I think Lucario and Snake will be cut. Lucario will be cut like Mewtwo and be replaced. For Snake, he'll be replaced by other 3rd parties and since Sonic is too popular Snake gets the boot. That's how I think it will go.

He's hardly a clone to begin with.I don't think they will cut Lucas. Luigify him instead.
I can't believe people still think this.Roy got replaced by Ike
Replaced? Isn't that a mere assumption, considering that both Mewtwo and Roy were planned to return for Brawl? Sakurai even said something about Roy in Brawl...I think Lucario and Snake will be cut. Lucario will be cut like Mewtwo and be replaced. For Snake, he'll be replaced by other 3rd parties and since Sonic is too popular Snake gets the boot. That's how I think it will go.

Hear hear!I can't believe people still think this.
Why is it wrong to think that?I can't believe people still think this.
Your changing arguments when convenient.Well the roster was practically doubled, so not really. The older characters were somewhat changed as well (although it is mostly the first part I am talking about).
SSB4 won't be the same as that.
No, but his specials are cloned, except one. But I think it's a fair guess that there will be no semi-clones among the brawl veterans. He's hardly a clone to begin with.
Maybe a little bit but not a lotYour changing arguments when convenient.
FOR EVERYONE WHO THINKS LUCARIO AND IKE REPLACED MEWTWO AND ROY:
They didn't. They were all intended to be in the game together. Those who didn't return were only cut because of time restraints. That and they all play differently. That's like saying PT replaced Pichu because it's a new Pokemon Rep.
Welcome to the Social Roster Discussion.Sheesh, so much ignorance... >_>
Fire Red and Leaf Green, the "remakes within Gen 3"."The return of Gen I"? Wait what? What is that supposed to mean?
How is that implying Ike replaced Roy, I was saying Ike would be cut in favor of chrom, meaning if time constraints happen, chrom would get in over ikeImplying Ike replaced Roy. I expect all 3, plus Chrom.

They added a Fire Emblem character and took another one out(though they almost didn't). Unlike with the two Links, Ike is a completely different character from Roy. So I don't see how character A getting in when character B was cut means that that character A replaced character B. By that logic, Pokemon Trainer replaced Pichu and Wario replaced Doctor Mario. Why is it wrong to think that?
They took out a Fire Emblem character and replaced him with another tweaked Fire Emblem character.
Was I just trolled?Maybe a little bit but not a lot
And no, Pokemon Trainer was there because of the return of Gen 1. Pichu was just horrible Gen 2 representation.
I knew that... but, I don't think that exactly qualifies as "the return of Gen I."Fire Red and Leaf Green, the "remakes within Gen 3".
I'm not saying that they're clones.Wolf is a clone... >_>
Why do people keep making the assumption that simply having similar special moves makes them clones?
Um, each Smash Bros tends to MOSTLY be based off of the previous generation (and what they can get from current gen). So for Brawl, the Gamecube and GBA were the consoles. The latter being where Fire Red and Leaf Green were. Was I just trolled?
Gen 1's 'return' was outdated by the time Brawl was released. It's 'return' was already long gone.
Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard got in because of popularity and status. Not to promote an old remake.
If they're not clones, what's wrong with them having a few similar moves?I'm not saying that they're clones.
I just want them to have more unique moves.
If they were going by 'mostly the previous generation', we would have gotten a Gen 3 Pokemon like Blaziken.Um, each Smash Bros tends to MOSTLY be based off of the previous generation (and what they can get from current gen). So for Brawl, the Gamecube and GBA were the consoles. The latter being where Fire Red and Leaf Green were.
Except that Brawl has elements from DS and Wii games. There are elements from Pokémon Diamond / Pearl and the Pokémon trophies are taken from Battle Revolution. Your point is...?Um, each Smash Bros tends to MOSTLY be based off of the previous generation (and what they can get from current gen). So for Brawl, the Gamecube and GBA were the consoles. The latter being where Fire Red and Leaf Green were.
They picked the Fire Red and Leaf Green Male Trainer......a 3rd Gen characterIf they were going by 'mostly the previous generation', we would have gotten a Gen 3 Pokemon like Blaziken.
Because of popularity. They picked the Fire Red and Leaf Green Male Trainer......a 3rd Gen character![]()
Red's debut: Pokémon Red / Blue. Using FR/LG's redesign. Still can't validate your points. They picked the Fire Red and Leaf Green Male Trainer......a 3rd Gen character![]()
But they chose the latest versionBecause of popularity.

Stop trying to make that Pichu, Pokemon Trainer argument. You're trying to make us all seem stupid.
Still previous genNo it wasn't. It was popularity of the most recent, which was still old

They HAD to choose the latest version. But they chose the latest version![]()
And your argument goes down the well...But they chose the latest version
We didn't get the original, if it were popularity than it would have also been that version. But it was popularity and relevancy/recency.
Which is what they usually do, at least with a version they have time to grab and make a model for. They HAD to choose the latest version.

Well duh.Still previous gen
So looking at the Wii and DS for SSB4 is there
That the previous gen seems to have quite the impact on each Smash Bros (on top of some current gen)Well duh.
In brawl, the previous gen was gen 3. I don even know what you're trying to convince us of.

3rd gen didn't have any impact on brawl chars at all. That the previous gen seems to have quite the impact on each Smash Bros (on top of some current gen)
After hearing it from someone on YouTube back in 2011, and looking into it myself, that is what it looks like.
So the Wii and DS will be where most characters in SSB4 will be based off of, with some 3DS and possibly a little Wii U.
*facepalm*Stop trying to make that Pichu, Pokemon Trainer argument. You're trying to make us all seem stupid.
There are obviously similarities between Ike and Roy and Mewtwo and Lucario.
Roy was a slower, more powerful Marth. So is Ike. But they completely revamped Ike's moveset to have a more original Fire Emblem character. But there are still similarities (down b, normal b is fire based and up b has been tweaked a litte)
Lucario has Mewtwo's normal b attack. Literally the exact same. Same properties. Charge in the air, hurts people as it charges. Lucario is just a more relevant legendary Pokemon character. They'd have 4 first gen representatives if Mewtwo came back.
It makes perfect sense to think Ike and Lucario are the newer replacements and representatives for the game. If Mewtwo and Roy missed the cut by time issues, then that means Ike and Lucario were a higher priority.
But please don't say Pokemon Trainer replaced Pichu. None of us are saying that. And our arguments aren't implying that.
Wow, back it up. If Brawl came out two years later, or hell, after BW, Lucario still would've made it. He got in because he's popular. Not because of advertising, as some people think. Lucario is still promoted today. He sells.Latest Gen as of Brawl was the FOURTH generation!
Otherwise, Lucario wouldn't make it in the first place!
