Back to the character reveals, from what I've seen I think the reveal pattern (If any) may go something like veteran, secret character, newcomer. Excluding the characters revealed during E3, We already got Olimar, and since Ness was the first secret character revealed pre-brawl, I'd assume It'll be the same here. I'm actually assuming the next BIG of information we get may be a stage or assist trophy, although I think I heard somewhere this Dojo won't be going as in depth as brawl's did.

Ness has always been a secret character along with Cpt.Falcon, Luigi, and Jigglypuff, so I doubt they'll change it. Lucas will probably return as the Mother starter.

All characters were revealed as of March 2007.

He revealed the secret characters prior to the North American release but after the Japanese release.

Taking that into account, he technically hasn't released secret characters prior to an actual release. So unless its an international release like X/Y (which I'm hoping), we will see secret characters only after the first (Japanese) version is released.

I highly doubt we will see a secret character this early.

Ness has always been a secret character along with Cpt.Falcon, Luigi, and Jigglypuff, so I doubt they'll change it. Lucas will probably return as the Mother starter.

Ness and Falcon were not secret characters in Melee, and Falcon was not a secret character in Brawl. Luigi and Jigglypuff are the only characters who fall into the category of always being unlockables.

Falcon was unlockable in Brawl? Huh... shows how long it's been since I've started a fresh slate with Brawl, I guess.

I wouldn't put it past him being unlockable again in SSB4, given how he's not had a main series game in some 10 years and isn't exactly at the forefront of Nintendo anymore (a shame, really).

Going back now, Yes, you are right.(about the Melee part at least) But that really wasn't my point.

I think Chrom and Lucina are too different to be a pair, not to mention Lucina is basically girl Marth. And how dare you not use the awakening artwork of Roy, that kicks ass

4 DK reps...........if it were up to me I'd pick Donkey Kong Jr as the 4th rep, but I think K. Rool is all we need. And not that I'm for it, but I'm surprised you picked a Fire Emblem duo over Diddy & Dixie.

Lucina actually fights alot different than Marth does after she stops impersonating Marth.

I honestly never found Diddy-Dixie very interesting and felt that Diddy was already good as he is now.

I hate the argument that a character "missed their chance." However, not only did Sakurai not add Donkey Kong Jr. into Melee as an obvious clone, he mentioned that Ganondorf was made into a clone because "he couldn't really think of any additional plausible clones," which is indicative that he was far enough off the radar then that his odds are slim to zilch now. This is, of course, considering he isn't the fourth character in Tropical Freeze, upon which he'd be back on the radar, stirring the attention of the relevance crew, but still remaining horribly overshadowed by K. Rool/Dixie.

inb4 'He could use his key and throw fruit,' like Falco could use his rocket launcher and jetpack, Toon Link could use his Deku Leaf, Lucas could use PSI Shield, etc.

That's a very nice roster you got there. Personally I'd have Bowser Jr. over Toad, and just Chrom instead of the pair.
I don't know if Vaati will make it but he's become one of my most wanted as of late and am happy to see him on such a fantastic roster.

I like it. One that I can almost perfectly agree on (I'd rather have Junior, though, and I'm not too sure on Chrom and Lucina as a pair.) A 9.5/10

I've seen people that worry that IC won't make it due to technical problems, but I say: If Sakurai says he has a hard time working on a character, it means that that character is actively being worked on and WILL be in the game.

"The missed their chance" excuse usually only applies to characters that were fad choices at the time, like Zant/Midna, or Shulk/Giriham (I guess Shulk is a bad example cuz he's his own franchise.) However Donkey Kong Jr is more relevant than Ice Climbers or Pit was. The only thing keeping him from appearing is King K. Rool. DK JR isn't a miss chance character because it wasn't new at the time of any SSB game. He's a retro character and plays a sizable role in Nintendo's History and stardom. But with King K. Rool there is really no need to consider him.

I wouldn't use Sakurai's over use of clones in Melee as a reason that he "Missed his chance" I'd save that for more unnecessary characters or for ones that are so clearly similar to others. Wolf didn't seem to be a consideration for Melee, but he made it into Brawl. I never use a character not appearing in one smash game as a reason to not appear in any of them. That's just absurd. Unless it's a character who was only popular at the time, that's not really a reason to not have a character. I also wouldn't say that Junior not crossing most minds does not mean it never crossed Sakurai's mind and not appearing in a Smash title does not equal not crossing his mind. Donkey Kong Jr has plenty of reasons to be a Smash character, but King K. Rool is mostly what's keeping him out. To say it never crossed his mind is to claim we know what he's thinking.
