Nocturne is really good, yall should play that. Remaster looks fine, its a good game.

Shin Megami Tensei looks pretty solid from this concept trailer. Glad it is not complete vaporware.

Why did we get a spotlight for a goddang WWE game?

Cadence of Hyrule continues to bore me.

The last game was so forgettable I already forgot it.


I hope this will be a concurrent thing of mini directs going forward, because this was clearly not the move to do.

Very disappointing direct considering how long we've been waiting. Considering it was a mini I didn't expect much but it was disappointing even on those standards. Glad for SMT fans that V isn't vaporware anymore, but I don't care much for the game myself. Candence doesn't grab be even remotely (though at least for speculation purposes the DLC gives Skull Kid a small dose of recency). Glad that this is at least a series but considering these were super minor reveals they need really should've just made it one larger mini direct.

SMT V and the Nocturne remake were cool. I didn't care about anything else at all. The fact that WWE was one of the main featured games should speak volumes for how bad this was. Oh and it wasn't even 10 minutes long.

The only thing that even remotely caught my attention was Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne getting a remaster, and by my understanding, Dante was replaced in later versions, which removes a lot of my interest in actually playing it.

A lot of things seem baffling about this - the decision to have a "mini-Direct" that only consists of four games, the fact that it was shorter than the already-short time that it was advertised to be, the fact that this is all we got after four months of near-complete silence and almost a full year without a non-mini general Direct...

Nintendo made a bunch of weird choices today.

I find the whole thing very odd and unnecessary, unless we're getting one of these once every month. I'm especially peeved Ryza 2 and Sakuna were only part of the Japanese Direct, especially since we already know they're coming to the West. SMTV's cool, though. Should've just dropped that on it's own.
I can't really say for satisfaction, since there wasn't much of anything to make me feel anything. It's just kinda there.

Okay, while I'll admit there wasn't much of interest to me personally, I'm glad the SMT fans finally got SOMETHING after waiting so long.

Also, remember that WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC. Clearly, Nintendo was hit harder than most, hence the lack of content. I'm tired of people acting like they're "tone deaf" for not giving us anything that's been rumored. Besides, depending on how these presentations go, we may finally get Bayonetta 3 and No More Heroes 3 news.

That was honestly fine? I'm biased as a SMT fan, of course, but I think it was a solid proof of concept for Nintendo Publisher Showcases. Mini Directs featuring third-party news announced under 12 hours before they drop are neat! I like the premise and am interested in seeing more of them. It's nice to have a middle ground between full Direct and news dropped via Twitter one morning.

The problem is that, uh, leaking happens. So, a small low-key presentation quickly announced hours before it is broadcast can be leaked as a regular Direct weeks before it airs, which provides a lot of a lot of time for people to develop higher expectations, especially when there was no E3 this year. So, uh, that sucks! I don't know how one solves that problem, but I don't think we can blame Nintendo for doing too much when this thing was barely promoted by Nintendo themselves.

Obviously Nintendo will have to do actual E3-tier announcements one day though.

Yes, this is the version featuring Raidou Kuzunoha (the protagonist of a SMT spin-off game) in place of Dante. He also has a talking cat that speaks on his behalf due to him being a silent protagonist, so that's... probably irrelevant trivia, but I think it's neat...

I wasn't expecting much and I was still disappointed.

I have no real interest in any of the games shown off in this direct. Though I have to say I'm happy for Cadence of Hyrule fans and SMT fans. I'm gonna try out SMT eventually. I'm just busy with so many other games and I haven't even made it far in Persona 5, like at all. And it was nice to see Skull Kid make a return.

Rogue Company doesn't seem too interesting and even if it's free I'm probably not playing it. The wrestling game seemed cool but I'm not interested in wrestling. And I just remembered that was it. Yeah definitely underwhelming. This felt pointless. They could have just easily shadow dropped these announcements individually and it wouldn't have made much of a difference.

Honestly, if they just announced it instead of dedicated a direct to it most of this stuff it would probably have a better reception. This direct was getting too many people's hopes up. Overall, Cadence of Hyrule was about the highlight, and I don't even own it. Otherwise, meh.

This feel more like contractual obligations to reveal stuff in a video rather than anything new.

4/10 - Some good info, but not direct worthy.

Direct Mini Reactions

I only watched the American version of the Direct, so I'm going to be focused more on that than the other versions (also Ryza 2 is neat).

Cadence of Hyrule DLC

I did not expect to see this pop up. It was definitely the best thing to come out of the Direct for me. I'm certainly interested in buying the physical copy. Maybe it won't be as soon as now, but it'll be something I'll keep a backlog on if it appears at a local Walmart.

Rogue Company

I've never heard about anything from this game, so it was rather foreign to me despite this Direct Mini only being about already announced games. It looks okay, but not really something I'd be interested in.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds

Oh my God when I first saw this pop up, I legit couldn't believe they'd show a screenshot of nothing before they cut to the trailer.

Anyways, of all the games to be on this Mini, never in a million years would I have expected this 1 to be in today's Showcase. I watch WWE pretty much every week, and when this game was first announced, I thought it looked ugly, especially with how the women look. It still looks ugly, but if the idea is 2K's version of WWE All Stars, I'm open to it possibly being better than mediocre. I don't expect it to be better than All Stars by any means, but it's not like 2K are incompetent enough to make this game worse than WWE 2K20.

Shin Megami Tensei

I'm not so interested in SMT, but honestly, I'm happy for SMT fans now that they have confirmation of SMTV. It's a shame that more people are disappointed that this was the game that closed off because it wasn't something else despite the game being announced before the Switch's launch.

Overall, 5/10 Direct. Despite how high that rating is, I rated the segments from yay to nay, so Cadence of Hyrule and SMT both got yays and made it half and half.

I'm curious as to where this "Direct Mini" series will be handled for the rest of the year. Bi-weekly announcements for a few titles is probably more preferable for me than bundling a whole lot of titles for 1 quarterly Direct, but then again, I'd be harsher on the Mini Directs than the regular 1s depending on the announcements and the number of games.
