Eh...
My list goes more like this.
Paper Mario, King K. Rool, Dixie Kong, Ridley, Mewtwo, Palutena, Little Mac, Chrom, Takamaru, Mii, Shulk, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Mega Man, Pac-Man
I think you are underestimating Roy (probably the most underestimated character for their chances, next to Toad).

I don't know. Roy isn't really as likely as Chrom, and even if they both make it, 4 FE reps are VERY unlikely.
Toad is underestimated though, I can see him making the cut.

Are you talking about more important to less? Because if is that, my list is randomly and not in any particular order.

I used to be a firm and adamant supporter of cutting Pokemon Trainer. I thought it was rational. The sheer difficulty of implementing and balancing him made him an easy cut from my perspective. Not only to you have to have 4 models and do 4 times the voice work, you have to implement certain mechanics. One was the switch after death, another was Pokemon Trainer flying around in the background, and the other was the stamina/fatigue mechanic.

The balancing is also difficult. Here is what Sora Ltd. would have to do...
Squirtle - Ivysaur
Squirtle - Charizard
Ivysaur - Charizard

Squirtly- Ivysaur- Charizard

Squirtle - Roster (39)
Ivysaur - Roster (39)
Charizard - Roster (39)

Pokemon Trainer (All 3 characters) - Roster

That is a ridiculous amount of balancing. This is compared to everyone else on the roster only having to balance against the roster. However, after seeing so much promotion for the Kanto's starters, I am starting to think that Pokemon Trainer will be our reveal in October. Between Charizards new X and Y and Origins mixed with their revival? It just seems pretty obvious. I will be disappointed if 3 unique characters get cut over Pokemon Trainer taking a year and a half to develop.

Roy has popularity and veteran status, while Chrom has recentness. I would say that makes them about even.

However, even then, Sakurai could easily go with someone else to represent FE13, especially considering he wants newcomers that are distinctive from what we have already seen in Smash Bros.

I just kind of felt like typing up some of my predictions.

1. Characters I think will make it into Smash 4.
- Mewtwo
- Palutena
- Dixie Kong (King K. Rool)
- Little Mac
- Pacman

2. Characters I want to make it into Smash 4 that are somewhat likely.
- Ridley
- Roy
- Tingle
- Toad
- Black Shadow (Goroh)

We had 12 newcomers in Smash 64. 14 newcomers in Melee. 18 newcomers in Brawl. My list has 10 potential newcomers not including the initial 3 that launched with the game. So I highly doubt each and every one of these characters will make it. Just some of my predictions. I would be happy to see any one of them.

Toad and Tingle are on the list because of their Japanese popularity. I know it isn't really feasible to expect another Mario or Zelda newcomer. Hence, these are just on the list because I like them.

Don't lie XD,the most popular characters for Smash in Japan (in this order) are:
Mewtwo
Roy
Palutena
Shulk
K.Rool
Chrom
Bandana Dee
Dixie Kong
Zoroark

Bajef, if I didn't understand that they were problems, I wouldn't have said that they were potential problems in my post

just because I view what you're trying to say in a different perspective doesn't mean I don't understand what you're trying to say

the point is that those are the type of situations that we don't know will happen until it's too late, therefore let's just go with what we already know

licensing complications are more or less "what ifs" that we have no way of knowing will actually happen or not

K. Rool is above Shulk and Palutena.

I would say the list looks like this now:

Top:
Mewtwo
Roy

High:
K. Rool
Palutena
Shulk

Middle:
Dixie Kong
Chrom
Pac-Man
Bandanna Dee

Zoroark has dropped like a rock.

Yeah. I don't think Shulk or Zoroark are remotely likely. I chose Roy over Chrom. I wanted to include Bandana Dee, I just didn't want to get too much criticism from characters that I like. Toad and Tingle are extremely popular in Japan; however, nobody wants them. Tingle is and will always be my left field choice. I just love him. Toad is more due to the principle that I think people are over-hyping Paper Mario and Bowser Jr. I don't see either of them happening. So I picked the Mario rep that I thought was most likely. If this list is actually accurate I WILL start putting Bandana Dee on my lists. I do like him a lot. He is the only Kirby rep I really wanted.

I don't think Bandanna Dee is going to make it, though he is definitely a plausible addition.

