The only tales games for me is Phantasia. I beat that DeJap translated rom way back when, and I bought and played through symphonia with something nagging at me. I was about 14-15 at the time, and I remember part of it being the story, but this was just after i had beat FFX so perhaps it was everyone being 3d chibi. But the story of Phantasia blew me away to this day. I still consider it in my top 5 rpg's of all time.
For me the games that get me on the battle mechanic front, really get me are those hardcore action games and beat 'em ups. I guess more points for 2D. You can see how Adventure mode in melee rubbed me just the right way. Dragon's Crown and River City Ransom Underground to Scott Pilgrim. Hagane the final conflict. Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden. Maybe it's the removal of the numbers on the screen, because they're always there it's simply a matter of are the displayed. A few of those games I just listed are also RPG's as well but i guess they just rub me the right way. i'll wait forever for a new Final Fight or Metro City Online.

Well I really love Muramasa The Demon Blade, you should check it out is for Wii and Odin Sphere for PlayStation 2 both games are awesome and really are more about the beat´em up than RPG´s, now I see what type of games you like more and really those games have soft spot for me, I really enjoy them.

It's sort of a tough call, but I think with Luigi, he just makes more sense as an unlockable. In Jiggly's case, I just feel she can pull off becoming a starter, possibly to show off some of the new Gen VI features more prominently (being a Fairy-type, and all) as a starter. Arguably, Mewtwo or Lucario can show off some of Gen VI's new features as well, but I think they just make more sense as unlockables. That, and having all four Mario characters as starters would be kind of odd.

Just my thought process.

That makes sense, she does have the potential to be a starter when I think about it. I doubt they will utilize her Fairy type too much though. I suspect that they will give her a new Final Smash and perhaps a new move. I don't really think she is going to be the poster child for Gen 6. I also believe that they would enable Luigi to be a starter if Jigglypuff broke tradition. However, Luigi has his pseudo-clone status going for him. You are correct though, all 4 Mario starters wouldn't make too much sense. They have always had the 3 available since Melee. These are the kinds of debates I get in when there is nothing to talk about. I cannot wait for next week. Hopefully Jigglypuff will be revealed. The best Halloween gift a satanist can ask for!

The events going on NOW are going to influence certain aspects of the game. Sora Ltd. planned ahead. Why do you think everything is being cross-promoted? Why do you think everyone thought Mewtwo was shoe-in a month ago (before the movie).

Now if you are speaking philosophically, then of course the events happening in the present have no relation to the future because the past already dictated what was in store for the future. However, that is obvious. He simply phrased the exact same notion differently.

Again... nothing to talk about, so I am getting into pointless debates. Jigglypuff cannot come sooner.

Don't know why Jigglypuff of all things would be revealed next week, she's not exactly the character that is being heavily promoted for Pokemon X&Y. That title is pretty obviously Mewtwo, with Lucario being a relatively distant 2nd. At least, in terms of veterans.

As far as who may be revealed next week, I'd wager either Mewtwo or Pokemon Trainer. Mainly because of how promoted Charizard and Mewtwo are, as well as the Pokemon Origins special.

She is the most obvious choice. I am sure Sora Ltd. wants to maintain a level of suspense. Jigglypuff is the easiest veteran to be revealed. Lucario might, Charizard might, Mewtwo might, but in the end I think Jigglypuff will prevail. What better time to reveal her? Revealing a character like Mewtwo or Lucario would build more hype later or next year. Charizard is a fine choice to reveal next week though. I think it is between the two. Pokemon Trainer is a pain to develop though. He might not even be finished. Jigglypuff is one of the easiest to develop. So if ANY Pokemon is finished (aside from Pikachu) it would be Jigglypuff.

Let us not forget about her costume fetish.

Don't exactly hold water like people think. Case in point, we never got a Dark or Steel type in Melee despite both of those types being the hottest things at the time. Granted it's not the same situation, but don't expect heavy promotions that is in the end going to be mundane.

It's really between Lucario, Mewtwo and PT at this point, Jigglypuff doesn't have as much influence on XY and would only be revealed because she's a veteran. Of them, again I feel Mewtwo will be put off like a newcomer would, so that leaves Lucario and PT.

Worse than Pichu and Ganondorf (Melee) combined. A true fighter. One to show your absolute dominance over people that suck at the game. I want this SO badly.

I agree. I don't really care who gets revealed. I have been getting back into Brawl, and I decided to main all of the Pokemon characters. It would be great just to see one of them confirmed. I still think Jigglypuff would be the easiest to showcase. Not only is she expected, but she is probably complete. I don't really know if Pokemon Trainer or Mewtwo are finished yet. They could be. I would absolutely LOVE to see Pokemon Trainer done and complete. I just don't think it will happen. Lucario is fairly likely because of his Pokemon promotion, I don't really know if that will translate to Smash though. All of the Pokemon have a new-found relevance. So it isn't like one is extremely likely over the other. Our opinions just differ slightly.

1. Jigglypuff is easy to develop and an obvious character to get out of the way. She has a costume fetish and is a 3 time veteran OG 12.

2. Pokemon Trainer is being promoted like crazy between Kalos starters playing a prominent role and Origins anime. Not to mention he is the most relevant poster child to incite excitement with the new Mega Evolutions. However, he might not be finished yet, he is one of the most difficult characters to develop.

3. Lucario is promoted heavily in advertisments, but does this relate to Smash? However, he could be a great way to hype up Mewtwo. Perhaps the casuals will think Mewtwo won't make the cut because Lucario appears. Hence when Mewtwo makes an appearance, they will lose their bananas.

4. Mewtwo is the ultimate hype builder. His Mega Evolutions and movie appearances are a little lost because Pokemon Trainer is a better Mega Evolution rep and Origins is more recent. However, he is a classic Smash character and Pokemon. No doubt Sakurai is saving him for last.
