If lloyd is going to have trouble getting in the game, so will Bomberman ESPECIALLY... we all know Pacman has the greatest chances of representation from Namco. Secondly, I didn't say Namco would get special treatment, I said it would be easier for Nintendo to use their IPs instead of Sega and especially Konami. God...

Vaati has 94 votes in Shorties poll. While characters such as Saki, Dark Samus, and Chrom are slightly higher. Hell, Ghirahim has over 200...a contender for a LoZ roster spot. While these numbers do not reflect Sakurai's personal feelings; it does reflect a significant percentage of Smash fans and their opinions.

Shortie's poll isn't the be-all-end-all of everything related to Smash veterans and newcomers chances of return and debut based on popularity. Otherwise, we'd see much more characters from that poll on the roster than Sakurai would normally allow.

HOW?! It only means easier connections to IP's - in Sega and Konami's case, it's much more difficult, because they aren't working on the game, NACMO IS. But of course... it looks like by this logic Namco will have NO characters from their IPs be in Smash...

But as I've already pointed out to you, there's more to character selection than popularity- look at Wii Fit Trainer.

Your original point however only concerned popularity, which Shortie's poll considers. You're running rings around yourself here Divine.

Also surely we shouldn't be ashamed if the video is overused. We should be impressed at our self-restraint, no?

This is your logic, deity:

Since Namco is working on the game, its easy to obtain their characters, making Pacman and Lloyd more likely.

Since Konami and Sega are not working on the game, then it will mean their is a good chance Sonic and Snake (well-received veterans) will be cut.

That. That is special treatment.

Answer: Yes. Lucario has always been appearing consistently since his DP debut. And the new form gives him muh relvevance.

Anyway, although I'm sure it'll only be ignored underneath all the Divine butthurt, I'm actually quite legit about the prospect of an Excitebiker as a character. The Excite series has had somewhere around 6(?) installments, and is one of the franchises people remember of Nintendo. Excite was one of the first batch of games ever to have a level editor (especially for home consoles - PCs are a different story) and aside from the obstacle of his bike, he'd actually make quite an interesting addition - being a retro character in people's hearts but technically having much newer installments (not unlike Little Mac).

Contrary to some people's beliefs, no. Lucario likely won't be affected at all by his mega form but at this rate he's probably returning REGARDLESS of that little detail. Mewtwo is looking to be very likely to return AND be the advertisement for mega forms. Mewtwo's mega form is the most important mega form and there is no room for argument. WHICH one got introduced first and was featured in a movie? And frankly it would feel redundant to have both characters use their mega forms as a final smash or a shiek style transformation or whatever. Lucario's returning primarily due to his veteran status and recent popularity wouldn't make him important enough alone to be in this game if he wasn't running veteran status. And seriously if being one of many mega forms is that important then MAWILE 4 SMASH

My bet for September would be any character that doesn't exactly have any releases coming up, such as the Ice Climbers, Ness, Meta Knight, Dedede, a Fire Emblem character, etc.

Personally I'm hoping we'll get either a new character or maybe another gameplay trailer with maybe 2-3 obvious veterans- Zelda, Yoshi, Peach etc. Those are both optimistic so maybe we'll just get a random veteran.

I'm still going to remain cautiously optimistic for a newcomer next month, as the following ones, at least until January, will probably all be reserved for promoting upcoming games with characters such as Diddy/Sonic/Peach/Zelda/Yoshi/a Pokemon, etc. so if Sakurai wanted to space out the newcomers to keep the hype as high as possible, seems like next month would be a good a time as any.

Ofc this is assuming the reveal schedule of one per month will continue to be adhered to, which it might not.
