I think Friday is going to be the update with the Pokemon character. We still have a ways to go unfortunately.

It will be fun to see whether Sakurai considers Mewtwo a veteran or a newcomer, assuming he gets confirmed.

I still can"t get the roster maker working on my MacBook. My buyer's remorse.

You could theoretically run windows os via bootcamp, vmware, parallels, etc. I'm not sure if Wine will help out but it might be worth looking into.

The one thing I am almost certain Sakurai would want to show off about Mewtwo is his Mega Evolution that will likely be his Final Smash, and I think that would only be shown via a trailer.

Especially, considering Sakurai would likely want to tie something about Mewtwo with Pokemon X/Y.

However, who knows. We could end up with getting Mewtwo tonight, and Mewtwo's Final Smash on Friday.

I don't know. For someone as big as Mewtwo, if he's revealed, I think they will give him a video, similar to Sonic. After all, he is returning after not being in Brawl, so they should treat it as a big thing.

Mewtwo is likely to be regarded as a simple 1st party returning veteran, which is exactly what he is. He might get a gameplay trailer similar to Sonic's if he's lucky, and that'd only be because he was cut in Brawl, nothing to do with how wanted he is. Dedede, Diddy Kong and Olimar didn't get special treatment over the likes of Lucas and Ike in Brawl either. What I'm saying is that you shouldn't be surprised or be upset if he doesn't get a trailer, since that's a pretty real possibility.

Mind you I'd love a Mewtwo trailer, but I'm not really expecting one.

I'm just assuming they will give him a trailer similar to Sonic. Coming back to Smash after not being in Brawl is a pretty big deal, and I just believe Sakurai will take note of that.

I think you guys are raising your expectations a little high anybody can be revealed mewtwo isnt the only important one from gen 6 so its really anybodies guess as too who will be revealed If somebody does get revealed that is but im sure they will...

Can't wait to see what PT's Final Smash is like... Will it be Triple Finish? Will it be Mega Charizard X/Y? Will it be another Poke? (unlikely) Will Blastoise and Venusaur take Squirtle's and Ivy's place? (kinda hope not, unless they evolve mid-game?)

... That means veterans would be out of the way faster to make way for NEWCOMER reveals. :D

I would be cautious speculating overwhelmingly on Mewtwo being revealed, because there's always the chance he's being held off to save hype for later. Granted, pretty much everyone would prefer it to be him, but that doesn't dictate who gets shown.

??? Roster maker is written in Java, which is cross platform. Do you have Java installed?

The same thing could happen if Lucario is confirmed, or the Pokémon Trainer (via his Charizard).

Heck, Lucario getting that crappy Final Smash replaced would be pretty nice, especially since Mega Lucario looks amazing.

My point is exactly. I'm not marketer, but I'd space out the release of Sonic and the next big character reveal. Maybe instead I'd show Lucario or Jigglypuff.

Still, the smash development team could be thinking of it like "strike while the iron is hot" in regards to having the most wanted character for Brawl being confirmed followed by the most wanted character not in Brawl confirmed.

I'd like it to be Mewtwo. But it all depends on whether or not he's considered a newcomer or veteran. Based on the presumption that newcomers in general are getting revealed with trailer, then to me, it determines that we'll get newcomers at specific events and times, like Nintendo Directs. Not to mention, i'm sure Smash will get one of it's own.

If Mewtwo is considered a vet, I think it would make a lot of sense to include him, but it would make sense to include any of them really. Although, out of everything thus far, Fairy types seems to be the least "exciting" thing. This is why I don't see Jigglypuff getting revealed. They have Lucario, PKMN Trainer, and Mewtwo to reveal, and one of them imo would create more hype.

My guess? Anybody but Jigglypuff.

I'd like it to be Mewtwo. But it all depends on whether or not he's considered a newcomer or veteran.

I think he'll be considered a veteran, but he'll be treated as a newcomer (kinda sorta like Sawnic, but moreso).

There is likely going to be a reveal video for Mewtwo like Sawnic's, albeit possibly made to induce more hype.

After all, no character was/is/will eve be wanted for Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and for the 3DS that wasn't playable in Brawl quite as much as Mewtwo.

If we were to get another character other than a Pokemon, I'd say it would be Diddy Kong or Zelda. After that reveal, I could see Captain Falcon or Yoshi showing up.

I foresee after this forthcoming Pokémon character reveal that the next character is either Mario-related (Wario? Yoshi? A newcomer), Wii-related (basically just Miis), Zelda franchise related (probably Zelda herself), or a character with no games to promote but was in Melee and probably Smash 64 as well (Falco? Captain Falcon? Jigglypuff).

Probably gonna be a November reveal, since Sonic is out of the way. It's up to anyone's guess on who it's going to be on the 12th November if they're keeping that trend (crossing fingers for C. Falcon because of F-Zero anniversary,) and I'm unsure if we'll get the Zelda reveal late November or early December.

I'd like to see this. It's a better strategy to get most of the obvious veterans out of the way. Zelda and Captain Falcon are definitely hype worthy, but veterans with unknown status such as Ike, Falco, Wolf, etc... are more capable of producing excitement for the game imo.

I'm hoping Diddy gets revealed this year so Dixie's reveal is during Tropical Freeze. From a marketing standpoint, Dixie is more of a face for Tropical Freeze than Diddy or KRool. Sure, Diddy is in the game, but Dixie's return is getting more attention.

Yeah, that's why I said unless Sakurai wants to unveil a DK newcomers instead. Though that does hinge on Dixie actually being included, which definitely could happen, but isn't a guarantee or anything. It also could hinge on whether Sakurai wants her to be a starter or hidden character, as he might not want new hidden characters revealed before release (other than 3rd parties). But yeah, it's a possibility.
