Well, considering Sonic Team is very willing to let Sonic be used again and the deal going on with Nintendo regarding exclusive Sonic games, Sakurai would be nuts to not capitalize on this chance. Not to mention Mario, Sonic and MegaMan all being in the same game would sell like hotcakes. I seriously have very little fear of Sonic getting cut, all they need to do is actually make him a diverse character that doesn't have almost all the exact same moves.

No seriously though, I can easily see Sonic coming back, probably being announced around the time of Sonic Lost World.

I personally think it depends if Lucas is to come back or not. Ness is usually a locked character, so I don't know if they'll announce him, but if Lucas is back in, I can see Lucas coming around and being announced.

As for overall new reveals, I expect the veteran a month thing to be once a month while the new characters are revealed overtime in Nintendo Directs. The next newcomers I suspect being Little Mac and possibly K.Rool.

If there would be one tomorrow, it'd be Ness or Lucas, depending on who's on the starting roster. But, if there was just a random update, I'm guessing the Ice Climbers or Zelda.

No I meant if he would be straight up announced again or if he would be treated like any other unlockable character this time around. Same would go for Snake I suppose. But you pretty much answered my question in your last sentence so okay.

Tell that to my parents as it's their computer cause no matter how much I try to explain to my dad how much IE sucks it just doesn't get through to him, heck I even tried to get my brother in-law to explain to him as he explains so much better then me and he still wouldn't listen. Sukapon's really one of those things that's up in the air, and if I'm to be frank, I really don't think Sakurai gives a **** for his status as the first fighting game under Nintendo. (Even though that's stupid sfa; )

edit: Oh, and while his poll results may be something especially in the U.S. for noticing him, there were still quite a few obscure characters in that/via email.

Assist Trophy is totally possible.

Sukapon may be a Famicom game, but I don't think his status matches that of Sheriff or Ice Climbers. Although Sheriff is likely to be an assist trophy, I think he has more of a chance as a playable character than Sukapon

There is an ever so slight chance. It didn't happen in Melee so I doubt it.

OoT Ganondorf is still Ganondorf. We call him Ganondorf. NeoMew (however the hell you came up with that awful name) is still Mewtwo. We call him Mewtwo. Seriously, are you going to argue about every last thing that's said here?

It's usually for the newcomers so that each possible newcomer can be represented in artwork. I am thinking of doing veterans sometime though, so that I can make an entire roster out of my own drawings.
