It's people like you that really give me hope for the future of rayman, we definitely have to be the most chill community on the boards, don't see anyone having salty fits anywhere.

Mind you, there were some folk after the leak that were VERY salty, making new accounts and making threads and all that... I remember there was this one guy that was going on about really nasty irrelevant things, kept making new accounts, and then made a thread flaming his old accounts and one of the mods said that he knew they were all his accounts... hilarious, to a certain extent.

Luckily, folk like this were just people jumping on the bandwagon. The real Rayman fans who have been here for months (or even years) are the beauty of this community. Keep it up guys! :D

Snake is more off the wall than a lot of Nintendo's own characters, you can't judge a book by its cover.

It's not like Smash is about bringing different characters together anyway, right? It's no weirder than Mario punching Samus.

I have nothing against the character, or the Metal Gear franchise. As I stated I thought his moveset was fairly unique.
but by that same logic, any edgy character should be able to get in, as it would be "off the wall"

Personally, I think the only reason Snake made it into brawl in the first place was because Kojima practically begged Sakurai through the series' entire life to put him into the game.. lol

While characters like Game & Watch, Duck Hunt, and Wii Fit Trainer are just as off the wall as he is. At least they mesh well.

As to Samus... whether she could be regarded as edgy or not, she doesn't even have a risk of ever being removed either way. She is iconic, plus she is protected by the "original 12" rule.

Anyways, back to Ray. I still think it would be cool if Ray ended up getting confirmed even before the end of the ballot.. like at E3 in a couple months.. As I still find Ubisoft's silence in all of this somewhat suspicious. In fact I've had suspicions since I first saw his trophy.. It all just feels so weird to me.

Exactly my thoughts. I bet they're not promoting the Smash Ballet because Sakurai is already working on Rayman.

I think it is more likely that Wolf is in the works right not regardless of the ballot. I still think Rayman would need votes.

I was more thinking the spinning aspect of it. If we discount the possible flying moves (Up B, Up air, etc.), his Up-Smash could be similar to Juniors, and maybe it could be used for his Side smash as well.

I was totally thinking of this! I could see Rayman using his hair as an up smash and up b. I could even see him using to blow opponents away by angling his up b while grounded like in the 1st origins trailer.

It's honestly one of the most nerve wracking aspects of this whole thing.

Various people in many different places are making their own polls to see who's doing well in the ballot.

On one poll, Shovel Knight is dominating for some reason, in the next it's the Kremling King, etc.


There's absolutely no way to get any real statistics.

Yep. Because we all know Sakaurai is sooo predictable-. oh wait. He isn't.

People need to realize the guy doesn't think in the same mindset as the average gamers. If he did, we wouldn't see characters like G&W, R.O.B, Duckhunt, or probably even Wii Fit if that were the case... The guy sees potential in things that others disregard as important parts of gaming, but wouldn't work as fighters, or choices that "steal slots from more deserving fighters"...

As lets not forget, He is still the head of the Smash project. He would go for whoever he thinks would be unique, will probably throw in a couple of requests... and then throw one of his usual curveballs at us. Causing everyone to start criticizing him for the decision saying the character sucks, then suddenly start loving the character years later.

I'm just happy he's doing decently. For every poll I've seen, he's usually around the top 15, he could be doing so much worse right now!
