He was mid-tier, if I'm remembering correctly, when his moveset more closely resembled that of Capt. Falcon. Now that he's only going to become further decloned from Falcon, and Sakurai seems to enjoy this idea of Ganondorf as a "stiff, middle-aged fighter," according to the DOJO, I'm remaining a bit pessimistic. I sincerely hope Namco proves me wrong in that regard.
Ganondorf decending into the H(yrule) tier had more to do with the game's physics and hitstun changes than being de-clonified. If anything the new moves ended up being some of Ganondorf's best moves and allowed him to have some remotely decent options in a 1v1 scenario. Not to mention he can still clear house in free for alls.

This is fun.

Largest character in Smash history: Bowser, redesigned to be more of a tank. I've also seen Ridley suggested for this spot, and K. Rool or King Hippo could potentially fill it as well.
Lightest character in Smash history: Paper Mario, for obvious reasons.
Futuristic fighter: Mach Rider
Long Ranged Weapon Wielder: Palutena, with her staff and assorted goddess magic.
A character riding something: Fawful, in some sort of aerial pod. Or Robotnik.
Small-heavy character: Bowser Jr.
New transformation character: Bowser's Minions, including Koopa, Goomba, Monty Mole and Blooper! A DK64 Kong trio or Animal Buddies would also be cool stuff.
Magic wielding character: Kamek, also riding something (his broomstick).
A close ranged combat specialist: Little Mac!
Shield/Wall specialist: Not sure what this means, but Isaac could use Summon to create moving walls as an attack.
Trap character: Groose could work here, if his buddies lurked around the stage and put opponents in headlocks upon passing them.
A PT without starters: Not my forte...some PT without starters, I suppose.
Aerial combat specialist: Ridley!
A Dark/Evil character: Revamped Mewtwo or Hades
A Pure character: Meh...Rosalina, maybe? Palutena is the obvious choice here, but I don't want to use her twice.
A really young character: Super Baby Mario
A really old character: Cranky Kong
A summoner: Based off his SSBC moveset, Porky for sure.

Interesting to hear about Ganondorf...looking at it optimistically, his sheer awfulness in Brawl might prompt the developers to give him the revamp everyone's been demanding for over a decade.

New ones, like, newcomers to Smash that fill these requirements
Gotcha, yeah gimme a bit, I already have most of the ones that fill your requirements, especially since many fill multiple roles such as Vaati and Eggman. I just gotta think of what moves would best represent what.

Also, do we have to abide by Sakurai's rules, or can we reach into other Non-Nintendo franchises and even anime?

I wanna see you all get creative, pick characters to fill these requirements:

Largest character in Smash history: easily Ridley
Lightest character in Smash history: if not Captain Olimar, maybe Chibi Robo?
Futuristic fighter: Mach Rider revamped à la Mad Max
Long Ranged Weapon Weilder: Falco luigified with sniper and bazooka
A character riding something: Baby Mario/Luigi/Peach/DK riding Yoshi, or Dr. Eggman on his robot-legs
Small-heavy character: Bowser Jr. maybe, or Mallo from Pushmo/Crashmo
New transformation character: Young Link transforming in Goron/Zora/Deku (not creative but I really want this)
Magic weilding character: since Palutena isn't creative, Medusa lol
A close ranged combat specialist: I'd say Little Mac but it's not really creative...
Sheild/Wall specialist: Toon Ganondorf (watch Wind Waker final battle)
Trap character: don't get this one, like a character that doesn't directly fight but uses traps? Mr. Resetti maybe? don't know
A PT without starters: Team Rocket with Weezing, Victreebell and Meowth
Aerial combat specialist: should be Ridley again, or SCIZOR **** yeah
A Dark/Evil character: Deathborn from F-Zero GX
A Pure character: what do you mean by that? Good? Then Prof. Layton, doesn't get more gentle and pure than him
A really young character: Duck Hunt Dog technically should be about 3-4 years old right?
A really old character: Deathborn is like 200 years, but since I already said him I'll go with The Skull, again from GX lol
A summoner: Maxwell from Scribblenauts

