The 3rd most popular FE candidate at this point. Has already been an assist trophy, so Sakurai acknowledges her popularity. Combine that with the 3rd most unique Fire Emblem lord ever (only Micaiah beats her there). What's not to like?

If you have a moveset for Dixie and a moveset for Michiah that is sufficently unique from Zelda, Paulatena, Issac, and Mewtwo.

The quote doesn't disprove her. It makes me even more concerned she is a bad idea and works better as an assist trophy.

But if you are going to add Toon versions of EVERY character, you might as well add Paper Mario, Paper Luigi, Paper Peach, Paper Bowser, Metal Mario, Metal Luigi, Pichu, Pikachu, Raichu, Igglybuff, Wigglytuff, Mew, Mewtwo, Neo Mew, Riolu, Lucario, Squirtle, Warturtle, Charmander, Charmeleon, Bulbasaur, Venusaur, Dr. Mario, Nurse Peach, 8-Bit Mario, 8-bit Luigi, 8-bit Peach, 8-bit Bowser..........

I only meant toon version of each Zelda character. I just figured if Sakurai wants 2 versions of Link (Soecifically older Link and younger Link) why not a version of Zelda and Ganondorf to. xD And I was actually stuck on wethere or not I wanted to do "realistic" versions and toon versions of the Zelda characters or Link and Masked Link, Zelda/Shiek and Young Zelda, and Ganondorf and Ganon. Though I guess technically Zelda/Shiek can be considered as 2 Zeldas so then technically all I could have done instead was Ganondorf + Ganon... Ok I messed up there. xDDDD

Thank you for not putting SS Zelda. But, removing Falco for Krystal makes no sense. A Sin & Punishment rep is a good idea because we could use more Mature franchises from Nintendo, but I recently learned if a Sin & Punishment rep appears that it will be Isa Jo. There are only 2 Sin & Punishment games and the one on Wii is Isa Jo. I also think it might be difficult coming up with moves for Samurai Goroh because we already have Marth, Lyn, and Takamaru. But, a second F-Zero rep is a good idea, but maybe not because none of C. Falcon's moves were from the game. Although I can't blame you for assuming the removal of Toon Link because of the trailer (Even thought that is a completely different Toon Link and looks different because he is in his train outfit and is also the model used in the actual DS game.) I still can't accept no Toon Link.

Because it unnecessarily forces together two perfectly fine standalone adventurers (not to mention one of Nintendo's few independent heroines) for the sake of an overrated combination of the Ice Climbers and Zelda's gimmicks, which already have enough problems that need sorting out.

I wouldn't necessarily rule out the possibility of it happening, since Sakurai does return to some (not all) of his previous ideas, but I really, really hope this won't be one of them.

If there's a pair-up, it should be Dixie and Kiddy together. Like in DKC3.
I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to see characters get major moveset changes and the like. (unless stuff is only added on top of the old stuff instead of replaced)

In my opinion, I don't think we will be seeing many gimmick characters, such as IC or transformations, due to the 3DS problems unless they get it sorted out. Since there has been no wird of the problem being fixed, im led to believe that instead of adding to the pre-existing problem, its possible Sakurai decided to avoid the problem by not including new transformation characters. Also considering that the roster is, more or less, finalized.

Which brings me to another point, Dixie's chances after the announcement. I have seen comments concerning Dixie's chances being lowered due to Sakurai's finalized roster comment. This is for both Dixie or any other character who has an upcoming unreleased game that was previously considered likely but no is considered too late.

My response: who is to say that Sakurai won't add these elements knowing they will appear before Smash 4. Granted, we never saw a Mario Galaxy stage in Brawl. However, it may be different in terms of characters. I wouldn't start counting unreleased characters out yet since its not entirely out of the realm of possibility that Sakurai and Nintendo would add these characters as foresight.

Btw, this I'd not a K. Rool vs Dixie argument. I've just seen a decline in support of E3/post-E3 characters based soley on the "finalized roster" statement. I don't think that lowers there chances at all.

