This is something I can agree with. But at the same time, watching him squirm is always fun.

I actually admire him fighting the good fight with Dr. Mario. I think people are too harsh on him. I don't think its a travesty if he came back as a costume that threw pills, and that regular Mario was made more to be like Doc.

I actually understand Golden, as someone who thinks Toon Link could have been a unqiue character rather than a Link clone. You know who else I support? Dark Pit.

You don't see me shoving decloned Toon Links and Dark Pits on the other's throats though. I'd be fine if Dark Pit was a simple recolor (hell, he was inspired by Pit's black color in Brawl).

Which is also why the 'fight' he is putting up is not really admirable. It's more like, he just flat out refuses to see the point of everyone who has a different opinion than him.

If this was only true for his stance on Dr.Mario, I would find it far less annoying...

Nice hyperbole. I am pretty sure Golden has said he would be fine with Dr. Mario sharing a slot with regular Mario. What he is trying to do is justify Doc having a place at all in Smash Bros, and trying to explain to people the differences he had with regular Mario since for many people the only difference they shared was that Doc thew pills.

Still. He'd be the least unique character on the roster. And seeing how Brawl's 'clones' are basically all Luigified clone characters, Dr.Mario would bring the unique factor down only by himself. I don't expect the return of full clones just yet, unless we get an enourmous roster, which has already been confirmed which won't be the case. Hence Dr.Mario's chances of returning are even slimmer than pre-Brawl.

No. I don't think Toon Link replaces Young Link anymore than Brawl's Link replaced 64/Melee Link. Toon Link just happened to be the most recent incarnation of "child" Link.

I think Kuma wanted Tom Nook and Oasis wanted Mach Rider. I could be wrong but I think Chrono wants Roy more than he wants Ridley. My most wanted character is Duck Hunt Dog but I am not too vocal about it like I was in the Nsider days.

I had an idea for Pichu, to make it a lethal joke character, and be an optional choice when picking Pikachu. However, Pichu would evolve into Pikachu, and Pikachu evolve into Raichu (choosing Pikachu on the select screen wouldn't let you evolve into Raichu though). Imagine Raichu being an intentionally stronger Pikachu, much like how Pichu was an intentional weaker Pikachu, and you get my idea of the 'lethal joke character' for Pichu. It would cost you some risk, but once you get to play as Raichu, your opponent is basically ****ed.

It's more unique than a certain Doctor could ever hope to be at least.

Why not? I even had the idea for Pokemon Trainer, where you actually pick your starter; Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle, and it would evolve during battles.

Evolution would work for Pichu, as it's designed to be intentionally weaker than Pikachu. The only way to really balance this is to have Raichu, who would be an intentionally stronger Pikachu.

Yeah, I remember that. Beating someone with Pichu was an excellent way to humiliate someone at Smash Bros.
