You're too late...I want PM icons to be drawn. Like hand drawn and made into icons.
I have little to no coding experience, so I could be way off, but here's how I think it is:Random question! I know this has probably been asked a billion times, and you guys are hard at work; but after all the Brawl characters have been M'd and added, aside from bug fixes, is it possible for you guys to add characters? Such as Mewtwo, or even Ridley or King K. Rool? I don't pretend to fully grasp what kind of magic you put into Project M, but I'm just asking from a desperate fanboy point of view!
Really, oh wow, that is awesome. That is incorrect. All the pokemon trainers and Samus/zamus have their own game files. The only issue there was adding icons, which is easy for PMBR to do. They didn't overwrite the alloys for them. So all the alloy files are still the same. However, there are lots of things that are basic character abilities or move that the alloys can't do and PMBR doesn't know how to add, so trying to place new/new-old characters on the slots over them wouldn't work if you wanted to give them specials, dodges, and other things..
Actually, I've seen YT vids of Brawl hacks with working clone engines that have multiple additional CSS slots open and filled up by other chars. There are more additional CSS slots than there are alloys, or whatever, so it would seem that they have discovered how to actually add full characters. I don't know if these guys are sharing notes with the PMBR though, so it may be knowledge that P:M does not have access to yet.The issue however is getting these characters into the game without replacing any other characters. Typically, most of the hacks you see on places like brawlvault work by replacing the files of another character. Since every character must have a file to read off of, containing everything the game needs to know and show to have a working character, PMBR will have to figure out what needs to be done add those file and have them function properly. Which apparently is a very difficult task.
You can add icons, but you can't add characters that don't exist. The CSS fits up to 50 icons; that doesn't mean that there are 50 characters though.Actually, I've seen YT vids of Brawl hacks with working clone engines that have multiple additional CSS slots open and filled up by other chars. Yeah, the latest Mewtwo PSA does work in P:M but I would would highly advise against replacing Lucario with it. As much as I love Mewtwo, he's not improved from Melee at all and the animation while pretty good for a one man effort are not up to PMBR's quality standarts.Edit: During my search, I found THIS. Apparently, someone figured out how to port Mewtwo into a P:M 2.1 environment. Problem is that it is placed over another character, so this isn't a fully-successful clone engine feat yet.
From reading the comments, it seems like he found a way to get Brawl to open new character files at the CSS. Hmmm, interesting.....I just dug up this video of someone with a custom CSS that apparently has 2 Marth slots, one of them actually being Roy. I have no idea how this was done.
