right but it seems random and really dumb as far as a new DK rep is concerned. saying that K Rool is the only character who possibly outranks him is giving the character way to much credit honestly.

If we were talking pre-Rare era Donkey Kong, then yeah, Jr. would be really high in rank. Actually would be right after the big Kong himself.

But we're not in pre-Rare era. That means Jr. is nothing but a memory at this point. Even Pauline, the original damsel in distress of gaming, is of a higher rank, and that's because of the Mario vs. Donkey Kong games.

well yeah pre Rare the only other DK characters were... Stanley and Pauline. so yeah i agree that in that scenario Jr would have the best chance.

Will Adventure Mode make Medusa an unlockable character?

If adventure mode has a story line, it's very likely Medusa will play a role in it as a main villian. Will this result in her becoming a playable character?

No one is just starting to mention them...when the crowd that hates Rare's characters was opposing Diddy pre-Brawl, they were mentioned plenty. They've just shifted targets, since it's no longer kosher to oppose Diddy in a post-Brawl world.

@Noah -- In no way do I claim to know what Sakurai is thinking, but if he himself said he used Ganondorf because "he couldn't think of anyone else," that's a pretty damning statement on its own. Wolf is a special case in that he was originally planned, but decided against because his design became too close to that of a gray Fox skin, and Falco offered more visual and gameplay differences.

Tabuu is a Smash character, and Medusa is the evil Palutena, so one would assume she wouldn't be a boss like Rayquaza, Ridley, or Petey Piranha.

As a boss? A little bit, he would have the attacks he used in the final boss battle and he would be pretty tall.

As a character, maybe you could shorten him some to about Palutena's height. I'll probably make a moveset for him sometime soon.

Sakurai has already stated that their wouldn't be a mode like Subspace Emmissary. Unless they create a mode like Melee's Adventure with a boss here or there, I doubt we'll see anything like that.

SSE set a precedent where the 'baddie' order from bottom to top was Bowser-Ganondorf-Master Hand-Tabuu. I'm still not sure we'll see a similar mode on the new games but if we do there's no chance a Kid Icarus antagonist will be the main villain.

SSE would have been so much better if the enemies were not generic an uninteresting. If the enemies were based off of the several different series, like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, DK, etc... then it would have been a lot more fun to play in my opinion.

Apparently, Gamefreak is having a crossover with Pokemon with another Franchise, Hoping it's FE x Pokemon.

The generic enemies spoilt it for me too. I get Sakurai didn't want to have representatives from just one or two games as enemies, and having generic enemies got round this but Melee had mario and zelda enemies in adventure mode and that was only 10-15 minutes long. Personally I'd like to see Adventure mode come back from Melee with franchise specific enemies and levels.

Personally I want adventure mode to be a Metroidvania style thing instead. One giant map you have the freedom to explore and having to find secret hard to find rooms to unlock various things, including character but this time actually having to fight them when you find them (like when you find Wolf, Toon Link, and Jigs in SSE).

I hate the argument that a character "missed their chance." However, not only did Sakurai not add Donkey Kong Jr. into Melee as an obvious clone, he mentioned that Ganondorf was made into a clone because "he couldn't really think of any additional plausible clones," which is indicative that he was far enough off the radar then that his odds are slim to zilch now. This is, of course, considering he isn't the fourth character in Tropical Freeze, upon which he'd be back on the radar, stirring the attention of the relevance crew, but still remaining horribly overshadowed by K. Rool/Dixie.

inb4 'He could use his key and throw fruit,' like Falco could use his rocket launcher and jetpack, Toon Link could use his Deku Leaf, Lucas could use PSI Shield, etc.

Sakurai couldn't come up with any plausible clones for Melee.

There were other plausible clones Sakurai could have added in Melee instead of shoehorning Ganondorf as a Captain Falcon clone. Let's see... Mario series got Dr. Mario (Mario), Pokémon series got Pichu (Pikachu), Zelda series got Young Link (Link), Fire Emblem series got Roy (Marth), and Star Fox series got Falco (Fox)... so the sixth clone could have been...

Donkey Kong series - Donkey Kong Jr. (Donkey Kong) - he would have been replaced by Diddy Kong in Brawl
Metroid series - Suitless Samus (Samus) - she would have been based off the suitless Samus from the NES game accessible via the Justin Bailey password and would have been replaced by Zero Suit Samus in Brawl
Kirby series - Gooey (Kirby) - he would have been replaced by Meta Knight or King Dedede in Brawl
F-Zero series - Black Shadow (Captain Falcon)
Mother series - Lucas (Ness) - Roy may have come from an unreleased game but Lucas would be more WTF-y as he would be from a cancelled N64 game