You know, the Famitsu source confirming Dixie as part of a duo with Diddy only said that it was scrapped because of "complications," but I sincerely hope Sakurai preferring both characters as individuals contributed to this as well. It would be unfortunate to shortchange both characters for the sake of a gimmick that just begs to be unbalanced, and only represents a single game (two, counting DKL2). Hopefully, the option to have a DK-Diddy team match remains untarnished, and we can have a DK-Diddy-Dixie vs. K. Rool 3 vs. 1 match as well.
So... can we get rid of the Zelda/Sheik transformation gimmick and just have Zelda (with new Down+B) and Impa (with Sheik's old moveset plus new Down+B and Final Smash) instead? Zelda/Sheik currently represents only one single game (OOT). It is unfortunate that Zelda had to be shortchanged for the sake of a gimmick that just begs to be unbalanced in both Melee and Brawl. :troll:

I don't actually like the Zelda/Sheik gimmick either, and would prefer the two be separated. I do think it is less severe than a Diddy/Dixie duo, however, considering in most interpretations of the duo, both monkeys are forced to be onstage at the same time, whereas, with Zelda, you can just not transform so that you can still have a Link/Zelda/Ganondorf match.

EDIT: Goddammit!! **** the new servers. They won't let me upload squat for a new avatar! What gives, what the hell is the new image limit? How is 50kb too much?
The SWF staff is aware of this and plan to fix it. This is a bug to be resolved. Any kind of upload causes this to happen.

Hit that Like button yo!
Done! ;)

You want (partial) movesets and strategies too right?
You're giving this too much thought homie, lol.

Welp, looks lie I got it done today, it was less work than I expected. Here are my pics:

Largest character in Smash history:
Aerial combat specialist:
Ridley

Specializing in aerial combat Ridley is devoid of traditional Smash attacks, instead he is the only character to boast 4, directional, Aerial Smash Attacks in addition to his regular Aerials. His Ground Neutrals are also launchers. Like Peach, he can stay afloat by holding the Jump button and his great 5 jump recovery and UpB can make him hard to kill. However, being as large as he is, he is also a big target that can rack up damage very quick, thus Ridley players have to be more defensive and use his ranged attacks and aerial superiority.

Lightest character in Smash history:
Paper Mario

He´s made of Paper, how much lighter can you get? Coming to Smash as the RPG Mario, he has plenty of moves that his platformer counterpart does not have, and as a much more tactical fighter he can hardly be called a clone (as he´s not). Weilding his migty hammer, kickable shells, chargable fireballs, and a variety of different Jump moves including the Multi-Jump and Super Jump from SMRPG. In addition our slim friend here is able to change his form as he´s made of paper and recover using his Paper Plane ability.

Futuristic fighter:
Long Ranged Weapon Weilder:
KOS-MOS

Armed to the teeth this cyborg gives Samus Aran and Solid Snake a run for their money in regard to raw firepower and diverse weaponry. As a mid to long range fighter KOS-MOS specializes in overwhelming her opponents with a plethora of different weapons from Multi-missiles, to Gatling guns, to laser beams before moving in closer to deal lethal blows with her Beam Sword, Electricity attacks, and mighty punches. As a heavier character, she´s also rather tenacious and hard to kill.

A character riding something:
A summoner:
Sheild/Wall specialist:
Eggman

The Wily inventor who always has a trick up his sleeve and can even outrun “the fastest thing alive” in a footrace, Dr. Robotnick comes in riding his sturdy and versatile Eggmobile. Not one to usually do the dirty work himself Eggman can summon some of his inventions to fight for him (as we saw in Death Battle), including Metal Sonic. In addition, he can call for backup from his Egg Fleet and Egg Carrier and use his inventions to control gravity . His Eggmobile also comes with a variety of weapons which allow him to even bombard the field. His Final Smash is a stage decimating Beam from the Death Egg.

