Waddle Dee is a bit odd because he falls into the middle ground. He's not impossible, but he's certainly not likely either. I'd say that if his presence keeps on being important in the Kirby franchise, he'll have a good chance in the next game.

Kirby did get a much warranted luxuary treatment in Brawl too, so it's only fair that the franchise doesn't get anything over say DK, Metroid or new franchises.

Yes, DK and Metroid needs a newcomer,but that franquises obviously will have a newcomer (at least DK) ,so ,what's the problem with Bandana Dee?

I really don't know Sakurai is that modest.
Things like 2 Kirby newcomers in Brawl,very important roles for Kirby characters in SSE,the fact that he voices Dedede and obviously,Broken Knight are not because of his "modesty" XD

I really don't know if Sakurai is that modest.

Speaking of school, I was gonna share a little story with all of you on the thread.
So I was in History learning about the Reformation, when my teacher starts talking about the "Mennonites."
Now, I didn't know what he said, and I heard "Meta Knights."
So I asked my teacher to clarify a few times until I finally understood that I was hearing things. Too much Smash for me.
Also, in Biology today, we learned about monosaccharaides.
Obviously I heard Mono Sakurais.
True stories.

That's a leftover of the idea of having individual victory themes for all characters. Obviously Meta Knight would be the first in priority for that, since it's not very convincing to say "Come back when you can put up a fight" while a happy jingle is your closing song.

Waddle Dee(or should I say Bandana Dee) is defiantly qualified to be the forth rep of the Kirby series, and the Kirby series are defiantly worthy of having 4 reps (others are Mario, zelda, pokemon, Donkey Kong, and possibly fire emblem), his two only obstacles are that there are others characters who would be chosen over waddle Dee, and the second obstacle is sakurai own modesty, but even then he does have a good chance to appear, just not the best.

It shouldn't really be a remix of Samus's victory theme. His theme is too iconic and fitting to pass by.

Like with Palutena. I don't see why his modesty would get in the way of her making it in, as he didn't even create her, just broadened and redefined her.

Sakurai left after Kirby's Air Ride, I think the last main series Kirby game he was in charge of was Nightmare in Dreamland, while he did have creative input or something like that on Amazing Mirror. He hasn't had much to do with Kirby since outside of Smash Bros.

However, he did still create the Waddle Dee design, minus the bandana. You're right that it's a new character that came after Sakurai's work with the franchise though, unless it's the same Waddle Dee as seen in Revenge of Meta Knight in Super Star or the one from Kirby 64.

kingmario, I don't think he meant moveset-wise, rather just gameplay and build-wise (Unless I'm mistaken. If it was move-wise, I would disagree, most moves are fine the way they are). In any way possible, these characters, IMO, need to be buffed or nerfed. The intricate IC chaingrab should also be a lot less... intricate. And I don't even care if Ganondorf gets a new moveset or not, he needs to be buffed BIG TIME.

I think Sakurai shouldn't go completely overhauling movesets, but rather refining them and making them better to use in a legitimate scenario (the Triforce Trio and Jigglypuff are prime examples).

Well, you're right actually. But I can easily think of a moveset for Bandana Dee.
