Yes, /v/ is rather infamous for their raids. But that's not always a bad thing, since watching fanboys weep is always fun. My favorite of the raids is the one involving /v/ voting the hell out of Bub and Bob from Bubble Bobble and managing to beat Master Chief. Good god the **** storm that came out that was hilarious.

Oh, I loved that. I actually love how Gamespot doesn't do those polls anymore because of /v/.
And the fanboy tears were delicious. A day that will forever be remembered.

All I'm saying is, since Shorty wants a good sample, he should avoid 4chan at all costs, they won't take his poll seriously.

Word on Vaati, but as FalKoopa said, I think his Japanese name is different, also, for the record, Va Vi Vu Ve Vo are with the U"+ small vowel, like so:
　ヴァ　ヴィ　ヴ　ヴェ　ヴォ　

The " makes a hard sound, Ha to Ba, Sa to Za, so U become Vu for Western sounds.

For those interested in trying to write in kana, I suggest using an IME.

For Windows users, you can activate kana input in your keyboard by using the language tool in the toolbar (near the clock). Right click on it and click on settings. You can now add languages to your computer. Just look for Japanese and it will add the option of using the IME necessary to write either in katakana or hiragana and kanji, also providing the option to write with alphanumeric characters.

I can type Mario in katakana easily with that: マリオ
It's also good for those learning how to read kana.

There are tons of online resources for those interested in learning if anything a bit of moonspeak. In fact, anyone wants some links PM me and I'll send them your way, it's actually a fun language to pick up, and it'll give you perspective on your native tongue because it's so different.

I'd suggest not standing by the whole Lucario replaced Mewtwo therefore he will be replaced mentality, as doing some research into the Forbidden 7 (which you did with your Toon Zelda point) will show that the original intention was to have both Lucario and Mewtwo, Lucario just got priority. Mewtwo was never meant to be replaced, and there is a pretty good chance both will make it back for SSB4 (or at least Sakurai will have the intention to bring them both back).

I'd say Saki is even higher due to Sakurai "feeling that he'd fit in", though he could think about choosing Isa to advertise S&P2. Only time will tell if well get either since everyone's like "too many swordsman" hurr durr.

Saki/Isa, same difference if you ask me. We'd probably still get the point in Toises Betting thread even if it was Isa instead of Saki. Saki's just the better bet between the two due to being the main protagonist of the series and is more well known in general.

Also, on staying on topic, I can understand why Star was bothered by it, but there's no need in getting so upset about it. I mean, there really isn't anything to discuss, most Smash Discussion dilutes into the same beaten topics. I mean we can literally Copy Paste previous responses ITT from a couple pages back. I actually like the offtopic discussion as Habanero said, it's better than the on-topic discussion. Very much like 4chan tbh. I mean, there really is no stopping it either, unless you lock the thread, but really, does anyone really want that?

Oh, and on the whole thing about Pra-Mai a while back, Yuui said something very interesting that basically debunks the whole Plusule+Minun Theory in my Book, but not many people acknowledged it, I actually waited the whole day to see if anyone would bring that up, but plain and simple, Plusule in Japanese is Purasuru, Pra doesn't fit simply because of how Japanese grammar works, I'd bank on it being something completely different from what people expect tbh.

I think it's more from the side of cosmetics more then anything. While people may complain about sword users, they can be interesting if you give them some splash of character. This can range from the samurai Takamaru to the more futuristic Saki. Also if a character has something more interesting going for them, then swords can be more overlooked like Lloyd being a duel wielding character or Lyn switching between two different blades with different effects. One thing for sure is to look beyond what is shown to the naked eye.

In my opinion, the "too many swordsmen" thing comes up (and "too many fist-fighters" doesn't) because many of the potential swordsmen arguably aren't compelling personalities. They obviously have different playstyles, so that can't be too common a complaint, I'd think.

Hm, I don't really get the "too many sword-users" mentality. Maybe it's because I view each sword-user symbolically and that they bring a certain personality to the roster (which helps me look past the cosmetics). I guess that doesn't really make sense, but you kinda have to know what's going on in my head to understand. I don't think I can explain it well lol. But like has already been said, different sword-users can bring different talents/moves to the table. Saki is not your average bear sword fighter. Freaking laser sword, yo. Like seriously, not only is Takamaru a samurai, but he can defiantly bring some personality and culture to the roster, which I'd love to see.

Yerp. In the games you fight the RUFFIANS, mutants or something, and in the process he becomes half-ruffian, which allows him to turn into a giant monster, his ruffian form.

As a side effect, he also gets this cool possible alternate costume:

I believe being half-ruffian gives him other abilities that aren't really explained in the games, so really Sakurai has plenty to work with for him in that regard.

It was a prediction video for SSB4. I forget the exact rankings, but he also included Yu from Persona 4(because SMTxFE is a thing), Krystal, and Little Mac. He had others, but I don't recall them. Oh and he said "it's my personal list" a whole lot.

I didn't say it in my video, there was more reasoning to my thought that Lucario will be replaced. Assuming that Sakurai doesn't want to exceed say a 40ish character roster, I think that Pokemon slots are the most susceptible to being tampered with. I agree that Sakurai has the intention to keep Lucario/Mewtwo, I just don't think that intention will follow though.

@shinp: It's more or less the same thing. Sakurai probably has the intention of adding Ridley, but there's a large chance it won't follow though. If the developers really wanted to include him they probably would have for Brawl. Developing ZSS was possibly a way of adding a new Metroid character while also avoiding Ridley. Why else would you go with a character that had very minimal background (ZSS) over a character that is pretty popular (Ridley)? I never said Ridley won't be included, I'm just saying that he will be hard to develop and that gives other characters (in my case Sylux) a better chance. If anything, that just means we might have 2 Metroid newcomers.