Small-heavy character:
Dillon

The Sheriff Armadillo comes in as a Quickdrawing Sheriff. The fastest Gun in Smash is a contender to be dealt with as he can blast opponents away from up close with his quick shooting. In addition his tough hide gives him formidable defense and allows him to quickly roll up to his opponents to deliver punishment. However, wielding guns allows our Lone-star friend to also pick opponents from afar with his sharp shooting.

New transformation character:
Magic weilding character:
Vaati

The Dark Mage from the Four Sword Saga comes in strong. Not letting himself get outdone by the King of Evil Vaati comes with the unique ability to steal Mana from his opponents. The mana collected can then be used to either use more powerful variations of some of his moves or permanently transform to his next form. With 3 stages of transformation Vaait grows stronger each time he transforms, however, he loses mobility forcing him to be more defensive. Still a force to be reckoned with as Final For Vaati stands as one of the best characters in the game, that is, IF you can reach that form without dying first.

A close ranged combat specialist:
Little Mac

Now, I've heard several times that Mac suffers from not having much variety in regard to movesets as he's very limited in what he can do, after all he can only throw punches. However, I disagree. As a Martial Artist, I understand just how profound the art of Boxing really it, sure, on the surface it just looks like dudes throwing punches at each other, but underneath that simplicity lies possibly on of the most complex Martial Arts there is, and I hope to express that when making this character.

We can see other Boxers in fighting games with characters such as Balrog and Dudley, and you can see a lot of diversity in they style, despite the fact that they only throw punches. So with that, on to Mac's moves.

Little Mac's Moveset:

[COLLAPSE="POW Meter"]
First and foremost, his "gimmick" so this actually dawned on me today, and it's really what makes his moveset all in all.

Little Mac has a POW Meter right above his Icon on the bottom, this activates whenever he uses his specials. Essentially, by holding down his specials you activate the meter which makes a bar quickly fluctuate between full power and weak. When releasing the button, Little Mac will do that move with the amount of power indicated on the bar. There are 3 levels of power, 3 being very powerful and very satisfying. However, let me specify, that landing a Level 3 special is no easy task, it takes precise timing as the Bar only stays on POW for a very short time. Chances are you'll be landing Level 2s most of the time.

In short, it behaves a lot like Makoto's Drive "Impact" for those who have played BlazBlue, here's a video where you can see it in action in case you haven't.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWOS0o91Kr8

[COLLAPSE="B=Ultimate Boxing Technique: Dempsey Roll!!"]
Tap B, and Little Mac will quickly dodge as you see him do in his games:

Now, if you repeatedly tap B, Little Mac will weave back and forth dodging hits and building momentum. during this, his upper-body is invulnerable (he can still get hit with sweeps though), once you stop pressing B, Little Mac will unleash a Mean Hook Punch, followed by a flurry of consecutive Hook Punches. Now the punches, even the first one, have great hitstun, but NO knockback (only the final one does knockback). Doing the first phase longer will allow Mac to build more momentum and thus allow him to hit with more strikes when he unleashes the technique. In addition, the meter above Mac's icon activates when "charging" this move, unleashing it at full meter not only increases the damage of the punches, but also makes Mac unleash a final Uppercut at the end of the flurry, this is a Killing move at full POW. This move is very close range, as they're hook punches, you must be right in your opponent's face to execute it properly.

