Female announcer
First of all, I'd like to point out that there is a reason you might expect a female announcer to be more likely than you might be thinking: there are a lot of announcers for the game, so Xander Mobus is not the only announcer. In Smash 4, there was a separate announcer for English/Japanese, French, Spanish, Italian and German. It's possible they will add more languages, like Portuguese or Korean, or less likely, use a different voice for English outside North America (UK, Ireland, Australia), etc. So, while we know Mobus is returning, but there are still several opportunities for there to be a female announcer even without adding a male/female announcer toggle. I'm not sure how many other announcers we've heard...
Anyway, this wouldn't that interesting of a concept, but seeing how whiny some people are getting over the idea makes me think maybe it is a good one. Like, I wouldn't think that a female Smash announcer would bother people so much, but apparently it does. If you really think it's not something that matters and it shouldn't matter... you should be rating it "neutral" for want. Clearly it does matter to many of you.
Anyway, they are putting in a fair amount of details like this, and they've made some choices to increase female representation: default Inkling is female, Daisy and Dark Samus* added, female Pokemon Trainer, female Pikachu skins. They could do it, but I don't think there's nearly as much demand for it as compared to female playable characters.
*The official site uses "it" for Dark Samus, but as a clone of a female character, I'd say DS is more female than male anyway...
Also I don't know why people think a female announcer would have to be high pitched/girly. There are a lot of directions you could go. Someone with a voice like Jessica Walter (Mallory Archer from Archer, Lucille Bluth from Arrested Development) would be pretty cool, for example.
Another option they could've considered is, for characters that it fits for (like Pokemon, Mario, FE characters, WFT, etc.) have them say their own names. They already have the voice actors doing lines for them, it would add on another second of recorded material...
Female announcer chance: 10%
Probably not going to happen, but I wouldn't be super surprised if it did.
Bump that chance up quite a bit if we're counting a female announcer in any language. That'd probably be more like a 20% chance.
Female announcer want: 60%
It's not high on my list of things, but I'd try it out. Certainly possible I'd like it better than the male voice. Xander Mobus is fine but I'm not attached to him either. Either way the announcer doesn't matter that much to me as long as they're not irritating. If they switched to Gilbert Gottfried maybe we'd have a problem...
Dunno why so many are giving 0s for want. Like you actively despise the idea for some reason. Is it going to shrink your testicles that much if a woman announces the game? If it's as irrelevant as you say, you should be rating it that way.
And justifying that on the basis of it being a waste of resources. For one... how much do you think a voice actor costs to do literally a few minutes worth of recorded material? Do you think they had to pay really big bucks to Xander Mobus, a 22-year-old nobody in 2014? This would be a tiny fraction of the budget of the game. And how much memory do you think it takes to have like 2 minutes of audio? This is a game with 800 songs and 100+ stages but you're worried about the memory requirements of another announcer? Adding another announcer isn't going to affect anything.
If gameplay is all you care about, then you should consider the effort on trophies and multitudes of Mii costumes and things like that to be a far bigger waste. I'd much rather have had them put the small amount of resources for a female announcer than waste time developing Smash Tour.
