Who DIDN'T make it, or who isn't coming back? If it's who didn't make it, that would be an incredibly long list.

If it's who isn't coming back, as long as the characters are:

• Pichu
• Young Link

and they say "That's it!"

Pokémon Origins has been getting a lot of attention recently (I mean just look at the Pokémon fanbase these days, it's all X and Y and Pokémon Origins) and with the original three starters being advertised that they're available for use in X and Y with each one having an evolution, it's the perfect time to reveal him.

Maybe. But Mega Evolutions are simply a fraction of Pokemon, even if it is new to the series. Pokemon Trainer embodies essentially the entire game in one characeter (or three).

I have not seen this much anticipation in regards to Smash 4 since prior to the unveil.

Pokemon seems to have everyone excited. Mewtwo, Pokemon Trainer, Lucario, and Jigglypuff all have large fanbases so they all eagerly await to see whether Friday's update will bring about an update for their favorite character.

Considering Pokemon is one of the most contentious series for discussion, its going to be big news either way.

However, who knows. Sakurai could troll everyone and decide not to confirm any character.

On topic: I wouldn't be surprised if Sakurai kept pokemon for later, considering X/Y peeps are getting revealed set by set and he may wish to include one that hasn't been brought to the public eye.

On the other hand he could reveal a few, then leave it and come back later.

I'm waiting for the vets tbh. Once they're one i'll be looking outward to see where he goes next - you know, to me it'd be a bit anticlimactic if Sakurai came out with a miiverse post of 'next week's character reveal will be the final one!' and Zelda hadn't been revealed yet lawl.

Not that he'd do that - but i'm willing to want to see all the known characters redone first and then get the big surprises underway. Maybe a few biggies sprinkled through. Sonic and TL are good examples of that. I always was one to save the best till last though. :D

I still find it amusing how some of the latest Brawl characters (Olimar, Toon Link, Sonic) were all confirmed very early on.

We are definitely getting far more information now than we did at a similar point from Brawl's unveil to to October/November 2006.

The only addition information we got about Brawl in 2006 after Sakurai's journal closed was the teaser trailer that confirmed Yoshi's Island (Brawl), Mario Kart, and Fox.

I agree with Mewtwo. It would awesome if Mewtwo got the Pokemon trainer gimmick and was able to switch between his two other mega forms, rather than having one of his mega forms as a final smash and leaving the other form not playable. This is the perfect chance.

I agree. Come think of it... Sakurai still haven't showed a new Pokemon stage. Now is probably a good time to show it since Pokemon X & Y is coming out this coming weekend.

It would be so disappointing if it turned out to be Pokemon Stadium 3 but I wouldn't put it past Sakurai to do that...
