I hate you so much jbirds. **** you and ur time outs.

Melee is funner than brawl. I'm just awful at it but need to get to some tournaments and get better. That's what's kinda putting me off. That I'm too far behind in skill level to catch up and knowing that I will most likely come last but i gotta start somewhere.

I don't like brawl for the campy playstyles of most characters. However, ganondorf dittos in brawl are simply the funnest and i have more fun playing them then melee.

inb4 ganon has to be played campy to be good.

**** that **** right off. I hate seeing patient and ***** ganons. I love throwing out random f-airs and when i edge-hog, i don't get back up onto the stage. I fast-fall stomp the other ganon (ranga) into the ground. So satisfying even though I die.

:)

i'll approach anyone who isn't mk/gw/d3... including lucas' :D
Good thing I second a D3 then. Keep you changing that play up.

I prefer brawl to watch over melee. I've played both a lot and prefer the strategy and game style of brawl more. It's just so different to every other fighter out there, and watching someone who knows how to use a character well is the ****.

Have you played competitive melee though?

Brawl is ok, only exciting in clutch moments or when its a tight battle or the ocassional pseudo combo string.
Melee anything can happen and something new happens nearly every time i play or in everything i watch. The ability to actually make comebacks and get proper momentum makes it way more exciting.

Cal told me that it was hard for new players to pick up Melee because meets were so private and ad-hoc. Somebody want to step it up?

For example I posted a news feed through facebook and eventually scrubs and Dif started talking about a smash meet that was happening. Dif invites Scrubs, but doesn't invite anyone else that made a comment LOL

Cmon Melee guys, I want in on this stuff :(

Melee is an elitist club in QLD you cant just decide you want to join.
You have to be chosen, initiated and accepted after going through the trials.
Serious stuff...

One day ill know what its like

sorry Cal, that time i only invited ben because due to a misunderstanding another time he didn't come to a meet i was having with cpahanso and dark (both of which are new players to the scene o_o, which i also invited jbirds to but there was a brawl meet going on the same day), it wasn't meant to be some sort of secret society gathering or anything. it was just a make-up meet for ben, which is why ben was the only one i mentioned.

i've had heaps of meets with new players like jesse, cpahanso, dark, michael (aka casy aka false_angelwing).

i'm happy for bismashers to come play melee with me. i'll send out more invites next time. i just can't accommodate lots of people cause 7 people live in my house.

EDIT: now that i think of it, that might have been the weekend of matt's meet, which i only invited melee players to because i figured most brawl or bismashual players would have been at matt's meet. but the morale of the story is I DUN HATE YOU, I WUBS EVERYBODY

Think the problem with big melee meetups is that no-one has the place/setup to really support a lot of players. So we just invite a few we know and go off that.

no sloth, you need to learn to invite 10 people to your house with 1 setup and only sitting space for 2 people

sitting on laps and playing one hand each per controller is the way of the future

Also I will enforce the 'no-pants' rule and if you lose you have to take off your shirt and kiss the nearest person.

During Melee day, I'd like to run either a Damage Ratio 1.1 Brawl tournament or a Brawl- tournament on the side. No entry fee.

During brawl day, I'm going to run a Damage Ratio 0.9 Melee tournament and a Low Tier Melee tournament. Because I enjoy watching fast paced, combo-filled matches of melee as do most other people.

The only reason I'd like to do something Brawl related on the Melee day is because I want the majority of people who play smash (who wouldn't stay for Melee specifically) a reason to attend both days. And it may be that they'll decide to enter the Melee tournament to help bolster its numbers.

For those that don't know, Brawl 1.1 is an experiment in the Brawl world at the moment to improve balance and lower the percents at which characters die. I don't know if I agree with it though, since it removes a some 0 -> ? combos and generally buffs characters with strong kill moves. EDIT: Actually 1.1 on the other hand makes other 0 -> ? comboes work better. But eh.

Example: it gives Ike a Jab -> Utilt link at a percent when Utilt would begin to kill - which is much earlier.

I'd like Low Tier Melee.

Low tier brawl would be really fun too. Falcon all up in here.

Run low tier brawl because Luigi just scrapes in on that action. Top of the low tiers ;)

Have been following the 1.1 thread, and to be honest I think its pretty gay. All 1.1 will do is make MK stay where he is and snake will be more broken. Some characters at 1.1 have random kill ability on some of their moves too which messes with your mind, ie character throws.

If you run low tier on the Sunday I'll come if D tier is legal, otherwise Brawl - and 1.1 don't interest me, and I know Jaice doesn't like them either but may play lucas in low tier tourney.

It depends on whether you want variety vs. fairness rofl. D tier is too much ****.

But then you have Kaion.