If you've ever read Hajime no Ippo, you've seen this move, if you haven't here it is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5sdJSPL1Vs
Now, contrary to what you may think, this move didn't actually debut in this manga, it is in fact a real Boxing Technique first used by Legendary Boxing Champion Jack Dempsey, you can see him use it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmaPxa-eZss

[COLLAPSE= "Side B=CROSS-COUNTER!!"]
Really, I mean how could I NOT have this in here, this is a classic Boxing move and a great one for Mac. Now this is the only move Mac cannot charge, as it IS a reactive move after all. This move is a counter, without the Parry. Essentially when you use this, Mac will quickstep right up to his opponent (it doesn't have much range so you better be real close), and deliver a cross punch (the arm in back), now here's the catch, if Mac gets hit when using this move, his Cross Punch will hit his opponent with 2x the damage and knockback he was hit with. Now, Mac will still take the damage and knockback from this move, so it's not a true counter. However, when hit, his knockback will be cut by 25%, giving him a slight edge in just who might die first during critical situations. The move has slight delay at the beginning signalling Mac's about to use it, on a whiff (if you miss-predict) , Mac's will still attack, as it's not a true counter, but he will only do around 5% damage and 0 knockback leaving you wide open to counter-attack. Oh, and obviously this move is useless against Long Range attacks, as he still gets hit. Another Dangerous Killing move.

Here you can see good Ol' Dudley use this move:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76MNVXkzHSg

[/COLLAPSE]

[COLLAPSE="Up B= Let's See Ya Grit Those Teeth: FINISHING UPPERCUT!!"]
This is Ryu's Shoryuken by the Book, I mean there's no way around it, this is meant to be an anti-air by and large. Now this is how it works:

This technique comes up real fast, thus why it's an anti-air, opponent's will be hit back in a similar fashion as in SF, now it can also be used on ground opponents, and this is where the move changes. It has two hitboxes, one at the beginning and one at the end. Against aerial opponents, it's just a good AA, and will deal decent damage and knockback, but won't really earn you a KO, unless they're at very high damage. However, when hitting a grounded opponent, this move rocks! Here's the thing though, like Mac's other specials, this move is also delayable, holding down B will allow you to once again activate Mac's POW meter, giving you three levels of power and range, two of which correspond with Ryu's 3 different Shoryukens (Weak and Medium), however, if you get a level 3 Finishing Uppercut, well... I guess you know what happens then. Each successive level gives Mac increased range as well as power, meaning really much coordinate your timing to achieve what you want. This applies to recover as well, as Level 3 has the best range.
[/COLLAPSE]

[COLLAPSE="Down B= Grand Slam: Knock Out PUNCH!!"]
Little Mac's ultimate technique. It functions differently in Air than it does on the Ground. Once again, this move is also delay-able and POWable. Each one giving you more Power. In this move, the range stays the same. Mac will simply glide across the ground (a set range, about half of Fox's illusion) very quickly and hit his opponent with a Powerful Punch. The higher the level the stronger the Punch, Level 3 being very painful (as powerful as the Falcon Punch). In mid-air, Mac doesn't dash at all, he stays in place and delivers a downward Hook Punch, one that hits his opponents downward at a diagonal angle, making for a very good Spike Move if used at highest level.

[/COLLAPSE]

[COLLAPSE="Final Smash= I'll Never Give Up: The Underdog's Comeback!!"]

This is Mac's comeback move, basically his final gambit, he puts it all one the line putting all his power into his moves. His Power and Speed go up when he uses this increasing all his properties, and his body gets redder as it begins to emit steam. This is his "Kaio-Ken" if you will (really, I would compare it more to Luffy's Gear 2nd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzEWSxPEPMo). Basically what this does is it makes it so that Mac's POW meter is always at Level 3 when using this, making all of his specials brutal. The power of his neutrals and aerials increase, and his speed increases slightly. However, when using this, Mac's damage begins to rack up (2% every second for the first 10 seconds, and 5% afterwards, as well as 10% damage for each hit he lands). It goes away once he's KO'd.
[/COLLAPSE]

As an avid manga fan, to me Mac represents the typical Shounen Battle Manga Hero. The tough guy who never gives up, the underdog that surprises opponents with his hidden potential, his POW meter is a representation of that, showing that Mac can surprise opponents with his moves by tapping into himself. It also makes it so that Mac players have to learn to use him, they have to tap that feeling of KNOWING when to use his moves and let them go, thus creating a fine connection or synchronization if you will between the player and his avatar. In addition, his Specials are a great representation of Boxing Classics, earning him the titles of a TRUE Boxing Champion.

