Welcome back. :3Sorry for the absence, but wow, thanks for the warm welcome! I've added up all the new supporters, but man that was a lot of pages to go through! Sad to see that we got locked down and had a spammer, but at least that's over. Also porn where?
I still don't have internet at home, so it seems my only option is to find the cheapest provider and get my own connection, but I'd rather put food in my mouth than use the computer... So I'll still be absent a lot unless a miracle happens.
Figured we'd get a generic response from Ubi, but at least it wasn't an outright "he isn't coming ever."
Loving all of the good vibes in here right now.

A burst of nostalgia rushed through me as I listened to this.Err, I just noticed that I'm not on the supporters list. I mentioned it ages ago in this thread, in more detail, but I have always wanted Rayman in the game, and got excited for him as soon as his trophy was revealed. So yeah, I'm a supporter (only reason he isn't in my sig is because I can't really think of a way to incorporate him well right now. My sig may see a change one of these days anyway. I'd need to make a transparent version of Artsy Omni's artwork too).
Anyway, I noticed something missing from the potential music list that I feel would be a great addition - the only song officially named "Rayman's Theme" (to my knowledge)!
You don't know how much I thank you for this, I've been literally listening to that theme as I type this down because of how fitting it is for him.Err, I just noticed that I'm not on the supporters list. About the pillars, they could add more pillars to it if they wanted it to be compatible with 8-Player Smash. With 8 fighters duking it out and the dragon attacking them, it would be absolute chaos.I would also like to propose a stage - "Breathing Fire!" from Rayman Legends:
I think this stage is begging to be in Smash Bros.
The various layouts on which you fought the dragon on in Rayman Legends were fairly small, but a Smash Bros stage could expand on it's size to fit more players and to accommodate for the Smash Bros game mechanics. Also, the dragon is perfect for a stage boss, having a flamethrower, fire ball, and ram attack.
However, the thing that I like most about the stage is a subtle detail not many people notice - weight distribution.
Because the platform is very rickety and fragile, it doesn't exactly stay still. When Rayman or his friends walk over to one side, the platform will start tilting down with them. This could be used to avoid the dragon's attacks or, if you were really mean, screw over your friends. The "Crush" attack allowed players to make the platform tilt VERY far, very quickly.
I think that mechanic would be amazing in Smash Bros. What with all of the characters having different weight values, it could make for a really dynamic stage. You could also use it to try and force your friends into the boss's attacks, or to deny them of their recovery back onto the stage, in the spirit of the tomfoolery Rayman Legends' multiplayer provided!
Yeah they could easily make it suitable for 8-Players.About the pillars, they could add more pillars to it if they wanted it to be compatible with 8-Player Smash. With 8 fighters duking it out and the dragon attacking them, it would be absolute chaos.
But your idea is fine, too. Would the dragon be prone to damage (like Ridley)?
All newcomers except for clones got a trailer of their own, so yeah, I think Rayman would get a trailer if announced.Does anyone here think Rayman will get a reveal trailer like the other newcomers?
It would be awesome to see Nintendo characters using UbiArt Framework!

right of the image link button.Do you guys know how to post videos on this thread?
Sorry, I'm using my phone to type my comments. Could you please point it out for me? Thanks. If he was announced?
yeah probably. I don't think every DLC character would get one, but I cold see a third party getting one

mousing over will make it say "Media"
paste the url of the video and it will show up
Have you ever got to play Rayman M/Arena? And I agree, it had some nice OST which was really a variant of a characters theme with a stages theme, kinda like in Super Mario World, imo.I'm now listening to more of the Rayman Arena soundtrack.
Wow, this is underrated as ****. One of the best Rayman soundtracks period.
I had the PS1 game, Rayman Rush, which was a stripped down version with just the racing mode (though I think it had extra single-player challenges to make up for it). I think I played the PS2 version of Rayman M at someone's house once, but I can't remember.Have you ever got to play Rayman M/Arena? Do you see the emiticon tab?Sorry, I'm using my phone to type my comments. Could you please point it out for me? Thanks.
Ah, I see. I played the PS2 version of Rayman Arena, but after looking up the differences, the Gamecube version is much different than the one I got to play, even having one extra character, although it's basically a dark clone of Globox. I broke my first copy of the game once from being careless as a child, and bought another copy when I stumbled across another copy like 4-5 years later.I had the PS1 game, Rayman Rush, which was a stripped down version with just the racing mode (though I think it had extra single-player challenges to make up for it). I'll likely just get an ISO of the GameCube version one of these days and play that.
Since it's pretty difficult for me to upload the video, I'm just going to tell you guys about it.Do you see the emiticon tab?

Japan is more accepting of the colour purple now, understanding that it doesn't always mean death. Legends didn't change Rayman's colour in Japan. For those who haven't seen it:
Since it's pretty difficult for me to upload the video, I'm just going to tell you guys about it.
You know how the guys at Did You Know Gaming made a video on Rayman? Well, one interesting thing I learned from the video was that Ubisoft had to make Rayman's body blue in the Japanese version of Rayman 2 since the Japanese thought that the color purple represented death.
If so, would Sakurai have to make one of Rayman's alternate costumes his blue body? Would it be like Rob in that Rob's default render in the western Smash 4 copies would be his NES design and his default render in the Japanese Smash 4 copies would be his Famicom design?
If they stopped doing that to Rayman, then I'm happy. I don't know about you, but he's got a variety of costumes and I think his Japanese Rayman 2 design would've been a waste of a slot.I thought I already posted this before here, but whatever.
And to answer the question, yes I know about the video, and about those trivia. And for the alts, unless the new games still do that to Rayman, I think it wouldn't happen.
Oh.I actually mentioned this many pages back in my giant trivia post, but the purple thing was a false rumour. The colour purple is associated with power, wealth, and royalty in Japan, not death. The true reason his colour was changed is unknown.
The Smash Team is having another Snapshot Contest on Miiverse, and wow, did the Rayman requests fly through the roof in the comment section!
This gives me even more hope!

I never played Rayman Arena, but wow, this is some great music. I've seen a couple of gameplay videos of Arena, and I would like to see Ubisoft do that concept again. Considering that Rayman's cast has grown over the years, there's a lot of possibilities for playable characters.Anyway, I noticed something missing from the potential music list that I feel would be a great addition - the only song officially named "Rayman's Theme" (to my knowledge)!
Arena had racing in it, but it also had a battle mode.wasn't Arena the racing game?
As I said above, I went through every page since I left and added every new supporter, yourself included.By the way, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I've been counted as a supporter yet. I'd like to be counted as one.
