Dillon confirmed for Snake and Sonic's replacement.Dillon seems like he'll be a blend of Sonic, with quite a few rolling dash attacks, and Snake laying down explosive traps on the stage.
Compared to the DBZ games we have today (Burst Limit, Raging Blast series, etc.), the BT games weren't that bad, but can see why others wouldn't like them. For me though they were more or less up there with the Budokais.Namco is responsible for Tekken and Soul Calibur, but they are also responsible for those very mediocre anime fighters (DBZ BT series and Ultimate Ninja afaik).
I made the same mistake as well a few years back, thinking it would get more interesting after the prerequisites, and boy was I wrong. Couldn't agree more about the people in that major too. They're quite soulless, most of them anyway.Don't even think about it. Go do something else. Please, don't make the same mistake I made. I thought things were going to get better/more interesting, but I was dead wrong and nobody talks in that major. When they do, it's in really technical terms.
Ecstatic. It's been back though.
I'm not excited for Mewtwo really, simply because... I'm sure if he's added he won't be changed too much from Melee.
On what basis do you think/find it likely that Namco will/would just make him hardly different at all from his Melee version? Also, the fact that Mewtwo will likely be like his Melee version doesn't help him at all.
I can see it now...Dillon confirmed for Snake and Sonic's replacement.
Namco Employee said:We've had many request to re-include Sonic and Snake into this next installment of smash. It was a tough decision, but bare with us. We have comprised for the sake of development time and decided to make them alternate costumes.
Well, he would change, but probably not drastically. More in the way Ganondorf and Falco changed, you know? Mewtwo and the clones both got a lot of **** for their movesets, but Ganon and Falco didn't change drastically. They changed a lot, but not completely. And Mewtwo is already a unique character, so, I mean he may not change him at all.On what basis do you think/find it likely that Namco will/would just make him hardly different at all from his Melee version?
I wish I knew what Sakurai DID with Dixie. Did he scrap her as soon as the combination didn't work? Was he putting her at a lower priority like he did with Mewtwo and Roy? Did he only want Diddy if the tag team didn't work?I really think this could be the last time there is a lot of hype for Smash Bros. in terms of characters. Nearly all of the long-time Nintendo characters (outside of those from the Mario series) will be added in. Assuming Ridley, Little Mac, Mega Man, Isaac, and K. Rool are added, I can't really think of any characters left to add that have a large fanbase (again Mario characters, and possibly Dixie Kong).
I wouldn't say soulless, just boring. I can get them to open up a bit if I want. In fact, one of my friends who's now a grad student is one I can get to open up. And I just randomly came up to him in one class to see if he needed a group to join. That's me in a nutshell. Well Melee Mewtwo had moves/specials based on things he used in the first Pokemon movie, like shadow ball. Maybe other techniques in his arsenal will become more glorified in the Genesect movie which they'll use for revamping the moveset some? Ya never know, but either way I can't see them not implementing some of his latest gen moves to some degree. That alone would change him more than Ganon or Falco were from Melee to Brawl.Well, he would change, but probably not drastically. More in the way Ganondorf and Falco changed, you know? More or less the same thing to me. I tried getting some to open up, but it was hard. That's cool though. Wish I had been able to do that as easily as you. :uI wouldn't say soulless, just boring. I lol'd hard when I asking about it in the feedback thread and just a few moments later, John2k4 posted the trollface. XDThe trollface is ACTUALLY BACK?
WOOTH
The original Mega Man seems to be the best bet. But, he could have alt. costumes for X, Volnutt, .EXE, etc...I'm still of the opinion that Megaman X would be the best fit in Super Smash Bros. It would be ironic that after years of begging Capcom for X to make his appearance in Marvel Vs. Capcom, he becomes playable in Super Smash Bros. Still, I believe Megaman X has a lot more to offer than the little blue boy in terms of playstyle (go watch some clips of Project X Zone if you disagree). No one really has to grasp at straws to adapt X to the Super Smash Bros. gameplay. Wall jumping? Check. Air dashing? Check. Giga Attack? Check. Plus, how can you argue with these tracks?

In the end, I'm almost certain Nintendo and Capcom will go with the safe bet in the original, sadly.
Them or Zero.Tron Bonne and Servbots as Assist Trophy, anyone?
I'd main him, if only to troll people online. What if Sakurai and Yoshinori Ono make a surprise announcement that Mega Man is in SSB4...
...only to find out he's Bad Box Art Mega Man... AGAIN!