His general playstyle is a Beatdown character like C.Falcon. Very powerful, and fast. However, since he's just a normal guy (and somewhat short) Mac's air game is near garbage and his jumps are rather shallow as well. However, his ground game DOMINATES, making him a truly interesting character. He's a bit lighter than Falcon, however, he's much more resilient to taking hits than he appears and by no means a "Lightweight." Obviously, his weaknesses lie in ranged characters and Aerial characters.

[/collapse]

[/collapse]

M gone E rated character:
Bayonetta

Although Travis would be more fitting for Smash, Bayonetta takes his place for boasting a much more unique fighting style. The sexy witch from the PG action games comes into Smash with her 2 sets of guns insanely unique combos. I think her moveset writes itself. Fighting games and action games essentially go hand in hand.

A PT without starters:
N with Zoroark and Legends

The true hero of Generation 5 shows up with his loyal Zoroark and Darmatian as well as the Legendary Pokemon Reshiram which he can ride. All 3 Pokemon vary in combat abilities and function as a switchable trio tag team rather than a transforming character, as N doesn´t believe in enslaving Pokemon after all.

Trap character:
A really old character:
A Dark/Evil character:
Death

You can´t get much older than Death itself. The loyal servant of Lord Dracula himself and an iconic and recurring face in the Castlevania series, Death joins the fight wielding his Lethal Scythe and a variety of weapons that keep opponents on their toes as they make their way across the screen. As very defensive character he can warp around the stage and lay runes to trick opponents. He can also launch a variety of projectiles and wield his scythe with a lethal speed that will surely end your life. If you´ve ever played Cstlevania before then you know exactly what you´re up against when facing off against this iconic relic.

A really young character:
A Pure character:
Ashley

Well, you really can´t get much more pure than a Little girl…. I guess. The Goth Loli from Warioware can cast a variety of spells and curses that trick opponents and damage them indirectly. In addition, like Rachel from BlazBlue he has great mobility allowing her to stay well away from her opponents as she flies on her broom and casts hexes with her wand which include temporarily transforming her foes into candy, spoons, toast and dolls. Though rather clumsy she´s bound to screw up once in a while and help her opponent rather than harm them…

I'm not sure which I'm anticipating more, Smash 4 being revealed or that I'm graduating from my hellhole major.

Are university studies in Spain free like they are in France and a bunch of other Euro countries?
I don't know about Spain, but here in Portugal it's over 1000€ per year.

And with this economy, the number of students giving up the studies due to financial problems is rising.

Don't know what your major is, but welcome to college. I was lucky to have the majority of my semesters with only 12 hours. I've got 15 right now, but four classes are very easy. Just tells you how hard comp. sci. is.

Curious... here, I rarely have any homework. Most of the subjects usually have a project or something, but never much homework to do.

Of course, that forces you to work on your own, which can be quite dangerous if you get distracted. By the way, my course is Informatics Engineering.

I'm a Digital Design major. It's for people who want to go into the video game, CGI movie, commercial/advertisement design field.
I just get a ton of projects due every 2 months or so that are time consuming

and write a bunch of papers on movies... The only time I get homework is when I take basic GUR classes like psychology and what not.

I'm an English major so all my coursework is reading and writing about obscene amounts of material for the following day. It might sound bad but I like the pressure and I do enjoy reading and writing (especially creative writing) so whatever, lolz.

I hate to be that guy, but Dillon does not use guns. He does use dynamite however.

Currently am undecided but am looking at International Relations with a Japanese minor. Not too hard, one of the reasons I'm around here a fair amount, most work goes into Japanese, but my other classes will probably pick up in my Junior year next semester.

Man I wish we had the groups back, a lot of this should go in the community thread, that and there's a lot of people here that don't currently have invites but deserve them.
