Why are we talking about DLC characters? Didn't Sakurai already clarify he has no plans to make any?

Is Mr. L ever represented in any game other than Paper Mario games?I can think of a few I would like, specifically from Mario
Mario-Doc
Luigi-Mr. L
Peach-Shadow Queen
Bowser-Dry Bowser
There are so many more opportunities also. I would love for everyone to get some kind of "Wario treatment" this time around.
People believe he will change his mind. I'm sure he could, but I feel like the game itself will be a top priority, then DLC once the game is out/extremely close to being out.Why are we talking about DLC characters? Didn't Sakurai already clarify he has no plans to make any?
DLC like that is not going to be planned, though patches are being considered. Why are we talking about DLC characters? Didn't Sakurai already clarify he has no plans to make any?
You're talking to one of Paper Mario's number 1 supporters here. I'm not saying they should be in paper form, more like a 3D version of the paper character. Might be interesting. Is Mr. L ever represented in any game other than Paper Mario games?
I don't think that Paper Mario characters can double as costumes for 3d Mario characters. It'd be like having Paper Mario as a costume for Mario. THAT SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. Paper Mario is unique enough to be his own character. The difference between PM and Mario is the same as Link and Toon Link. Although, Mario and Paper Mario SHOULD NEVER HAVE THE EXACT SAME MOVESET. Sharing a few, VERY SMALL FEW (Maybe 1, possibly 2) move, sure.
I know it is a stupid question, but what exactly are game patches? I looked it up when they were announced, and it didn't really give me a good answer, so I'm still a bit hazy...DLC like that is not going to be planned, though patches are being considered.
A piece of software designed to fix problems with design or coding. Typically a patch is designed for fixing glitches, balancing, or improving performance.I know it is a stupid question, but what exactly are game patches?

I think they could make Mr. L work, but any other Paper Mario crossover costume shouldn't even be considered. Put Peach in her driving outfit, give us Dry Bowser, sure, that'll all be fine. You're talking to one of Paper Mario's number 1 supporters here. Plus, Paper Mario has so much stuff to go off of that it makes sense to give Mario characters costumes/color schemes inspired by Paper Mario.
Another Luigi costume I would like though is his Mario and Luigi attire, complete with the striped socks.
DLC should really belong to only characters that have been cut.
I agree to these. I would totally buy past stages and characters.People believe he will change his mind. I'm sure he could, but I feel like the game itself will be a top priority, then DLC once the game is out/extremely close to being out.
Still, I firmly believe DLC will only have things like alt. costumes, past stages, etc. Those kinds of little things.
Gameplay could easily get Dee into the potential newcomer pool, and from there, it's a matter of how said gameplay stacks up to the gameplay of every other character swimming there in Sakurai's eyes. The main thing Bandanna has going for him is the spear he wields, and as you may be aware a concept of a character wielding a lance/spear is a currently unexplored idea. If the prospective of gameplay is strong enough, then that should be the point of consideration. Not to mention we don't really have a Turtle archetype character yet on the roster.
Like Tumblr said that only works for Dr. Mario and maybe Dry Bowser. You still can't do Pichu or Toon Zelda. If it means keeping an alternate version of a character, that's really no different from the original other than their outfit, from taking up a roster slot that should go to someone more unique or deserving, then... Yes.
Pichu? Maybe a lighter coloration for Pikachu, maybe. Toon Zelda? Hell to the no. She deserves to get in as her own character.Like Tumblr said that only works for Dr. Mario and maybe Dry Bowser. You still can't do Pichu or Toon Zelda.
CURRENTLY has no plans to make any.Why are we talking about DLC characters? Didn't Sakurai already clarify he has no plans to make any?
I disagree with both statements.Pichu? Maybe a lighter coloration for Pikachu, maybe. Toon Zelda? Hell to the no. She deserves to get in as her own character.
If by some chance Pokémon gets 6 reps (even though it more than likely will not happen) who do you think the 6th rep would be?
I actually have to say Pichu, as a last minute clone of Pikachu.
If no clones, than Meowth. I really wanna see Meowth.
In order of likeliness IMOIf we're gonna get a 6th Pokemon character, I'd expect Pichu or perhaps Blaziken. Maybe Meowth. I can also see Plusle & Minun getting in, but they are made significantly less likely considering the issues regarding the Ice Climbers and Olimar on the 3DS, not to mention balance.
I believe from my prospective, literally, every character falls into an gameplay archetype, more blunt for games that focus on multiple characters like fighting, racing, or RPG titles. The most basic ones are stuff like Mighty Glacier or Fragile Speedster, you know general things you can throw characters into for quick organization purposes. It's the most basic prospective anyone can understand, and it's very universal for many games. On the subject of archetypes, I'm familiar with the Turtle and other archetypes mainly through ManlySpirit's thread from way back. Beyond that, how universal or well-known do you believe they are? Smash characters certainly factor into them to some degree, but whether it was a conscious decision could really go either way.
I'm going to have to disagree on this.In order of likeliness IMO
I don't even think Pichu can come back now that we have Plusle & Minun
- Genesect
- Plusle & Minun
- Zoroark
- Blaziken
- Meowth

I was thinking more along the lines of a popular gen 3 succesor to Pichu that adds another duo and represents team battles was. Although not more than Zoroark I guess.wait . . .
two characters that are rumored and can't be proven to be part of brawls game data (aka the forbidden 7) are more likely than a character that seemed plausible pre Pokémon X&Y (though to some he still has a chance, just undermined by mewtwo)
. . . . . . . .okay?
Why doesn't Toon Zelda deserve to get in?I disagree with both statements.
"I'm aware Toon Zelda's coding was found in the game and that she's a requested character, but in reality she's incredibly excessive and unnecessary. I think this is most likely why she was never finished or even had much coding to begin with. We have Toon Link to represent the toon games and the Child Link is essential unlike the child Zelda which is really take it or leave it. Now the idea of Tetra being part of it makes it serve a purpose, but it seems to draw too far away from the original Zelda which is not what Sakurai wanted with Toon Link."Why doesn't Toon Zelda deserve to get in?
