I just got eterian odyssey IV today. I created a party of what I thought was 3 females and 2 males. however, I noticed the character selection seems to go male female male female with every other class. So I think the 3rd female of my team is actually a male.

I don't care though, she is too high leveled. I am not going to change it now. It's just cosmetic anyway, they are just going to have to deal with being a female

Someone told me they heard a rumor that Wario might have been a suggestion for a heavy Mario clone during Melee at one point. No proof, but an interesting tidbit nonetheless. Woulda preffered that Wario honestly.

I said many times before that Roy haters are very loud, while Roy supporters are quiet (but much more numerous). It has always been that way. What is more interesting if they are using the same lies ("Roy's game is bad", "Roy's game sold poorly", "FE fans hate Roy", "Intelligent Systems forced Sakurai to include Roy", "Sakurai had Sigurd planned instead", "Sigurd is Sakurai's favorite FE character"). I am sure I missed one or two, lol.

The biggest thing that happened with your poll is that Waluigi rocketed all the way to 6th place on your poll (since Waluigi is basically the patron saint of Nintendo characters on 4chan, since he is basically a walking meme factory). Waluigi has like 100 votes more than even Bowser Jr.

As for Dillon, Chu. I can't add anymore characters at this point. But I'm cooking up a special poll for post E3. DUN DUN DUN. *lights shine and a mic is in my hand*

Do you think there is some competition between Shulk and Isaac? As in, can't have both, only one?

I don't. Actually, I think Shulk wins that battle. The problem with Issac is he's not a global character; all of his request come from the west. Shulk is popular world round and that gives him a boost. The other issue I see is that Nintendo tends not to go with 2nd party series. They haven't done one yet. Given, most of them don't have a shot. Issac is possible, but I consider him unlikely. If it does happen, it blows this theory out of the water.

Isaac WAS popularly requested in Japan. He was probably the most wanted newcomer series character after Olimar (or perhaps even on par with Olimar, my memory is a bit foggy). The problem is that the Golden Sun games fell down the memory hole in Japan considering the long amount of time between Dark Dawn and The Lost Age, and since Japan receives far more RPGs than the West does, the Golden Sun became more buried there than in the West. I am sure if Isaac was a playable character in Smash 4 that a lot of Japanese Smash Bros. fans would be pleasantly surprised to see him.

The problem with Golden Sun now is that it may have become like Metroid and Punch-Out, where most of the fan interest comes from the West, however, its possible that the re-release of the games for the Virtual Console could re-spark interest in Isaac and his series even in Japan. The GBA Golden Sun games did sell very well there (at least much better than Xenoblade).

I really don't think it's fair to compare the two as swordsmen, since I just don't see Isaac using his sword enough to warrant that.

ALSO their hair is much less easily mistakable between the two than say Ike and Marth, BUT REALLY THAT'S A STUPID ARGUMENT. I mean, it's sort of legitimate, since that same line of thinking is why we got Falco instead of Wolf in Melee. More variety in character designs. Very important. But when it's down to hair color that's really going to extremes. With the differing shades and shapes, there really is no problem. Instant recognition still achieved. Did I really just go on that long about the blue hair argument oh man I am so tired but there are so many more dishes left to clean.

I still see Isaac winning out (if there is any contest at all). Isaac is probably more known among Smash fans and appeared as an assist showing that Sakurai does know he exist. If there wasn't a problem getting him in as an assist and he was just as much 2nd party as he was then, than I don't see how it would be much of a problem now. Not only that but they since brawl another game has come out for GS and although it didn't sell as well as the first 2 games(Shulk's game also didn't sell as well as those) it at least gave his series more exposure and merit. Also there is the fact that Shulk is a 1-shot character as of right now and we all know Sakurai has a tendency to not throw those characters in. The only time he's done this were with retros and Roy who was in for advertisement and I don't see Shulk getting in for that. Of course this could all be changed if Shulk turns out to be in that new "X" game but only time will tell. Either way I don't think Sakurai will necessarily see a contest between the two.

Pac-Man is using his design from the upcoming cartoon (which premieres later this year).

I think IF Pac-Man is going to be in Smash 4, he will be shown at E3 2013 due to the cartoon that is coming out later this year, as well as all the merchandise they are making to coincide with it.

On a sidenote, notice how Toad is there and not Waluigi.

Why does anybody want ROB gone? What rational does anybody at all have for why he should be cut? Seems pretty unreasonable. Like why not pick some other random Brawl addition to get cut?

Also I feel like a lot of people don't think Snake or Sonic will return. I think that's a weird viewpoint to have, but I get it more than the ROB thing.

I don't think Mega Man fans will worry. I could easily see Mega Man possibly being Sakurai's trump card if he wants to build hype further right before the game's release (see Sonic). Mega Man is probably the one newcomer that could produce the most hype for Smash 4, so this would be understandable. However, I still think Mega Man's chances of being shown at E3 2013 are still very good.

VGchartz is not really reliable for sales information since the guys pulls the numbers for the sales out of his behind.

People are just whining for the sake of whining, nothing more.

Going by the premise of SSB fighters being Nintendo's All-Stars, R.O.B. is more of an All-Star than, say... Lucas. No kidding.

Well, we all (well...most of us) saw that coming with the Pac-man redesign.
But yeah I agree that is the only reason why Pac-man has such a strong chance. from a business standpoint it can help generate buzz for his show. I'm 99.8% Pac man will be in Sm4sh.

When I read about Sakurai's hand injury more in-depth, he stated that he does the playtesting by doing "simple moves". For some reason this makes me wonder if the whole thing's gonne really become polished or just static because there seems none who can overview the more complex things now. I might be wrong, but just gives me that impression.

Well, we all know Sakurai is perfectionist when it comes to his job. Then again, a handful of Japanese people are like that... cultural thing, I suppose. But putting his work above his health could be dangerous for him.
