Glad you picked up on my sarcasm, Unholydeath.

Also, glad you saw my "apparently" NAGACE, implying I'm semi-skeptical myself.

EDIT: My bad Monk. Knew there was a number, didn't know we knew the actual stages. Whoopsies.

41 stages will be included. Whether or not that's the back room stagelist is another story :3

Well my comment was not directed at u but at everyone who has been saying all the demo 1 characters r coming back, i just dont know why think think that so strongly.

Also will there be dlc for this demo. And what i mean by that is, if there r characters who r close to being done will u release them after the demo comes out. My guess is no

They'll probably just save it for official releases/the final product.

Personally, I'd appreciate occasional patches when they make major breakthroughs, but I understand their fear of having multiple versions around and confusing people. I think most of the crowd that follows them is smarter than that/the website can always be used as a means to make sure the "true" version is clear, but hey - what do I know? I forgot about the 41 stages they told us about. :/

I have a question for the future.

After v1.0 gets released. Will there be efforts for further debugging and changes to "balance" out the game at all?

Absolutely. There will be a patch not long after the demo comes out.

Just like last time. :troll:

I wonder what's stopping Samus from being released. Obviously she's being worked on, but I wonder if its due to a lack of overall polish or if she's getting new tricks to get her up to snuff.

Depends on what we release as a "1.0" Hopefully it would basically be a 100% Melee without any issues, but it really depends on when we get there.

Yes, there will be, but it won't happen often since they want to give the metagame time to develop.

Exceptions to that would be coding breakthroughs (See tethers and the clone engine), bugs and glitches.

Edit: Slightly ninja'd by Shadic, but whatever.

I highly doubt you'll be able to fix everything the first time around. You might hope you can get it right the first time, but I seriously expect that there will be little tiny issues or match-ups that are still pretty horrible. Not sure if MU balance was what was a goal though.
SWD has already been implemented. Extender isn't possible, at least the homing on it.
Well, I can hope new code will be found to allow that. I am not really sure why it works in melee.

^See shadic reply.

I hear that, if Shadic is selected, you can input the konami code when a stage is loading to play as the legendary Shadus.

Roy is the only one that's even possible with current Clone engine technology, certainly don't ever forget him =p

I see this phrase thrown around a lot. What does it really mean? I have a couple vague ideas, but I'm embarrassed at how wrong I probably am. Someone please enlighten me so that I might not spread misinformation in the future.

The Clone Engine would allow us to create "clones" (duplicates) of characters, something that is needed before we can even begin to add characters to the game.

Adding say, a second Marth to the game is much, much more difficult than it sounds.

I don't believe he was announced for it (yet) as far as I know. I'm speculating that he will be in, but off no particularly valid reasons beyond being fairly well developed.

I might be super late, and this might be a dumb question, but was landing detection ever fixed?

Yes. Other notable fixes include Melee DI, the ability to alter edge detection, Melee stale moves, and the inability to edgehog tether recoveries.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

EDIT2: Lol Monk, get destroyed :p.

EDIT: gah other people posting before me.
EDIT2: would've posted this earlier, but i was searching for the blogpost.

Alright, now all but two of my questions have been answered.

Shoulder buttons are now pressure sensitive, i.e. light shielding now works? AND this somehow makes replays unusable?
