-Saying Mewtwo "only panders to nostalgia" is extremely hypocritical when you heavily support an old Japanese character from 1986 who never really caught on.

I didn't even know about Nazo no Murassame Jo until 2011 when I was one day bored and decided to browse Hardcore Gaming 101. There is hardly any nostalgia involved with the game or character, barring possibly those parallels to stuff like Okami and Rurouni Kenshin for a hypothetical future game developed by Platinum Games.

My guess is that marketing test subjects don't respond to the cool Japanese stuff because Americans have **** taste.

One reason could be because such things as Pokémon in Japan are much more popular there than the West. After all, it is stuff from their country and there's much stronger marketing there.

And Mewtwo has LASTING popularity. Some people say he won't be in because of too many Gen 1 reps, but the simple fact is that Gen 1 pokemon tend to be the most popular. You don't see people saying "Luigi's too old school, replace him with Rosalina."

Hmm i have no problem with the new mewtwo form, in fact i welcome the change. I wasnt fond of the idea of retreading old ground and bringing original back, but this changes things if its true and id prefer this since it would at least give mewtwo something new to work with.

Shiek of course isn't going to show up too much in the LoZ series just based off the fact that it's one specfic Zelda incarnation's alternate form. We still have the alternate forms of Zelda showing up, like Tetra. So in a way, Shiek never left. It would just be real stupid for Zelda to transform into Tetra as her standard non-toon self. Zelda's moveset is all based around her duality.


So, it's not Suprising Shiek's specific incarnation hasn't shown up. But the idea of her is hardly gone, and Sakurai must view this idea as an important/interesting one when he added it to Zelda's moveset. So, regardless of what you think, Sakurai thinks different, and unfortunetly for all of us, that's one of the few opinions that actually matter.

And Shiek getting in over Mewtwo is really, a random thing to look at... the addition and cut of those two characters had nothing to do with eachother.

Assuming this is truly a new form for Mewtwo, I could see two options:

- Mewtwo can transform into the new form and back via Special move, having Psystrike as the Final Smash.
- Mewtwo has no transforming Special Attack, but have the new form has a transforming Final Smash, similar to Giga Bowser or Wario-Man.

I'd prefer something that includes Mind Control, like controlling the opponent for a short time to make them jump off the stage or attack someone else.
Final Smash or not, I just want Psystrike to be one of Mewtwo's moves. It's his signature move.

Hate to double post, but speaking of which, I find it funny that ZSS was considered by Sakurai to be the "weaker" form, but is ranked higher than normal Samus in the tier list.