Sakurai and Ono: *laughs*
It'd be a punch in the face for anyone living in this planet. Even Grimers would be angry.
I wish I knew too. At the very least Sakurai put some thought into Dixie Kong's attacks and animations. I still think K. Rool is far more likely, although I like Dixie Kong more.I wish I knew what Sakurai DID with Dixie. Did he scrap her as soon as the combination didn't work? I just, don't know how likely K. Rool + Dixie is.
Fixed. In terms of how Sakurai represented popular characters in Brawl, I think it's almost certain that we will get Mewtwo, Little Mac, K. Rool, Megaman, Ridley AND Pac-man playable this time. Looking at Brawl, the only massively popular characters that missed out, based on my recollections of this board, were Ridley and Geno, the former because of Sakurai and the latter because of any number of reasons, unimportance and third party gobbledygook prime among them. With so few popular characters left to begin with, Sakurai will likely have to become less choosy with characters, not more. This is also where Ridley benefits, since there are no longer any popular characters that can be added instead of him to justify his absence.
I like Dixie Kong more as well. Still really enjoy K. Rool, but I do love that helicopter haired ape.I wish I knew too. At the very least Sakurai put some thought into Dixie Kong's attacks and animations. I still think K. Rool is far more likely, although I like Dixie Kong more.
I agree that Mewtwo, Takamaru and Palutena some of the most likely. Along with Roy OR Chrom. A Fire Emblem character is simply going to happen. Roy not making it into Brawl was just because Sakurai's team somehow fell behind with time or delegated his time/staff to other things. Sakurai always tries to add as much characters as possible. If he had his way, we would have seven more characters. Sure we don't care for Toon Zelda / Toon Shiek. He likes to make us happy.I am not sure if even K. Rool is a guarantee to be honest. The closest thing we have to a shoe-in this time is Mewtwo (after him, I would say the most likely characters are Takamaru and Palutena).
Thankfully, Sakurai has already looked at Dixie for playablitiy. We also know he doesn't have a problem adding characters that aren't exactly "relevant". He likes him some retros, and he already has shown that Dixie means SOMETHING to him and the DK series. I'm not too afriad of relevancy. If, he does though, we can kiss Dixie, K. Rool, and Krystal bye bye. But I'm confident the Wii U and the 3DS is going to revive about EVERY Nintendo major franchise.I think K. Rool is going to be a character saved by Smash Bros. if he gets in (the same goes for Isaac and the Golden Sun series). I am still a bit worried since both K. Rool and Dixie Kong have not made any more new game appearances since 2008 (a half decade ago), and the removal of the DKC trilogy from the Virtual Console means that the source material for those two characters is unavailable to new generations of players.
Okay, what Nintendo games are rumored/confirmed for the Wii U and 3DS? I haven't heard of DKRWii U or DKCR3D.I am crossing my fingers that K. Rool and/or Dixie Kong make some sort of appearance in Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, or that Diddy Kong Racing Wii U turns out to be real. On the latter, like with Smash 4, we won't know anything until E3 2013.
Donkey Kong Country Returns is a 3DS port of Donkey Kong Country Returns. It was confirmed in the last Nintendo Direct. Diddy Kong Racing Wii U though is still unconfirmed.Okay, what Nintendo games are rumored/confirmed for the Wii U and 3DS? I haven't heard of DKRWii U or DKCR3D.
Over at 4chan, I got a few people commenting, asking why I had Chrom and not Lucina on my poll. So that makes sense. I just don't think Lucina has a chance in Smash. On the topic of Chrom, the FE fanbase's reception of him seems to be ho-hum or mixed. They just seem to regard him as "just another lord" with nothing really about him that stands out. I think if Chrom were not the most recent lord, he would probably fall down the memory hall rather quickly.
Lucina seems more popular than Chrom, but that may just be because of "b00bz", regardless, the reason why support is so low for her among the Smash Bros. fanbase is that she is practically a genderswap version of Marth. With Marth's latest design, he looks almost the same as Lucina with the exception of having shorter hair.Over at 4chan, I got a few people commenting, asking why I had Chrom and not Lucina on my poll. At best she'll be a Marth alternate costume.Over at 4chan, I got a few people commenting, asking why I had Chrom and not Lucina on my poll. So that makes sense. I just don't think Lucina has a chance in Smash.
This whole "pervert" argument is really dumb. Can't it be feasible that they just like the character or find her attractive in a non-perverted way?