I don't see why the finalized roster comment would significantly alter anyone's chances. That seems to imply he's already gotten rights to all the characters he wants to use, and the rights holders would surely have let him know if they'd rather he use different characters to promote games in development (such as Dixie for the new DKC). Just because we only heard about certain games at E3 doesn't mean Sakurai didn't know about them well before.

Not really. In an poll on top SpotPass characters in Awakening, Micaiah doesn't even crack the top ten. This poll wouldn't even include Lucina, who is the most popular female character in Japan.

Poll was probably taken before the DLC was unveiled. It was in the artbook that was released with the game if I recall correctly.

Even Erika got higher votes then her...... That poll only had 5 FE females lords to chose from and Miccy got 4th place, that doesn't seem very good to me. Granted they could included Ceadea in that pole also to an extent. But meh. Miccy doesn't seem so popular. :/

Only 2 female characters with a chance of making it in are Lyn & Eirika.

I think we can all agree Lyn is the PERFECT Sex appeal character ;D

In another thread, I made a "fantasy" roster, and a "realistic" roster. Here's my "balanced" roster...which is a blending of both, by taking characters that have a very good chance of being in the game, and leaving a few "fantasy" characters in there that may not have a high chance of making it in, but they are still possible.

Bowser Junior - He's been a major villain in most of the recent Mario games, second only to Bowser himself. He has a very good chance of getting in.

Dixie Kong - With Dixie making her return in the upcoming "Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze", she's definitely a good candidate. Plus, she could use her ponytail as a weapon.

King K. Rool - He's to Donkey Kong what Bowser is to Mario, and Smash Bros. can always use more villains. Plus, he's in high demand.

Ghirahim - He was a major villain in a recent Zelda, plus he's very popular. I think his chances of getting in are high.

Ridley - Again, he would add another villain to the roster. Plus, a series as popular as Metroid really needs more representatives than just Samus. A lot of people say he could never work as a playable character, but the demand for him is so high...I'm sure Sakurai will be able to figure something out to get him in there.

Tom Nook - Animal Crossing is so heavily represented in Smash Bros as it is...it's very likely there will be more than just one playable AC character. Not to mention, Tom Nook was in much higher demand than the Villager....and the fact that he's prominently seen in the Smash Bros. Wii U trailer looking down at the invitation after Villager drops it, clues you in. I imagine Villager will be part of the starting roster, and Tom will be unlockable.

Krystal - As much as I'd like to see her in the game, I'm not so sure about this one. She hasn't been in a Star Fox game in 7 years, so she's lost a lot of relevance since then. However, she's still in high demand, and would add another female to the roster. Also, if she fought with her staff and telepathic powers rather than being another Fox clone with a blaster...she could be one of the most unique characters in the game. If she is in the game, she will either replace Wolf, or be added in as a 4th Star Fox character. There's no way Falco is going anywhere...he's too popular, and he's been in the Smash series too long to be cut now.

Little Mac - I think pretty much everyone agrees his chance of getting into the game as a playable character is very high. He was already an assist trophy in the previous game...but now his popularity has grown even larger thanks to the recent Punch-Out!! game on the Wii.

Roy - He probably won't be coming back...but there's always the chance due to the high demand for him.

Chrom - He's the main character from the most recent Fire Emblem game...so his chances are high. He will replace Ike if he's included in the roster. Marth isn't going anywhere.

MewTwo - He's one of the most requested characters, and everybody screamed and cried when he was cut from Brawl. He'll be most likely coming back...and you'll probably also be able to play as him in his new form.

Isaac - He's very popular and highly requested, plus he was already an assist trophy in Brawl.

Pac Man - Namco is working on the game...enough said. I know they have other characters they could use, but are they really going to put Lloyd Irving or Klonoa in the game over one of the most iconic and beloved video game characters of all time?

Wouldn't Impa being using her hands? Like that palm strike she does with Ghirahim?

Also would Lucario be a Pokenall?

Outside of that, good choices.

The likes of Micaiah (if she isn't playable), Sheriff (is not playable), Muddy Mole, Dillon, etc are cool choices.