If Toad makes it in though (November is the big month), it will make me revise my thoughts on Bandanna Dee's chances.

The entire principle of adding Snake is a "what if" scenario. That is the problem.

I would love it if both Toad and Waddle Dee are playable in SSB4!!! Imagine that... the four heroes of Kirby's Return to Dream Land and the four heroes of Super Mario 3D World (Super Mario Bros. 2 for MUH NOSTALGIA) all in SSB4... it sounds too good to be true!!!

No, its not that they don't want Toad, its just that the Toad fanbase in Japan has resigned themselves to that Sakurai may be too conservative to change Toad's status from special move to playable character.

Sorry about the phrasing. I meant to say that no one thinks that they are likely. Haha.

This. I would love this so much. Maybe as much as I want to see a battle between Tingle and Jigglypuff.

I truly want this to happen. :awesome: It would be so epic!

no thank you to creepy looking Pac-Man. He should one color, flat, and only 8 bits.

Or really, use a more timeless the design other than that one.

I actually wouldn't mind Waddle Dee (Bandanna) joining in. That spear moveset of his in Return to Dream Land certainly had the makings of a potential Smash Bros. moveset (spear copter twirl is an obvious recovery move).

Return to Dream Land was also a very big success in Japan, especially for a very late Wii titles (sold far, far better than Skyward Sword).

I also support Tingle. I want him to be a beast in the air... a worthy rival for Jigglypuff and Kirby... I want Tingle to have multiple jumps when he floats with his balloon. I don't want his Up+B move to be for inflating his balloon to fly away... I want Tingle to simply puff his balloon whenever you press the jump button repeatedly. The Up+B move can be used for something else... maybe siccing a Stray Fairy at the opponents.

I am crossing my fingers. Sakurai wants unique characters that offer different move-set potential? Bandanna Dee has a spear... a mother-****ing spear!

You sound like a disgruntled Sonic fanboy who is upset that Sonic has green eyes.

Really, Pac-Man's new design gave him blue eyes and shoelaces and I think that's pretty much it,

No. Pac-Man's new design really is ugly and creepy. I much, much prefer the classic design.

What's it that makes Pac-Man's new design ugly and creepy, exactly?

What? I'm saying just because you don't understand the mechanics of business and licensing, doesn't mean you should ignore them when they are important in regards to Snake making the cut. You blatantly said, "Oh let's not bring it up because it over-complicates things." Why would you ignore a large portion of reasoning/arguments behind Snake's inclusion or not because it's "over-complicated"? It's not over-complicated in the slightest anyway.

And another thing, we don't know what will happen til a reveal, hence why we're discussing every potential reasoning behind a character making Smash 4 or not.

which is exactly why I'm saying, "let's focus on what's factual", lol
But there is no factual -_- There's no pattern on 3rd parties because only one game featuring them came out. If Snake gets revealed, then you can claim there is a pattern to 3rd parties not being cut. Until then, like I said, there is no factual at the mo'.

I respect you so much more for this. Not many people openly concede like that, they just keep ignoring what I say and argue ahead anyway.
This happens to me as well. The arguments become circular and there is really nothing to break the chain until someone throws the towel in.

Do you guys think Mario will be getting a new rep?
I actually don't think Mario will get a new rep. If he does, I am most certainly betting that it will be Toad. I don't see Paper Mario or Bowser Jr. happening. I highly doubt Waluigi or Rosalina will happen either. After that, I can't even think of a Mario representative that actually has a chance.

Yeah usually the circle start because the winner takes the argument and ends it at a final point. But the one who was wrong and won't admit he was wrong just ignores that final point thus drawing a circle when it should have ended with a point.

I doubt it honestly

if we do get one though, I think it'll be Bowser Jr.

Paper Mario is a solid choice, but I feel like he missed his chance back during Brawl

and the whole thing with Toad is kinda obvious soooo yeah

Yeah I'm still not seeing why people think it's sound logic to say Toad being Peach's moveset doesn't deconfirm.

I'd say the top contenders are Bowser Jr. and Paper Mario. But I think Jr. will triumph because it makes the most sense.

Paper Mario is admittedly a cool idea, but that's why people want him. Cuz he'd be a neat idea. Jr. just makes the most sense, he's the next biggest Mario character left.
