I'm repeating myself at this point you act as if with enough time and tools that Paper Mario can't be properly implemented as an alternate costume. I guess in your eyes all things are impossible unless proven otherwise. Water with oil indeed.

Doing the Paper Mario series justice is a totally new argument we are getting into, and one I am nearly not as passionate as you are... so i quit.

This is why Monolith Soft's new game is the best thing ever. You can beat up dinosaurs with a mecha. If that alone is not Game Of The Century material right there, then I've lost faith in humanity.

I like Yoshi's recovery as it is (and by that I mean second jump), but yes this new foot stooling mechanic really puts a damper on both him and Ness.
Would adding immunity to footstooling during start and mid second jump be too broken?

Being a perfectionist isn't anything wrong... Its only a curse especially when you come across games like DK64 and Banjo-Kazooie where you feel the responsibility that EVERYTHING must be collected. I've been there.


I believe on the higher difficulty Pit opts not to take the suit. I could be thinking of the Medusa fight...

Habanero is correct. In chapters where you use the Three Sacred Treasures, you can toggle them off after clearing them for the first time.

EDIT: Oh okay, yes it was i also just remembered. I do remember the GST going through multiple forms during the battle until Pit was left with the arm cannon. Or something like that.

Something reminiscent of Wings of Icarus from Project M would be nice. It's an effective move because it helps with approaching the opponent, which is a good compensation for Pit's somewhat low range.

Good God, his current SideB is awful.

It's pretty redundant when the Mirror Shield already reflects moves and the Mirror Shield is faster then the Angel Ring. The Mirror Shield can also block attacks without braking and can reverse characters in a vein to Mario's Cape, making it a useful edge guarding tool and defensive option.

Pit can still use the Mirror Shield separately. I don't see how being part of the Three Sacred Treasures is such a big deal.

Something I'd like in Smash would be "character modes." Basically would tweak the movesets to a certain degree. Those are not costumes, though, as they influence the gameplay.

Since we're talking about Pit, I'll start with him.

Pit - keeps his Brawl moveset overall with some tweaks. The Final Smash would be the GST.
Pit equipped with the Three Sacred Treasures - His intro would be the same from Uprising's chapters with them, by having Pit equip them in the beginning of the match. His attacks would have wider range and power, but at the cost of mobility. His arrows were faster, stronger but harder to control. His Final Smash would be the special attack from the air battles in which he unleashes a rain of arrows.
Dark Pit - Changes his down special attack to a new move. That move would be taken from the boss battle against him in which Dark Pit engulfs himself in purple energy and charge forward. Some normal attacks were slightly tweaked to have a little less speed and more power. The Final Smash would be the Daybreak weapon from Uprising's multiplayer, which is a cannon that fires a OHKO laser.

For Mario:
Mario - no FLUDD as his down B, having the Tornado instead. Otherwise, he'd be the same Mario from the SSB series. Final Smash: Mario Finale
Dr. Mario - Megavitamins instead of fireballs as well as the same tweaks to his A moves like Melee. Fans of Doc would surely rejoice. Final Smash: Viral Plague - Doc throws some viruses to harass the other players. Similar to Dedede's Final Smash.
FLUDD Mario - featuring FLUDD on all B moves!
Up B: Rocket Nozzle - similar to Diddy Kong's Rocketbarrels. Hold to charge then launch upward. Like Sunshine, he can only move sideways after launching.
Side B: Turbo Nozzle - Hold to charge, let go to fire. This would be reminiscent of Pikachu's and Luigi's side attacks. Anyone in the way would get hit.
Normal B: Hover Nozzle - hold on air or ground to hover, while slowly going upwards, much like the original game.
Down B: Normal Nozzle - Same as Brawl's Mario Down B.
Final Smash: Bubble Blast - Mario uses FLUDD to launch a huge water bubble upwards. Upon landing or hitting a wall, it would divide into two smaller ones, which would divide into two even smaller ones and so on...
To help distinguish from normal Mario, he'd wear the Shine Sprite t-shirt and sunglasses from Sunshine. The A moves would remain the same as Mario.

Some loose ideas that will probably never happen, but one can dream, I guess...

And, when the time comes I'll ask for any characters you personally want to be added to the poll. Most/All are already on the list though.

Not Chu or Chrono, but I will say that at this point having more confidence for Shulk would be a more wise decision. Does that mean we can't have both? No, but if Golden Sun isn't viewed as something special if Brawl has anything to say about it, then having confidence for Issac (or Matthew) being included isn't going to be wise. At least with Xenoblade, the game defied a lot of odds and is still up in the air as to what will happen.

I interpreted customizable characters as purely accessorizing your characters. Instead of being limited to the hat, bandana, and goggles for Pikachu we could customize him so that he could possibly wear a cape (Like Pichu did), Ash's signature hat, etc. Other tiny customizable changes could include Mario going hatless, accessories such as bows, etc.

Larger customizations could include character skins such as Mario's Dr. Outfit, Dry Bowser, Peach's biker outfit, etc. These changes would be purely cosmetic and would not give alter hit boxes, attacks, etc. (For example, the pills from Mario's Dr. outfit would function exactly the same as the fireball; only the appearance and sound would change.)

Like, can you have two or more polls open to voting at the same time? You mention that there's a 25 choice limit, and my suggestion to circumvent that would be to have multiple polls for different franchises. There could be a Fire Emblem poll, a Pokemon poll, maybe a "Mario universe"* poll, and then a miscellaneous poll for the rest..

*Referring to any series that exists in the shared Mario universe, i.e. Mario, Yoshi, DK, Wario.

The rivalry likely stems from perceived redundancy in having two blonde haired, sword wielding RPG protagonists playable within the same game. Even despite the fact that much of their abilities and weapons share little in common. Is there any reason they cannot co-exist? If "redundancy" were an issue, then I could name off eight characters that would have never been playable. Hair color or aesthetic features are a, usually, stupid and arbitrary criteria to determine whether a character will be fun.
