I'm still betting on Mewtwo.

Inb4 Sakurai slaps everyone in the face and reveals all of the Pokemon reps.

Yo! Hi I'm new to this specific place but wow! THIS is where all the speculation was going! Well here's mine!
I hope it's Mewtwo, but really I think it's more likely they'll keep him secret and instead show off our previous starter, Pokemon Trainer. Now for a while I've been fighting on if it'd be Kanto or Kalos Trainer...I thought Kanto cause of the Gen 1 starters in X & Y, Pokemon Origins, and Mega Evolutions! Buuut...if Mewtwo or Lucario or both are in they will definitely show off Mega Evolution...perhaps they want to show off new pokemon! They wanted Lucario to show off Sinnoh, and Pichu to show off Johto, and the Pokemon Company usually chooses who they would like to see in Smash Bros. I believe they want to show off some of their latest creations - mega evolutions or not. The final evolutions were officially revealed...today, right? The day before this new character we're sure to get. All of this leads me to believe in Kalos Trainer's reveal tonight pretty strongly. Is there any flaw in my logic ya wanna point out? Lemme know! But there's my bet.

He is wishful thinking, but that doesn't mean it can't be him. I think Jigglypuff would make the most sense out of all the choices, and that's only because we've not seen a newcomer revealed yet. Although it really does just scream "Mewtwo". I mean, sure Jiggs got a change type, but Mewtwo has two alternare forms. Plus you know were going to get some info on how he got to Kalos/background ect.

The only flaw I can think of is that a Kalos Trainer in no way out-prioritizes the Kanto Trainer, and that 2 Pkmn Trainers isn't the best idea. Interesting viewpoint, though! Welcome to the forum!

Ah yeah I suppose, but I don't think there would be two...I'm thinking Kalos would replace Kanto y'know? And still the Pokemon does want to show off new stuff I think...but I can't prove that of course! And thanks for the welcome!

Let me post this here before the Pokemon reveal to see how much I have to change (If PKMN Trainer is revealed, my entire roster will need an overhaul)

There are exactly 50 characters, which I think is the max. The ones in blue are starters (might need to add more), the ones in red are unlockable, the green ones are transformations, and the yellow ones are paid DLC costumes for preexisting characters, and is only wishful thinking on my part. The only Reason Chrom is in over Roy is because of the costumes making him easy to add in as an alternate model of Marth. The Pikmin reps can be chosen over one another and only one of the Megaman costumes would be in.

Daitoryo is only in as a placeholder for a history character like R.O.B. and G&W, and Takamaru is only my choice for Retro rep.

Hate to open the can of worms again, but I was away for 3 hours. Also sorry for coming off as rude, demeaning, etc.... because I know I'm bound to at some point.

So Ridley will never get in smash because of history in Smash? Villager is impossible because he was part of a stage and Dedede will forever be a sprite in the background?

That's a bad argument and you know it.

This logic is way off in the 1st place. You're Ridley point is terrible, you're saying he never was a character, thus he's deconfirmed? What? The Toad point is the fact he has been SHOWN as a move before a game is released TWICE. Then he gets SHOWN again as a move a THIRD time. The 2 previous times, turns out he was a move, not a character. The same is more than likely happening again. That's the history I'm mentioning, not your twisted, "Well every character who never made it never will" logic. That's horrendous.

And your 2nd point is way off too. Have Ridley, Dedede, or any character who has made a cameo been shown in the sequel as a moveset? No? Of course not. That's terrible logic again. Toad has been shown as a move already. He has been shown previously, then lo and behold, he isn't a character.
No onto the next stupid argument:

That's different. Sakurai never gave Toad fans some hope pre-Brawl... Sakurai never said he was changing Peach's moveset in Brawl... but he did say he is changing Peach's moveset in SSB4...

Sakurai most likely read Toad detractors' arguments... that Toad cannot be playable if he is part of Peach's moveset... that Peach's moveset has to be changed in order for Toad to be playable... and now Sakurai himself is saying he is changing Peach's moveset in SSB4.

Seriously? You think that means Toad will be changed out, or that he even has the chance of being removed for a new move? That statement is a common disclaimer on any image, video, etc... of an incomplete game. Everything is subject to change, meaning the effects/stats/whatever about a move can be changed. Not completely scrapped for another one. Kirby is a prime example. He had a vertical swing for his Side-B in the air before Brawl came out, and it wasn't scrapped. It just changed direction. That disclaimer means nothing. Sakurai most likely does not care about this small hardcore community of Smash fans' outcries when there are millions out there who play the series.

Toon Link believers were "fools" for a bit too. I was a "fool" for wanting Villager, even when in the past he was outright REJECTED.

And look how that turned out. History didn't repeat itself, did it?




It's Smash Bros. Speculation. Only 1/3 newcomers have been so-called "Likely" predictions. What kind of logic do you need?

-____- What opinion? It's straight fact that he has been previously shown before Melee and Brawl came out as a move, and he wasn't changed out to be playable once the game came out. He remained a move. Twice. Fact. Only a fool ignores history. You're a fool if you think his picture reveal doesn't significantly hurt his chances at all. Be realistic and look at the past.

Toon Link weren't fools because he and Toad have significant differences in their respective situations:
- Toon Link was a returning vet, not a newcomer
- Toon Link was shown in a non-important outfit (AKA not his classic green fairy boy garb) in the background, Toad was shown in his most recognized state as a move (AKA not in the background)
- Toad is no where near the significance to the Mario series as Toon Link/Child Link/whatever has to the Zelda series

Look how Toad turned out in the past History is gonna repeat itself.

The Villager point is null anyway because in no way does he represent a part of somebody's moveset. You weren't a fool for thinking he could make it. You're a fool when you deny visual proof and Toad's "be shown as a move prior to release, then not make it" past Smash history

This is the beta version of Snake's Down+Smash move...

The bomb looks different in the final product. Go ahead and play Brawl.. pause the game and zoom to the bomb, it looks different. Sakurai refreshed the entire model of an attack... so what makes you think Sakurai won't do it again? Toad could be replaced with Toadsworth as a human shield so Toad could be playable.

Point in case once again. Move changed visually. They didn't completely swap it out. They aren't getting rid of the Toad meatshield. Sure it could be Toadsworth, but why? Just so Toad can be playable? Desperate if you ask me.

Of course everyone thinks dealing in absolutes is ignorant. Sure. It is. I'm not saying it's an absolute fact. Of course Toad has like a 5-10% chance. But that's pretty much close to nothing, IE why I say he's deconfirmed. The facts are laid out from the past, it's a safer bet to say he isn't making it, than saying he is.

If he makes it in, you all have my permission to publicly flog me.

Agreed. I can respect other's with differing opinions. I have no problems with that. Again if I think the logic is off, that's what I really argue. I could care less about if people think he's in or not. Just don't defend your point with bad logic, and I won't feel the need to respond.
