Think about it. If you do a backward nade approach you eliminate one of your greatest options. Grabbing. The only benefit is if they attack yeah you blow up a nade. But, you could have gotten 33% from a throw against them.

The only time I ever walk backwards with a nade is towards the ledge to maybe drop it off the ledge and hit people with it while edge-guarding.
