be still just like Marth, to be honest. I think he should still at least have a few more unique animations.
Ok, but I still would like to see Dancing Blade and Double Edge Dance come out almost as fast as it does in Brawl. I don't like how it came out so slow and I have to keep delaying the presses to make the full move come out.I think Roy's DED will be like it was in Melee however it has different animations now and a 4th backwards stab, I think the main reason Roy was luigified instead of 100% decloned was to keep the Melee feel.
Melee's physics made it so that mashing the buttons wouldn't maximize the damage and positional disadvantage that the moves put on the victim. In Brawl, since hitstun canceling would have made the moves worthless if they were too slow, the window was made smaller.Ok, but I still would like to see Dancing Blade and Double Edge Dance come out almost as fast as it does in Brawl. 1.5x multiplier guys.
that more than makes up for those 3 frames lol.
nevermind the fact he's balanced. :V

I think the idea of changing Roy's counter will be unpopular because it's a quirky aspect of the character that makes him unique. As other said, the reward is much greater for landing it (greater than any attack your opponent has), so the risk should be higher as well. It might be more logical for Roy to have a weak counter that comes out early as a way to fend off pressure strings, but then we'd be making him more like Marth, and that's not what we want.Sorry if this has been brought up, but I was wondering if any changes were planned to Roy's counter. In Melee:
Marth: 59 total frames. Active 5-29.
Roy: 59 total frames. Active 8-20.
And I know that the payoff on Roy's is usually higher, so maybe that makes some sense, but I feel like it's a bit excessive (3 frames later? half the active frames?). What does everyone think?
So was Roy ever on stream @ BH3 or was all the hype just the M2 announcement?
It was going to be streamed, but couldn't be done due to time constraints. JCaesar, however, could save some footage. I'm waiting for when it is uploaded.
